Seeing the blond youth losing consciousness was all he needed. Leon reached for his gun, his gray eyes locked on the creature before him. Now that the dawn light was shining in through the window nearby he could see the changes that had occurred. Jill's eyes were red, and her canines were sharpened. Her fingers looked like extended claws; her skin was a strange color that was darker, perhaps more gray, than naturally possible. She looked like a fiend from hell.
Just as his fingers wrapped about his weapon Jill's entire form transformed briefly. Her jaw extended farther than possible as she let out an inhuman cry and her snarl was more animalistic than natural. Wiry, oddly jointed . . . Jill looked like a ghoul (if you've played Left 4 Dead, think of a witch and you've got her.). She lunged forward haltingly as she got used to her new body, a strange extension on her chest. The object looked like a gem: dark crimson and shining, though it seemed oddly alive. It looked like it was held in place by reptilian skin, smooth and reflective.

Leon got the gun up just as Jill rammed into him, sending him back against the wall. It was surprising to see how much strength she had. After a brief struggle, the soldier kicked the creature away and moved for the gun that he'd dropped. He was about to fire when he realized that this thing was Jill; he had to keep reminding himself of that. Whipping the gun over her head, he was shocked when she hardly reacted. Instead, she came at him with claws and fangs flying.
By the time he managed to get the girl pinned and unconscious (he'd bloodied her head to do so, but she wasn't too badly hurt), Leon was panting. He moved swiftly to Kaden as the youth started to drop away from the world. "Kaden," he growled worriedly, looking over the nasty wound on his throat. Everyone's getting hurt all of a sudden!

It seemed as though Jill hadn't noticed or heard Kaden's distress.

Kaden barely registered Leon saying his name as he watched the military man hurry to his side. His wounds were still bleeding slowly but his heart was wrenching and pulling inside his chest, as if it wanted to leave him and kill him on the spot. The pain and heart break was clear on the youth's face as he reached out to Leon and his fingers barely brushed Leon before his arm fell away from fatigue. "I failed..... I-I wasn't strong enough...." he choked another tear sliding down his cheek in anger from being so weak. "I-I couldn't protect her...." he rasped painfully, his breath suddenly coming in wheezing gasps, his air struggling to make it to his lungs.

The corner of Kyreian's mouth twitches in a smile when Dante asks her to tell him how they met. What an idiot. Why does he want to know? Why does it matter? She sighs. "Your incredibly frustrating, you know that?" She then tells him the story, going into far more detail then she really needed to. Especially the part where she had wanted to stab him as soon as he gave her her weapons back....But she did leave out the dark dreams. Those she didnt think he needed to know then.
She sighs again at the finish, tired and weary. She was starting to feel a little better even if her arm still wanted to drain the life out of her. She blinks and her eyes were blue again. "Will you stitch me up now? I can walk you through it. I just have an aversion to doing it myself." Her speech was light as she was still feeling a bit loopy; but at least she was coherent enough.

"I . . ." Leon's gray eyes slowly closed, his features growing cold. "I'm sorry for this." Looking over to Jill, and then back to the blond that he tried to support, the soldier felt his control over his abilities slipping. Whenever that happened a new outbreak of infection occurred. Leon bit the feeling back . . . and then heard Kaden's wheezing breath. With a snap, his control broke.

"Don't die." The broad-shouldered youth gripped one hand into a frustrated fist as he kept his other hand pressed against Kaden's wound. A strange thing happened then: his powers worked in a different way. Instead of creating an infection, Leon did the opposite: he brought forth healing. The cells started working together to heal: antibodies and a "serum" of life flowed from Leon's hand to Kaden's skin.
Miraculously he stopped bleeding . . . and the wound slowly began to knit itself back together. Infection faded as it was killed; Leon felt his abilities working, but did nothing to interfere. If this was going to save Kaden, he didn't want to mess it up now.

