((Mega introduction post. Not very interesting. Action to come in future post. ))
Cat, an ironic name for what she was, walked the empty streets of a deserted part of San Diego, her soulful grey eyes looking for something to hunt and eat. The hunger gnawed at her stomach. Even a rat would do, for a snack. Or two, maybe.
She gave a small scowl at life and luck, thinking about the unfairness of it all as she brushed a strand of her brunette hair behind her ear. It was alright for humans, they got food delivered from the world outside this place. However she was just one of the problems they were trying to eliminate. The "scum".
Sensing a movement behind a bin, Cat leapt at the creature and snatched it up by it's tail before it knew what was happening. She hit its head against the wall, killing it with that one blow. Cat had gotten used to raw food since the second depression hit and had got to the point where she could stomach this poor rat now without a second thought, although she really preferred cooked food still.
As she munched on the rat head first, holding it as if it was just a banana, Cat thought at how hypocritical she was being. Here she was, moaning about life as what she was and how humans are trying to exterminate her and her kind, but also eating the original "vermin" herself. This creature had had a life, a soul, just like her. Why did humans and such think that they were better than another species, just because they were living a lifestyle that they didn't like?
Well, the rat had tasted good anyways. Cat finished the tail, sucking it up as if it was just spaghetti. She got to her feet from where she had been sitting on the concrete of the pavement and stretched, giving a quiet yawn. She then bounded across the empty road in strong strides, faster than a human. She went into a secluded thin alleyway and found the things she had put there earlier. She waited.
Then, it came. The rain emptied out of the sky in sheets, soaking the city and everything in it. Cat had now stripped off and was washing herself in the heavy rain she had sensed was coming. It was ice cold on her bare skin, but she didn't mind. In fact she loved it. She would've preferred a proper hot shower, like the old days when she was human, but power in an abandoned city was hard to find. Only the human camps had it now, supplied courtesy of the world outside.
Soon she was clean and smelling of roses from the shower gel instead of wet dog, and her hair was clean for once and smelt of flowers too. She ducked under a fire escape platform for the floor above and dried herself off. She combed her hair, getting out all the knots that had formed since she last had the chance to wash, which had been way too long in her opinion.
She pulled on clean underwear and clean black skinny jeans, clean white socks and her favourite black converses. She found a clean white camisole top and put that on, followed by a clean maroon and black checked shirt on top as a sort of jacket. It wasn't as if she really felt the cold any more. She put on a black fake leather belt with a golden buckle to finish the look.
Next she washed all her worn and dirty clothes in buckets she had put out earlier to catch the rain. They were now full of water so she pulled them under the fire escape platform and spent hours making sure she had gotten everything perfectly clean. Who knows how long it would be until she had this opportunity again? It was difficult being a clean freak in an apocalyptic time.
By the time she had finished, the rain had stopped and the sun had come out again. The strong rays of golden sunlight reflected off every wet surface, making them sparkle and glisten. Cat took her clothes up to one of the floors in the apartment buildings above. She kicked down a door with ease so she could get in to use the abandoned apartment's washing lines that were strung out between this building and the next. She shook the line, sending droplets flying in all directions before falling down below.
After pegging her clothes out, she went back down to tidy up her things. Once this was accomplished, she brought out a deckchair she had found stashed away in the building and found a place to sunbathe until her clothes were dry. She put on black sunglasses, leant back and smiled.

