Oh, haha, I am so silly sometimes. We were discussing the French Revolution. Thursday we start Nazi Germany. But today we beheaded Queen Marie Antoinette (who was played by my best friend) so right before they beheaded her I stood up and yelled "Long live the Queen!" and then started trying to convince the class that Robespierre (played by our instructor) was a tyrant and was the real traitor. Robespierre did NOT take that very lightly so right after they beheaded Marie I was put on trial, found guilt, and beheaded myself. I LOVE that class!!! I can't wait for Nazi Germany!! It is going to be great!!!!!!!

It is epic. There is NOT another like it. I mean no one teaches like Dr. Crenshaw. He is totally the most rocking teacher on campus. And there is a very solid dividing line about him on campus. Either you love him and how he teaches or you hate him. And most of the people that hate him is the ones that don't try and think they can float through the class. Trust me. It's not a float class. It takes a LOT of time and work to pass his class.

It is a very fun class. You really get thrown into the past and what really happened with the way he teaches it. And it helps you to see trends from what happened in the past to what is happening today in our own society. It is a real eye opening class.

It is a great way to learn history. I have a bad problem with numbers. They switch themselves around on me in my brain so a lot of time the numbers I think I see isn't really what's on the page. But so far this year and haven't had any problems remembering any dates or numbers at all. It feels so strange to actually remember the exact date the Bastille was stormed or how many people Veedeeans were slaughtered for keeping their Christian faith.

lol the only date in history that really sticks out in my brain is that the Ashburnham House burned to the ground in 1731 and in doing so destroyed a good number of our ancient texts. and is the reason why we only have one original manuscript of beowulf and sir gawain and the green knight

it was pretty much a library. It held all kinds of important manuscripts. Such as Beowulf, Sir Gawain, The Odyssey, The Iliad, and a bunch of other manuscripts that we no longer have b/c they were burned, all we have are plot summaries. The few manuscripts that did survive, we only have b/c a library worker threw them out the window

Good job, library worker. That was some quick thinking. Pretty smart. Did the worker get out ok?

no clue. I learned about it in English class so all we really cared about were the fact that the manuscripts survived. or at least some of them did