-

With a quiet chuckle Dante cleared his throat and settled down. He took a needle and thread from the medical kit that Leon had found in the bathroom. "I've never done this before," the white-haired youth said lightly. Swallowing, he put the memories of doing it to himself out of mind. "Not to anyone else." His glowing gaze flickered over the bloody gash before he sat on his knees and quietly took off one of his gloves. In order to do this accurately, he needed his real hands instead of a covering.
"Walk me through it?" Dante smiled nervously. "You might have to really start talking, babe." He glanced up at her before meeting her gaze seriously. "Kyreian. I know you hate that. Kyreian, not babe."

Kaden was shocked as Leon seemed to refuse his passing. Gritting his teeth thinking the infection was going to come as Leon seemed to loose focus. But suddenly relaxing energy flooded into the youth, seeming to revive him. Feeling his flesh and veins repair themselves made him want to squirm but he just grit his teeth. But when things seemed be easier to do he flexed his arms and fingers and then put his hand on Leon. "Stop.... You can heal Jill..." he whispered and smiled slowly, the tear drying on his cheek. "I'll hold her down... You just concentrate on heing again... You cam do it Leon." Kaden said and took his friend's arm, something they did a lot to signify they would support eachother. "I believe you can save her." he said with complete trust and belief flowing in his multicolored eyes.

"I can . . . " Leon whispered, looking down at Kaden in amazement. His gaze moved to Jill as she began to shift. She was waking up already. "I'll try." The immediate support from his friend made the soldier smile a bit. They could do this: he had to heal Jill.
Leon stood and moved toward the writhing girl. Jill's gaze was dilated, and she let out an inhuman hiss as he got close to her. "We're here to help you," Leon said soothingly, but it had no influence on the blonde's actions. She kept trying to lash out a him with claw and fang, the only thing keeping him safe was his ability to dodge her slashes. That, and Jill looked a bit woozy.
"You hold her, I'll heal her."

KAden smiled and then nodded. Folowing the soldier he moved to Jill's side and grabbed her thrashing body. Slinging his leg over her he then pinned her legs with his and growled as she nearly clawed his cheek. "I've got her Leon... Try to consentrate." the blonde youth said calmly even though he was gritting his teeth to hold onto Jill tight enough. She had definately alot more strength now then she did as a human, it was kinda scarey.

Jill grunted as she was pressed to the ground. Feeling the weight on top of her made her squirm all the more - and she snarled and clenched clawed hands tightly. Her inhuman cries were unsettling - but nothing was stranger than the animalistic look in her features. She didn't look human.

With his gray eyes narrowed in concentration Leon knelt and pressed his hands to Jill's shoulders as she rested face-down on the floor. "Concentrate," he repeated. It was a fierce moment of concentration, for sure. Expression dark, Leon ignored the dusty brown hair that slid into his eyes. He focused on saving Jill, just as he'd done for Kaden. He had to help her, and he had to do it now.

Jill thrashed more violently, managing to get a few nicks in on both the boys - but she eventually seemed to tire, her snarls turning into whimpers. When Leon finally pulled back, Jill's bloody features (thanks to her bite on Kaden) were blank. Jill lay still, her breathing ragged . . . and Leon's eyes were wide as she wretched dryly, trying to rid herself of the blood she'd ingested.

"I'll get water," Leon said, swiftly standing and heading for the kitchen once again. He didn't bother commenting on Jill's appearance, for he knew that Kaden was thinking the same thing: she looked the same. Jill acted normal, but her skin was still a strange greyish color. Her fangs were still sharp, as were her claws. Yet, the soldier could sense no form of virus in her any longer. There was simply nothing more for him to heal.

Kaden watched in hope as Leon began to concentrate on healing Jill. He then sighed as she began to act normal and slowly slid off of her. Gently taking her into his arms he smiled. "You're going to be fine..." he breathed his cheek cut but he didn't seem to mind a all, not when Jill was safe again. Sighing in happiness he kissed her temple and gently took his hands in her as he hel her gently. His eyes traveled down her grey skin, her features still beautiful, though she had fangs and claws. He still saw her as Jill, the only girl he loved. "Are you feeling better?" he asked softly and smiled reasurrigly as he adjusted his glasses on his face.

