Oops, I intended that for the discussion we were having about Sherlock. A lot of us Who fans are watching it because it's written by Steven Moffat.

lonelyotaku: It's very blue. TARDIS-esque indeed. Nice icon too. ^^
According to reviews from people who've seen it The Great Game (Sherlock episode 3) is just as brilliant if not more so than it's predecessors.
Blogtor Who has a 'spoiler-free' review but if you're really spoiler adverse I'd avoid it. Pretty pictures too... apart from maybe that first one of Martin/John. XD

By people who've seen it already I mean people like journalists who'll have been sent copies so they can write previews.
Moffat is probably gloating that he's seen it on his Twitter.

It's really good. I'm still partial to Robert Downey Jr.'s version of Sherlock Holmes, but it's nice to see what a modern-day Holmes would be like, as well.

Modern-day Holmes? Now I'm really interested....
Speaking of which, I'm writing a series that's mildly based off of the Sherlock Holmes books. Want an excerpt?

Haha, I just voted for the Tenth Doctor in the "sexiest beast" poll which pits supernatural and non-human characters against each other. The Doctor is currently set up as being versus Anna (Morena Baccarin) who I've never even heard of in my life. Why in the world would they make it be a man against a woman?? That means that if there are more men who happened to be participating in this poll, of course most of them are gonna chose the female!! Ugh. I really want my Doctor to win. So if any of you would like to vote, the link is here. I mean, you could also vote for this "Anna" person, but in that case I would have to stop being friends with you. hahaha KIDDING.
Two more days til the next Sherlock episode. Is this next one written my Moffat...?

Argh, stupid poll is saying I have already voted and can't vote again. But other people are using proxy servers to vote multiple times. How do I do that? (I normally wouldn't, but since other people are, it seems only fair. hehe.)

EST. Well, the Doctor didn't win. There were so many of us voting and inviting, but even after hours the percentage only went up about 0.5%. Oh well. I reckon a lot of Americans had never seen Doctor Who, so they just voted for the one they'd heard of. Cuz mark my words, if it had been a British poll, Tennant would have won by like 75% hahaha.

re: US viewers - yes, definitely.
If more people even knew about Doctor Who.... But no. Most of America, being down the shithole, is captivated by "reality" tv.

There are actually lots of good dramas on American TV. The fact that people in other countries are watching our dramas is proof of that. What it all comes down to is whether or not the people of a country are interested in foreign shows. In the US, unfortunately, watching foreign shows is generally considered "geeky" for the simple reason that you can't find those shows on mainstream TV channels. By the same token, though, I also get called "geeky" for listening to traditional Celtic folk music. So it's not just a television thing. It's everything. Like the mainstream stuff or die.

Very true, in both regards.
I was glued to USA network before Mom downgraded our cable plan. Now we don't even get that one. We might as well not have cable at all, since we only get local channels. Except for Ion network. Once in a while I can still catch my favorite on Ion, NCIS.
Love me some NCIS. Not so fond of the spin-off.
L&O: SVU, Burn Notice, White Collar was getting interesting. Too bad I'm missing the second season. No.
These days I'm stuck watching CSI. I hate CSI. Or the local news.
Mostly, though, local channels are all reality shows.
Thus I'm spending more money, supplying myself with more books to occupy what little free time I have, or with nail supplies in an effort to study for class.
Or with clothes appropriate for work.
.....
