A sick feeling filled Diva's belly. The pain in her eyes, the fear in her voice. She couldn't begin to imagin the pot-luck of emotions this poor wolf must of been feeling.

"You two dart on ahead, I'll stand out here and keep them out of your fur until you get him out of that hell." Diva said taking a fighters stance, looking all around for the humans.

BAlto nodded at his sister and went for the ship, hiding behind some of the crates that where on deck. A few men walked by, and balto watched as the talked and moved on to one of the other ships. Balto moved as low to the ground as he could - using the wolf with - in.

Gemini followed Balto at a safe distance, slinking along close to the ground until she crouched beside him."it's this way." She said, motioning with her tail towards an open trapdoor in the deck."his scent is coming from there."

Balto followed gemini carefully

Gemini made her way swiftly and silently down below deck, following the scent of her precious pup.the scent became ever stronger, until Gemini stepped into a dark room where several crates were stacked."Todd? Are you here?" She called gently.a small.sound from one of the crates echoed through her, a low whine that tore her heart out."momma? Is that you?" A small, raspy voice asked."yes! Yes, Todd, it's me! I'm taking you home now." Gemini said.if wolves could cry, she would have been sobbing."Balto, help me get to him." For the first time in days, the she-wolf seemed happy, alive."hurry, momma, I'm hurt..." Todd said."we're coming dear heart."

Balto bit and clawed at the crate until it broken open to the sight of the baby wolf pup. " Oh Gemini no..." balto trailed off as he looked on

Gemini instantly checked over her pup.she let out a gasp of dismay when she found a long, deep gash on his side.it had stopped bleeding but his fur was caked in dried blood and he was obviously weak.his front left paw, upon inspection, turned out to be sprained, and he was very thin, as if he hadn't eaten."oh, my baby! What did they do to you?" Gemini cried."I got hurt with a sharp metal thing when I tried to get away.they kicked me and I never got any food or water after they put me in that thing." Todd explained."but I was a big boy, I didn't cry or anything.I was brave like daddy." Gemini's breath hitched."yes, sweetheart, you were very brave.just like your daddy.here, let momma carry you.we're getting out of here." Todd nodded and Gemini picked him up by the scruff, motioning with her tail for Balto to follow as she left the room.

Balto followed Gemini with silence. He moved in front of gemini and lead gemini off the boat and towards Diva

Outside of the boat where the humans had been holding Todd, Diva had been walking around the whole hull to make sure no humans where coming. It remained fairly quiet until the sound of shattering glass took Diva's ears in attention. Heart already racing from the excitment, the she-wolf snuck around to the front of the boat to see that two human males had somehow gotten past here and were now standing at the bottem of the ramp leading up to the deck where Balto and Gemini had dissapeared to.

"Yer a damn fool! Now that fur isn't worth even half the profit! We're just gonna have ta kill 'em tunight so ya don't ruin eny mer of ma profit." One of the human men cussed at the other man for a reason that was a myster to Diva.

"It ain't may fault damn it! He wouldn't stay in his restraits and when he tried to get away he cut himself on the bear knive." The other man argued. Diva wondered if they were refering to Gemini's pup but couldn't dwell on the thought to long. I have to get them away before the other's return either way... Diva sniffed the air, it wrecked of alcohol, these men and all the others, were definately drunk; PERFECT!

Diva darted onto the hull of the boat next to the one Balto and Gemini had gotten onto and went to the highest point she could reach and let out a loud howl, at the top of her lungs. On the ground below, her shadow made her look like she was 13 feet tall and the humans below began to go up in a frenzy.

"LOOK AT THAT UN!" The first male said to the other, nearly falling over as he looked at the shadow oblivious to the fact that it was only a trick of the shadows. He, and a group of other men dashed off into the night in hunt of the wolf they expected to be the kill of a life time.

"Hehehe stupid fools." Diva laughed to herself as she climbed down from the boat, but her success was short lived. A man who hadn't quite been fast enough to depart with the others was still at his tent when Diva returned to the snow below. Without any sign or warning, Diva felt a swift kick to her ribs that sent her onto her side a couple yards away. A sharp yelp escaped her maw and she faught to get up.

The man had been wearing steel toed boots, and though they were only cracked, Diva feared her ribs had just shattered in her chest. She faught to stand up and growled at the man only to be met with the barrel of a riffle aimed right at her nose. Oh god I'm dead... Diva swore as she froze in place. One move and it could be her last.