((Finally, a werewolf. Grasias, Gato. (Thank you, Cat)
Has anyone noticed that everyone in this roleplay has a lover? Eli has Hemora. Felix has Ember. Gemini has Kaleb. Everyone has a lover except for Leon. He's all alone, but that's the way I like it...))
My breath was cut off when I saw the shotgun Kenneth had. A chill raised the hairs on my neck and prickled down my spine, like a spider's legs crawling down my back. My breathing began to shake and my body trembled, although my attempts to keep myself steadied. My thoughts were scrambled, and I tried to develop a plan of some sort, but they were clouded with thoughts of panic and fear. I knew I couldn't stall by just standing there.
"Give up, Leon," said Kenneth, glowering at me with narrowed black eyes that seemed to sear at my soul. I realized that I had been holding my breath when he had spoken. I exhaled in a low hiss, feeling the prickling lower down in my abdomen. My muscles shook as I balled my fists, continuing the silence. All I heard was the pounding of my heart, which I could've sworn would be audible throughout the whole room. "You're only going to cause more pain if you struggle." I could barely hear the words coming out of Kenneth's mouth from the loud beating of my heart, like a drum's tempo.
"Elsa," I choked out, and I saw her turn to me. "Get up." My eyes didn't leave Kenneth's inky black ones. It was like the pupil had bled into the iris, so black... I inhaled and exhaled before saying, "Get him." Before I could even finish the sentence, Elsa lunged at Kenneth, wrapping her arms around his leg and sinking her teeth into him. He let out a cry and I thrust myself at him. He recovered quickly, much quicker than I expected. The man shoved the muzzle of the gun in my chest and pulled the trigger. The force of the shells hitting me square in the chest flew me backwards against the wall. I staggered a few feet and saw Elsa's legs running toward me as I collapsed.
"LEO-!" she screamed, but was suddenly cut off. I saw Kenneth grabbing her by her black hair and throwing her against the wall. After a few moments, the excruciation began in my chest. I coughed and let out quivering moans, as my body shook. The tang of salt was left in my mouth, and felt more stinging that usual from a shot. I realized that what was in the shotgun shells was rock salt. I tried to breath heavily, but my lungs seemed to be crushed by the blow. The pain was unbearable; I couldn't move, or else it would get worse, if that was even possible. I'd never believe that my body could take in so much pain before, but I was feeling it. I began to numb and no longer felt the pain, unless I breathed or moved in any way.
I opened my eyes and saw that I had tipped over a shelf on my way down. My vision began to clear up as I blinked and saw out of the corner of my eye... a bundle of dynamite. Apparently, the shelf I had tipped over was full of bullets, shells, traps, and dynamite. There were four sticks of dynamite with intertwined wicks only hand away from me. I tried to raise my arm, but it seemed to be paralyzed. The pain would be intense to try and move my arm... so I did it quickly. The agony multiplied by the tens and I let out a shaky breath. I felt the dynamite and pulled it toward me, painstakingly. The fireplace was lit, and only a few feet from me, but that means I would have to move my body. As I was doing this, Kenneth was struggling with Elsa, hearing her screaming at the back of my head.

i blushed when eli said we were like a married couple."we are nothing of the sort!" i said indignantly. dont be so upset,im sure she was just kidding. kaleb remarked,in the most infuriatingly calm voice possible."oh! eli,the point here is,kaleb is a pureblood,if felix drinks his blood, hell be fine.is that ok or not?"dont rush them, its a big decision. "will you stop contradicting me!" sure, when you stop being so impatient. "you! you are sooooo damn infuriating!!!!" i know how to calm you down. i was about to retaliate when-boom! i found myself being kissed! about two minutes later,i was on cloud nine, and he was grinning triumphantly."youre lucky youre cute..." he just chuckled at me.

I start laughing when Gemini and Kaleb start arguing again and he kisses her to shut her up.
"You guys are a riot!" I manage to say through my laughter. "You should be in a comedy!"
"It almost reminds me of ken and..." I cut my sentence short and turn away.
I wasn't supposed to have come back. I had planned on not comming back here. It hurt too much for me to see him, especially with another woman.
My eyes start welling up with tears and I run out of the medical tent with tears streaming down my face.

((Still not very interesting I'm afraid. ))
Hours later it was dusk. Cat climbed the stairs of the apartment building again and went to get her now dry clothes that she had put on the line. Getting a wash was such a small thing but it made all the difference in times like these. It was such a small thing but it made her so happy. She was the happiest she had been for months. Washing her clothes was such a normal thing, it made her feel human again, rather than the beast she was. She could pretend things were normal and forget all the misery and hurt she had experienced lately.
Cat nosed through the apartment, looking for a new bag to put her things in as her old one was broken and to be quite frank, it stunk. She found a backpack in the room of a young girl. It was a kind of silver grey and covered with embroidered pink hearts and flowers. It was a little too girly for her tastes but it would serve its purpose. Cat emptied it, fingering and looking at the items within as she went. 3 Barbie dolls, 1 Ken doll, a horse doll and a koala bear plushie. She fingered the koala bear plushie the longest and decided to keep it. It wasn't like the girl could ever come back for it. Perhaps she could return it someday? If the girl was still alive that is...
There wasn't much else in the bag, just a few pencils, some scribbled drawings and a plastic tiara. She shook the bag upside down to get rid of all the bits of pencil lead ends that had broken off and fallen to the bottom before folding her clothes and packing them and everything she owned into it, except the buckets as they wouldn't fit, so she just stacked them and tied the handles together thoroughly with some string so she could carry them all at the same time.
She put the backpack by the bucket and went over to sit on the bed of the girl with the koala bear plushie and look out of the window at the stars that were coming out, and the moon. It was such a beautiful sight. Shame it wasn't long until the full moon. After a while, Cat curled up on the bed with the plushie and went to sleep.

