U is for Umbreon. eevee evolutions for the win!!

V is for Victreebel, which I remember loving getting one as an opponent because I like ice and fire type Pokemon and also they give out good amounts of exp.

W is for Weepinbell

X is for Xatu! One of my fav bird pokemon because I though Natu was cute, caught one, leveled it up until it evolved, and I liked how it was able to both Fly and have Psychic attacks :D

Y is for yveltal

and i dont know, the big open mouths just looked sad to me, and the weeping part... dunno. in my brain, they were sad

Haha yeah I wondered why they were called Weepinbells, I was expecting them to be crying or something but they were just normal looking pitcher plants.

pokemon are so weird because its also a problem of translation since they have different names in different countries. so it gets really weird, really quickly.

A is for Abra

True, I remember some of the names being very literal in Japanese, though I can't remember any specific examples right now.

and ya, i have friends all over the world now and its weird being like "oh this pokemon" and they are like "is that what its called in english?!"

Hahaha yeah, I don't even bother trying to remember the names in Chinese, I just stick to the English ones. XD I only remember a handful of names because they're the most famous and often get mentioned, like the titular Pikachu. Which is pretty much the same in Mandarin. "Pee-Kah-Chou" (皮卡丘)