Jill was shaking, but her hand clenched on Kaden's. "Okay," she rasped, a spasm wracking her body before she finally began to still. The woman's brown eyes darted about restlessly, and she looked uncomfortable, but Jill would be fine. Meeting Kaden's gaze for as long as she could manage, the blonde frowned a bit. "I bit you," she said hoarsely, trying to lick some of the dried blood from her lips. The wild-looking creature that Kaden held was familiar, but far different from Jill's previous look. She didn't look human anymore.
Resting her head against Kaden's chest Jill trembled. Letting out a soft moan, she closed her eyes and lifted a clawed hand to press against the place she'd bitten. Kaden's skin was warm beneath her hand, and she was careful not to scratch him with her new claws. "I don't know what happened. I'm sorry."

Leon stepped past Dante and Kyreian with a muttered apology, hurrying to get a glass of water and some crackers for Jill. It looked like everyone in the house was suffering from something or another symptom. The soldier wearily knelt beside Kaden and Jill, passing the glass to the other male.
Keeping silent, he sat down and watched as Jill took the cup and drank quietly. The crackers were something for her to nibble on, but she seemed to have little interest in the food.

"You were both . . . different. I couldn't tell it was you." Jill frowned. Her voice was completely different: it was dark, husky . . . almost a smoker's voice now. Swallowing and clearing her throat, she tried again. "Everything hurt. I . . . needed . . . to feed." Still no change in her voice. The blonde reached back with trembling fingers and tried to retie her hair behind her. The only thing she succeeded in doing was snapping the band and streaking blood through her pale hair. Giving up, she let her hands fall into her lap. "Thank you." She eyed the claws with an appalled expression on her face, but she hid her gaze by burying it in Kaden's shoulder.

Kaden expression never changed though his glasses flashed as Jill whispered about biting him. Feeling her cool claws hand on his neck he nodded and then smiled slowly. As she gulped down the water and tried to fix her hair he frowned as she snapped her hair band. She wasn't taking her change well, and he didnt blame her but he was sure he could help her threw this. He and Leon weren't going to judge her or treat her any different. "here..." he said gently and as she hurried her face into his shoulder he took out his hair band and lovingly pulled her hair up and gently tightened the ponytail. "There... You don't need to be frightened Jill... You can probably kick our asses now in races, and im sure that you'll be able to do a whole bunch of new things then you never were able to do before." he said encouragingly. Slowly he took her hand and carefully threaded his fingers threw hers, smiling lovingly. "We're still a family... No matter what happens we are going to be here for you." he said reassuringly.

Jill shook for a moment, a silent sob breaking the stillness. "I hate him." Even Leon's eyes narrowed. They knew who she was talking about: Xavier. She didn't react to Kaden's fingers carefully tightening her hair into a ponytail, and she loosely held the blond's hand in hers. After many moments, she glanced to Kaden, and then to Leon. Her eyes reflected like a cat's . . . but they were red. "Still a family," she whispered, her gaze moving from one boy to the other. Her hand finally tightened around Kaden's. Her grip was far stronger than usual, but it wasn't enough to hurt.

Trembling, the girl closed her eyes and rested against Kaden once again. This isn't supposed to happen. This couldn't be real.

((Alright. Should we send them after Xavier? I'm forgetting my original plan here.))

A few days had passed since the major incident happened to the small three person family. Kaden and Leon had helped nurse Jill back to health, and soon the three plotted their revenge by killing the dreaded Xavier who brought this horrible thing to happen. Leon soon began teaching both Jill and Kaden how to fight with hand to hand combat, so they would be ready for when they couldn't rely on powers or guns that Jill had specially created for the task at hand. When not working on combat Kaden was working on helping Leon and Jill by strengthening their minds to help control their powers, as well as training their powers(leone strictly on healing). Soon they seemed ready, and closer then ever, having overcome this major obstacle. Kaden found himself only loving Jill more, being so proud of her for stepping past the negative affects of her change and working on the positives. He believed they were ready, and as he sat with them in the living room, eating their lunch he had made he smiled. "Are we ready?" he asked, breaking the silence.