Hearing the commotion, Gemini knew instantly that the time for caution was at an end.voice muffled by the pup hanging from her jaws, Gemini turned to Balto and spoke."that's Diva's howl.we need to go,now!" she said urgently.somehow, she felt that the other wolf was in trouble, and she knew they had to help.without another word, Gemini raced off the now empty boat and towards the sound of a yelp from Diva.she arrived just in time to see a human pointing a gun at the other she-wolf, and she froze.a gun.a gun was what had killed her mate, injured her leg, and gotten her pup stolen.shat could they do against a gun? She heard Todd whine in fear and pain, and made a gentle shushing sound.they had to help Diva, but how?

Balto followed a bit behind Gemini and Todd. When they left the boat and headed towards Diva and the sounds of the humans screaming. As Balto came to gemini's stop, he seen his baby sister at the barrel of a gun - anger filled Balto, this had happened before when hunters tried to shot his daughter. Balto moved quickly and headed to the back of the human. He could see Diva, she looked like she was in alot of pain, and the human wasn't trigger shy. He had to do this right, moving to the top of a crate Balto jumped at the large man, grabbing hold of his firing arm and taken him down to the ground.

The moment Balto got the human down, Gemini rushed to Diva and bundled her into the forest.she called for Muk and Luck to watch her, and left Todd with her."take care of eachother.be good, Todd, I'll be right back." She ordered, and dashed off again to help Balto.she jumped the human, tearing into his arm and making him lose his gun.she put all her fury, all her pain and sadness and loss since the death of her mate into that attack, and it was a vicious one indeed.she may even have killed the man, given the chance.

The man screamed as Gemini bite into his flesh, blood sprayed everywhere. He screamed in pain trying to kick her off. Balto rent for his right leg and bit into the muscle,, hard and heard it snap. The man screamed some more

Luk lifted Diva in his arms, she'd had passed out from shock once Balto tackled the human to the ground. Muk couldn't believe his eyes and found himself speachless as he looked at the young wolf pup. He didn't expect that they would return with a body, or atleast not alive.

Balto watched a Gemini ripped into the mans arm, he throw the gun and yelled in pain. Taking his foot the kicked at gemini yelling "get off me get off me!!" Balto grabbed the man by legs and bite down hard breaking his ankle. The man screamed louder

Gemini dodged the mans kick, never letting go of his arm.she bit harder and shook her head savagely, looking to tear the mans arm from his body.she heard a snap as his arm broke, and bit yet harder with vicious satisfaction.this is what you get she thought, when you come between a mother and her pup!
Todd looked up at the bears, frightened but trying to be brave."are you momma's friends?"

"hmm mmm hmmm" Luk mummbled to Todd petting the top of his head. He was so adorable! Luk had seen plenty of wolves in his life but the pups always made him melt into a giant fluffy puddle of bear.

"Of course we are. We came all this way to find you don't you know." Muk reassured Todd as he looked over the limp, unconcisous body of Diva. For the most part she was going to be alright, but her ribs had obviously taken some damage and she'd need to take it easy for a while before even attempting to run or do any sort of vigorous activities.

Todd's ears perked up."you came a long way just for me? Wow, thanks! You must be the bravest bears ever!" He said.

"The bravest there ever where!" Muk told Todd posing as a human boxer. Luk laughed at the two of them talking, the gental vibrations woke Diva from her fear coma.

"Wh.. what happened." Diva asked as she struggled to get out of the polar bears arms. Luk let her down and told his usual mumble of an explaination. Diva sighed and looked to Muk and then to the young wolf pup. He was so thin and weak.. the poor dear had truely suffered to the hands of the humans... A sick feeling filled Diva's belly as she though about Blane.

"You passed out miss Diva... You where cornered by a hunter. You fainted but Balto and Gemini saved you." Muk told Diva.

((I'm just going to go on as if we never had a blane and write him in/play him later on))

Balto Grabbed hold of the man and started to drag him down into the below decks of the ship they where on. Forcing him to stay down there and suffer. "Let him go Gemini, we need to get back to the others" Balto said trying to get Gemini to release the human man

With a final growl, Gemini released the man and followed Balto into the forest, where she fussed over her pup again."oh, my poor baby! Those horrible men! Look, you're hurt.and so thin! We'll get you cleaned up and fed as soon as possible, my little one, I promise." She said, gently licking at the blood matted fur on her pup."ow, momma, that hurts! I'm hungry, can we just eat now? Momma please..." Todd whined, though he didn't squirm away as he used to."don't worry, baby, you'll be fed soon.we can't eat now because the humans will be back.we have to go back to the den, at least." She looked up at the others."I cannot thank you enough for helping me find him.but right now time is of the essence.we must go quickly." She said.

Balto just nodded softly as he looked around before leading everyone back to the small den.

When the small group had reached the den, Diva limped to the back of the cave and laid down to rest her sore ribs.
