Cyan rolls his eyes more. "Why?"

Charmase stilled his feet in the water, staring up at the stars dreamily.

"Because...no matter how much you think you don't affect other people, or that they don't care about you...there will always be someone who worries about you, and cares, beyond your belief. And regardless of whether or not you know it...you mean a lot to someone out there...so, it would be best if you had happier thoughts. For them, if not for yourself."

"No one cares about me." Cyan says this calmly and sounds sure of it.

"There is always someone who cares," Charmase chimed. "You may not know they care. But they do. And it's no use denying it."

Cyan rolls his eyes. "Whatever."

"You'll believe it someday..." Charmase sang, closing his eyes.

Cyan snorts, doubting that.

Charmase seemed adamant about that. He closed his eyes.

Cyan sighs.

Charmase yawned, softly.

Cyan just stares up at the boat again.

Charmase closed his eyes. "You know, you would get along with that mean man that comes to visit Mira every month...Mister Panda Man."

"Why?" Cyan doesn't look at him.

"Because he thinks no one cares about him. And he's...promiscuous," Charmase replied quietly, stretching a bit.

Cyan raises an eyebrow. "Sounds like me."

"Yup, yup! But...he won't come until Mira's friend, the one who's going to fix your ship, comes and fixes your ship. He...he's not nice to them," Charmase murmured, quietly.

Cyan nods, looking at the ship again. He sighs at it. "I'm still gonna have hell to pay for that little fuck up. I doubt we'll be allowed off the damn thing for the next year." He pouts as he says this, looking quite girly.

"Maybe if you told your...boat-faring friend...that you've made a very important ally...she wouldn't scold you?" Charmase asked, tilting his head. "Mira is a powerful governmental advisor for the dictator here."

"She's gonna flip anyway, due to me even making a dent in the boat. And not getting the supplies we promised." Cyan shrugs. "I dunno. Maybe that'd lessen the sentence, but I doubt we'd go unpunished."

"What about if you told her you met the leader of this Kingdom instead? That would be sure to impress her, right?"

"I'm not sure. She's very protective of the boat. But, hey, at least we didn't have our...co-captain with. Deaf spazz would have fallen off." He looks amused at that thought.

"That's not nice. And maybe you could meet Mister Panda Man. You'd just have to stay a little longer after your boat is fixed," Charmase revealed, nodding.

"He is a deaf-spazz though. And since she's already gonna be unhappy, I suppose we could." He shrugs, stretching. He looks calmer than he first did.

Charmase brightened up at once. "Okay! But, I'll have to stay away from him. Mister Panda Man doesn't like me. He wants Mira's attention all on him for some reason."

Cyan nods. "All right."