Jill looked up from the meat-heavy sandwich she was chewing. Thoughtfully waiting until she swallowed, the girl licked her clawed fingers. "Yes." Her voice was still hoarse and rough, as it had been since she'd changed. Her ears were pointed, her eyes slanted and discolored, her claws and fangs sharpened. She was a hunter now: and she knew it. It was difficult to accept the change, but Jill used the time to focus on one thing: Xavier. His death would bring her solace and vengeance.
Her blonde hair seemed slightly stained by the blood that had soaked into it; her skin was still dark and deathly. Her agility, strength and speed had been heightened miraculously. Even Leon had trouble adjusting to her new abilities . . . especially when she fell into a hunter's mindset during training.
"I want to rip his throat out with my teeth."

Leon smiled grimly, sipping his glass of water. "We've trained. It's been a few weeks, and I'm not sure if we're ready for something so-"

"We're ready." Jill broke through the soldier's words with an impatient growl, but then eyed him apologetically. "I don't want him to find out we're coming." Who knew if Dante and Kyreian would warn him? They said they were there to help, but what if they were still loyal to the elder mutant?

"We've made a lot of progress," Leon nodded, taking Jill's thoughts into consideration. "But we'd be risking a lot. I'm not sure if it's time yet." The male glanced to Kaden, and then to Jill before taking another drink.

Jill frowned in frustration, unable (as was recently apparent) to hide her disappointment and impatience. She took another vicious bite of her sandwich, muttering something unintelligible through the food. "We should get it over with. I don't know about you, Hero, but I'm dying to sink my teeth into that worthless scum." Her red-reflecting eyes flickered to the gun she had sitting on the table across the room. Jill sat on the floor cross-legged between the boys. Leon sat on the couch near the front window.
Sighing, she took another bite. "I think we've trained enough. We can focus, we can shoot, and we can fight. We're good."

KAden nodded and then sighed and wiped his mouth. "I agree with Jill... If we wait any longer we will be at the bad odds. He will know we are coming." he said and then sighed heavily. "We all know the plan by heart by now and I believe we all have enough anger and vengence to pull it off." he said as his glasses flashed. Adjusting them on his face he then shook his head. "Lets get ready"

((*laugh* You can reply to his post and then we can catch them up. Good to see you again, deary!))

"Yes," Jill smiled, her fangs protruding beyond her dark lips. She was ready. Standing, hardly able to sit still, she gathered the weapons necessary and passed the rest to the boys. "Keep in mind we don't want to use them until we're close. He'll just disappear if we don't time it right."

Leon nodded once, slipping the gun into a holster at his hip. This was just like the missions he'd gone on while with the army. As a soldier, he was conditioned for battle. There was no way he wasn't ready for this now. "Let's go."
-

The trio left the house as soon as the sun set. Every one of them was excited and full of energy - this night was going to be like no other. As they entered the apartment building where Xavier dwelled, it was hard not to cry out a challenge. Jill nearly writhed every step of the way.
After they'd cleared the dozenth room, her eyes flashed crimson. "Gah! Where is he?" she hissed, unable to keep patient any longer.

Kaden growled in irritation as they kept searching for Xavier and then shook his head. "We have to call him with these marks I think." he said looking at Leon and shaking his head. This was going to be interesting. "Do we know exactly how to tdo that?" he asked trying to remember wether or not they could actually do that. It was merely a guess.

"I don't," Leon shook his head, looking down at the scar on his arm. The marks that Xavier had left behind were remnants of him, to be sure. "He never said anything about it." He looked from the pale mark to Kaden, and shook his head. "Any ideas?"

It was that moment when Jill let loose a piercing shriek. She had just slid into the next room: the room where she'd been changed in the first place. The blonde flickered from sight, and the sounds that followed were sickening. Leon's eyes widened, and he didn't pause as he drew his gun and headed for the door.

