Desi, I suggest you go on dA and google and search for art tutorials. It's good to have a mentor, but while you do not have one you should study and practice drawing as much as you can. I am a traditional artist, but I did try digital art for a while. What personally worked for me was drawing the sketch by hand, scanning it, and tracing over the lineart. It acts like a guide and eventually you'll be able to draw without the guide.

For poses, I suggest posemaniac. They have some really good references for poses. If you have a library, check and see if they have books on anatomy. Anatomy and proportions is really important when it comes to art. You can have a great style, but it never looks right unless you have the proportions correct. Incorrect proportions are okay if you are drawing in a really cartoony style or chibi style.

IMO Kingdom Hearts doesn't suit ds. I bought 358/2 Days for my old ds lite and it just did not work.

Maybe they've improved aspects since then but yeah, stick to PS2.