As I sat there in thought I saw Eli run out of the medical tent. I got up, grabbed my weapon, and ran out of the tent.
"Eli! Come back Eli! Please!" I shout as I run after her. I could see a few people watching me but I really didn't care. I wouldn't lose her again. She ran into the forest and I followed her, even though the forest is a dangerous place. I kept running, trying to keep her in sight. After a while, she disappeared from my sight. I kept running, hoping that maybe she would stop, but eventually I knew that she wasn't gonna stop. i fell to my knees and lost it. I couldn't believe that I had lost her again. I didn't know what had happened. Something must have happened when she went to rescue Ember.
While I was on my knees I heard a twig to my right break. I had a bad feeling that it wasn't Eli coming back. I pull my weapon up and aim it at the thing to my right. As I aim it I stand back up so that I can get a better shot. A buck walked out of the trees. It didn't look right tho. Then it hit me. It must be infected. It started edging towards me. I aimed my rifle carefully, put it in semi and fired two shots. Both rounds hit, right in the middle of the forehead. The buck stumbled a little bit, but it kept advancing towards me. I switched my rifle to bust mode, and pull the trigger multiple times, each time three rounds come out of the barrel and tore into the buck. Finally after a few seconds the buck dropped. I dropped to my knees once again. I lose it again. I just wish that I could tell her how much I really loved her. I would have given my life for her, and I still would.
"Eli, please, just give me a chance to talk to you, that's all that I ask. I'm sure that you can hear me. Please come back. I will not be able live with out you, not now that I know you are still alive. Please come back to me." I stayed there for a long time. I didn't care though. I'd wait for as long as it took to get her back to me.

As I ran out of the medical tent I saw ken follow after me, shouting. I ran into the woods to try to make him stop. The woods were dangerous for humans to enter, but he still followed.
After a minute or two of running I manage to jump up into a tree and hide. Ken runs right past me and I follow him from the trees. He stops and falls to his knees.
"I'm sorry." I whisper.
A twig snaps not far away and I coulld smell what it was before I could see it. An infected animal, a buck, was walking towards ken. I gasp and fight the urge to get down and save Ken. He pulls up his gun and shoots the buck a few times but it keeps advancing. He shoots it more until it falls to the ground. The sound of the bullets being fired out of the gun made me flinch.
Ken fell to his knees again and calls out into the endless woods. I stand in the tree listening to his words as tears slide down my cheeks.
All he asked for was a chance to talk to me. He said he wanted me back and that he couldn't live without me because now he knew that I was still alive.
he stayed there for hours and i watched the sun fall lower and lower on the horizon.
It would be dark soon and the forest became even more deadly after the sun set.
I slowly sneak down from the tree, from where I was Ken had his back to me.
"Ken..." I start to say.
He starts to move to turn around.
"Stop. Don't turn around. I'll only stay here and talk to you if you keep your back to me."

"Eli, when I thought that I lost you the first time I tried to move on. I thought that there was no way I'd ever see you again, so I started just trying to get by in life. I didn't care about anyone but myself and doing what I had to do to get by everyday. When I saw that you were still alive I honestly didn't know what to think at first. But then I thought that this might be a chance to show you how much I loved you, and that maybe even though you were infected we could stay together again. While you were gone saving Ember, I was afraid that I would lose you again. Please, just stay." I kept my back to her, just as she asked.