By the time he got there, Jill was lifted in the air by one of Xavier's hands. The male was tall and looked furious - as usual. The darkness that swirled about the room made him seem all the larger, too. Keeping Jill in one clawed hand, he looked calmly to Leon and Kaden. "Is this your idea of trying to kill me?" His red eyes narrowed, and he let his glare bore into Kaden. "Do you have any idea what you're doing?"

Hearing Jill's struggle and cry Kaden's heart nearly stopped in gripping fear for her. He almost ran in there crazed, but this was how the plan was surpposed to work, and it was going well. He had known that Xavier would be onto them, and he had explained that to Jill and Leon while planning for this day. They waited weeks so he would get the inclination of what they were doing. Following Leon with his gun out he met the mutant's eyes with his own ones as a mask of cold and then smirked. He pointed his gun at Xavier adn then suddenly at Leon, grinning wickedly. "I know what I'm doing... I'm turning the tradors in." he growle and then grinned evily at Leon. This was there plan, get Xavier to trust him and then while he was unexpecting for Kaden to kill him. He was the most likely to go rouge from these two. They were too stubborn and didn't listen to reason like he did. Now all they had to do was play the betrayed friends... And it would work... Hopefully. Keeping his mental barrier up Kaden waited for the Mutant's reaction.

Leon's expression filled with confusion. Yes, he'd known about the plan . . . but it still felt wrong to have Kaden betraying them. His gun lifted to Xavier, but he glanced at Jill worriedly.

"Lower your weapon, cur."

The soldier hesitantly obeyed upon hearing Jill's weak whimper. She had both of her hands clenching Xavier's wrist, but she was limp in his grasp. Leon threw the gun back toward Kaden when Jill began to writhe and whine. She was in pain. "Fine!" His hands moved up to show he meant no harm, but his gray eyes were locked on Jill. If he hurts her, I will do everything in my power to destroy him here and now.

"Betraying the two people who have accepted you all this time?" Xavier ignored Jill's struggling, but relaxed his grip on her throat once again. He looked past Leon to Kaden, his red eyes curious. Lifting a brow, he tilted his head. "You fought for them just a while ago. It's hard to believe that you've turned on them so quickly, Kaden." He was doubtful - very much so. In fact, he was nearly mocking the blond. "Are you sure you're hear to turn them in, and not help them?"

Kyreian slowly and achingly walked Dante through the process of stitching up her own arm. For having never done it before, he did a surprisingly good job. Or, at least, the parts she remembered he had done well. They were almost done when it happened again. Her eyes lost their focus and she was suddenly gone from the waking world, lost in another black dream.
______

It wasn't until some time later she finally woke up, a dull ache in her arm. Slowly, her blue eyes opened to stare at a ceiling she didn't quite recognize. She thought she had been in the kid's apartment. A frown already set on her face, she slowly brought herself up to a sitting position and looked around. The sheet she had been sleeping on had holes in it. She grimaced, realizing that they were from her and her physical reactions to her dreams. She swung her feet over and placed them gently on the floor. She was about to get up, she really had to use the restroom, when her gem eyes locked onto Dante's sleeping form. With a growl, she stood and practically stomped over to him. Not really caring or thinking about it she gave him a good punch in the arm. "Wake up, moron. Did you kidnap me again?"

(Hope that's alright....)

Dante was sleeping deeply until a sudden pain burst from his arm. "Ow!" Growling, he opened his eyes and glared at Kyreian. Seeing she was awake, his eyes widened in surprise. His anger melted away as he reached up to pull the woman's shirt until she leaned down a few inches from him. "Kidnap? I've put you back where you started, babe." He didn't kiss her - that would have been too much to deal with at the moment.
Releasing the fabric in his hand, Dante stretched. He'd been sitting in a chair near the window, looking out at the street below. He'd fallen asleep leaning against the windowframe hours ago. The silver-haired male stood, using a gloved hand to inspect Kyreian's arm. "Feeling any better?" His silver eyes filled with amusement as he thought of her anger. He really did love it when she was angry.
