Lots of people have multiple accounts. It's not a big deal.

I've been with gaia since 05, have around five accounts. Miss the old days, when the inflation was down and people knew how to RP properly.

I still have a Gaia account, but after joining Menewsha, I became very inactive on Gaia and gave away most of my items.

I have a gaia account, and I'm generally active on there, but it's mostly because I like drawing and doing requests and such for the pretty items. It helps improve my art skills. I used to roleplay a lot on that site, but people these days don't have a clue what they're doing anymore, and roleplays always die fast or are filled with pointless one line posts about nothing. There's good discussions here and there, but generally it's a can of spam, with people cybering and flaming each other left and right; that of course is against the gaia TOS, however, there's hardly any moderation at all anymore.

I think the most irritating thing of all is how much geared towards money gaiaonline has become, I understand needing money to run a site, and paying for the monthly collectibles was one thing, but the cash shop with limited items that's constantly tempting you to 'buy now' before they go is ridiculous. Then there's the chance items where they want you to waste real money on the 'chance' you'll get a good item. They also intentionally make it so that ordinary items cannot compare to these 'premium items', and thus, people who can't afford to buy them become noobs because their avatars are not decked out.

Gaia online was much better in the olden days, before it became crazy money geared and before the majority became jerks.

I have a Gaia and I do enjoy my stay there and will continue to do so. Gaia may do somethings that I may not agree with and there will be times misfortune and I will clash, but that's fine by me. I feel more at home on Gaia due to it being the site I've longest stayed with compared to other avatar / forum sites ; I have developed myself slight more on Gaia than most websites and it's the only site in which most of my real-life friends joined. Not saying any other sites are not going to be as good, but I've been on there for several years and I've gotten used to Gaia's ever changing self.

I have Eighteen (18) accounts on Gaia, and each and every one of them are ACTIVE. I login and do the DC run and such, for each account, they aren't mules, they're my Band and Crew. Was thinking about adding the final six for a total of twenty-four, if anyone is interested in reading a story I'm writing about them, or if anyone wants to get my free album (feedback wanted, still no cost, or signup or anything), or see some music vids I've shot and performed in, let me know.

My husband and I have an account on Gaia, but I refuse to get a mule. He's pretty much abandoned his avatar to me (does that make him my mule? :XD).

I'm just there for the games, events, and occasional posting. I just don't have that kind of time to spend on the computer. I've got twins to chase and damage control on the house to deal with. When I worked, I pretty much abandoned my few online communities, I was just too tired!

We don't look at the start date of a thread here, but more when the last post was. As it is just about a month ago, that is hardly necroing. It also depends on the forum. If the thread has not fallen off the first page, you're safe. xD

Also, for stickied threads, there are no necro time periods for them. You could post any time even if the last post was months ago. :yes:

I get nailed for necroing on a lot of places, even if it is relevant...glad ta know this isn't a place that if a message is more than 10 minutes old it's considered necroing if answering.

I find that relevancy is good, it might take even years before someone even looks for the same things. I once tried to post an answer to a question asked in '98 about something that only an old tech like me would know...

The result? Nasty email complaining I was dragging a thread from the graveyard. Even though I had properly answered the question, AND was thanked by the original poster, the moderator had a fit about it. Sheesh.

I have a total of eighteen accounts on Gaia. They are not "mules" they are all active and independant. Yes, they converse with each other, with some very hilarious results from others who aren't aware they are all me...I do not lead them on very long, I will even PM then to tell them that the people they are arguing with are really me...and they sometimes refuse to believe it!

I roleplay with them mostly because I am writing a story involving them, and they are all a part of me. I get irate when some of the more snotty users accuse me of hiding behind a "mule" and so I rebute with "Well, I do not hide the fact that it is one of my many accounts, and I do not hide my profile or equipped list from public view like a childish twit." And then I click Ignore. I wait a week and then wipe my ignore list and they apologise, especially after going back and reading the whole gang's antics.

What can I say, I'm an entertainer, and I do my best to entertain! Too bad I am unable to recreate the fundom here ;)

And yeah, when I get a real paying job, they shall be abandoned...or at least not as active ;)

And no, if he abandoned and left it to you, unless you use his account strictly for storage, it isn't a mule. A mule doesn't post, doesn't play, doesn't do much of anything but pack away the things you don't want on your main account. I started out that way, though deciding to get the Achievements, they all became more alive, and some people like one of them over the others...some still refuse to acknowlege they are all the same person, just a different part of that same person.

Draw My Thing is pretty cool.TO many noobs for me to chat in rally and stuff.. so I stay on roleplaying still don't come there much. Mene is SO much cooler less money hungry and TOTALLY nicer.

I agree with everything you have said. Sure there are still some normal users over there. However most are just there for cheap thrills. Trying to chat with any of them is the equivelent of trying to chat with the leprachaun from the movie series of the same name.

Concerning mods I have to ask what mods? They are either non-existent or they are friends with the trolls/spammers.

The site is almost always about advertising for the latest collectable or some other clothing that you have to buy with actual cash. Fun events are becoming rare.

I actually had a Menewsha account first, and then saw talk of Gaia and it was three years before I finally signed up for a Gaia account (which was two days ago haha) I like it, but I haven't signed in since I signed up, I probably won't go back. I guess I'm too loyal to Mene, and it's a lot less complicated! Who knows, maybe I'll end up using both, I just have a kid that I take care of throughout the day and can't be swept up in too much online stuff, so I don't know!