Advancing toward the fireplace was so damn difficult. Not only as excruciating as it was, I could barely move my body. My legs were almost completely inert, and my left arm was the only one that was able to move. I struggled to will my limbs out of entropy, but I knew I had to do this quick. Sooner or later, Kenneth would realize my plan.
I breathed heavily at the stress I was putting on my impaired body. Keeping quiet was also a challenge, but thanks to Elsa's wailing, I remained inaudible. I rested my body, which was still a good five feet from the fireplace. Raising my head, I threw the dynamite at it, and as if by pure luck, the intertwined wicks were lit. I didn't care how agonized and paralyzed I was, I raised myself to my hands and knees and crawled toward it, often staggering and falling on my face. I snatched the bundle of dynamite and raised myself to a sitting position, my back against the wall. Breathing heavily for a moment, I cleared my throat and breathed, "Hey."
I could almost laugh at the dramatic alteration in Kenneth's face. He turned to me with an angry scowl, and that scowl soon turned into shock and horror at what object I indicated. Elsa looked over at me with a desperate face, and her face turned to stunned as well. Kenneth straightened himself and turned to me, his eyes to the bundle of dynamite in my hand. I cleared my throat again and rasped, "You.... let us go... right now. Or I'll blow this fucking place to hell..." Kenneth narrowed his eyes and said, "You wouldn't do that, Leon. Then you'll kill both you and Elsa." I shook my head, a mad grin forming on my face.
"I'd rather let us all burn right now," I said, hoarsely, "then have Elsa suffer with the virus..."
"Come now, Leon. Why would you want to ruin all my studies when I've gotten so close to finding the-"
"You don't know shit!" I yelled, my voice stronger now. "You're just a homicidal microbiologist. Nothing more... nothing less..." Kenneth stiffened at my insult and glared at me. I let out a sigh and looked at the disintegrating wick, only several inches from detonating the dynamite. For having the difference between life and death in my hands, I wasn't as afraid as I thought I'd be. Since I'd been so close to dying so many times now, I was no longer as terrified as I used to be. All I cared about was saving Elsa, but I would rather have her die than die slowly by having the virus in her.
I raised my head to meet Kenneth's infuriated eyes and smiled. "Here are the options," I said, coolly, "we can wait this thing out until it detonates on us or I could throw it in the fire and have explode on us right now. Or... you can let us go and no one gets killed. We live and you can go on with your petty, self-righteous life." The man exhaled once and stared at the ground, analyzing his options. After a long, agonizing moment, Kenneth raised his head and nodded.
"Alright," he said with a look of defeat. "I'll let you go..." He shook his head and sighed. "I guess I really have no other option..." He made a sheepish chuckle and stared at the ground, gritting his teeth. Exhaling in relief, I gripped the roof of the fireplace and slowly lifted myself up. He turned and backed away from the exit of the cabin and Elsa. She got to her feet and scurried toward me, like a rat toward a wedge of cheese. Kenneth indicated the door and lowered his head. We slowly advanced toward the exit, my eyes not leaving Kenneth's. I grasped the doorknob with my right hand and pulled it inward and Elsa walked out. My eyes left the man's eyes once to glance at Elsa, who was standing there, waiting for me. I exited the cabin, still having the bundle of dynamite in my left hand.
"Leon," called Kenneth from behind. Turning, I felt a blast of heat in my right shoulder and collapsed. I heard Elsa scream. I looked to my shoulder to see a pocketknife lodged in my shoulder. Without any hesitation, I reared my left hand back and threw the dynamite in the direction of the fireplace. Unfortunately, Kenneth caught the bundle of dynamite in his hands. "You didn't think it would be that easy, did you?" he said, grinning in exultation at me. I lifted my head, my grimace turning to a triumphant grin.
"No," I breathed, staring at the invisible wicks on the dynamite. "I thought it would be much harder." Kenneth's black eyes widened and, before he could even look to see the dynamite in his hand, the bombs exploded. Quickly jumping to my feet, I grabbed Elsa and ran for my life. I knew that the original explosives would only blow up Kenneth and a portion of the house, but the impact of the fire shall detonate every other explosive in the cabin, including every gas pipe and barrels of oil. It took a fraction of a second for every other flammable and explosive to blow up. By then, Elsa and I were tumbling down the hills.
In the midst of all the booming explosions, I heard a chorus of ear-splitting cries. They were the all test subjects of all Kenneth's studies. All of them... burning and screaming for the life that Kenneth took away...

Did he really still love me that much? Enough to die for me? Even though i was infected? I thought to myself.
I turn back to him and start to walk forward. I pause for a moment before I run to him and wrap my arms around him like I used to do before the outbreak.
