Yeah, hopefully he'll make a full recovery! Even though he'll have those nails inside him for the rest of his life, which would make passing through metal detectors a bit awkward. :XD

And yeah, I'm glad it hadn't been worse. Still can't lift my arm up very much, and now I've got my neck added into that...can't really turn it without pain, so I've been walking around with a stiff neck for the most of today. :XD;;

First one I was in a turning lane in the street (not near a light) waiting to turn into this autoshop (of all places... xD) and I thought I was clear, but nope. Hit by a car that popped the front right light out and bent the other car's back bumper all up.
The second accident I just kind of... swerved everywhere and into the ditch, flipped, and landed on the other side of the ditch.
It was one of those big grassy medians for highways. That one was scary. :gonk: I felt like I was dreaming.
The second one is scary! :gonk: Flipping is among one of my worst nightmares in car accidents. Alongside with the car bursting into flames with me still inside...

@Ven: Hiya. :D You'll have to show us some of your work sometime! :eager:

@Ted-san: It was scary in hindsight. Because the flipping I had no control over and it happened so quickly; it wasn't as scary as me swerving on the road. :XD Once I hit the ditch, I closed my eyes and it all just felt like a dream.
Oh gosh, I hope I'm never in a car when it's burning. :gonk:

I'd probably be dazed and maybe stare ahead blankly for a while after the flipping before my mind reboots enough for me to attempt getting out.
Yeah. Definitely wouldn't want to be inside a burning car...especially if I'm still awake. :gonk:

After we landed, I was ready to get out of there! :XD
Burning car reminds me of that guy from Jackass (Ryan Dunn) that got into a car accident and burned.
This is what was left of the car... It doesn't even look like a car anymore, just looks like scrap metal.

:( accidents are horrible things. already i've lost 4 friends (one an ex bf) in car accidents. and sadly they all seemed so preventable... like drunk driving or cell phone use. things like that.

I think the last accident I was in I was four. My family is pretty careful about driving. >_< I don't know any people so I don't know anyone that's been in a accident... well I lie my grandfather once flipped the van. it was pretty bad but he was okay thanks to the seat belt.

accidents are accidents. they just happen. even if you're really safe. that's what scared me so much when I first started driving. like, i knew I could control what i'm doing in my own car but i also knew that I can't control the other driver's around me. it just takes one slip up and you could or someone else could cause small amounts of damage (or none) or lives to be lost. it all depends. just have to be careful. I actually saw two people (walking) get hit today. and it was a hit and run. :( didn't get any plates either just know it was a blue truck. i left them my name and number. but they refused to be helped.

I know that one day I saw a lady in wheelchair and I knew she was going to be hit when she crossed the street when the light told her to. but that light is short and doesn't help at all. sure enough when I was in the hospital waiting on a report for my mother there she was being wheeled in. I felt so bad.

Dang, Ven, that's sad. D: To see someone you know is probably going to be hit.

I agree, Emp. That's the scary thing about driving, you can be doing everything right, but someone else will mess it up. With my mom's accident, the guy was drunk, Ryan Dunn was drunk (I think), another girl we know ended up being sentenced to 10 years in prison because both her fiance and herself were drunk, but she was driving, they got into an accident and her fiance died. It's so sad. =\

so sad. I think I've even seen dateline reports about fast lights that cause people to get hit (especially kids and elderly) and other various news reports (when news is slow) about how some cops even ticket people for being unable to cross the street in the allotted time. I think incidents like that though are few and far between. I can't imagine if I were a cop that i'd ever write up a citation for that...

although people should still be paying attention to people in crosswalks.. i know i always do.. but there's one intersection I go through that it's hard to just because of glare. its literally a blind intersection for me at certain times of the day. I'm always worried and extra slow about going through that one

Yeah I know. Must be some bored/corrupt cops. O .o

People should always be cautious when driving through intersections. If it's hard for you to see, slow down (like you said). I think people just get too comfortable driving (you do it years and years and it doesn't feel like a big deal anymore) and they forget just how much damage can be done with a car and a little slip up. -shakes head-

it really is easy to get comfortable. I know for me, I have a horrible habit of speeding. For a while there I'd catch myself going 100mph a good lot of the time and to me, I just don't even feel it anymore. usually when I'd do it, I wouldn't be changing lanes and there weren't other cars around but still, i know that I shouldn't be even if I do feel like I'm in control of my car at high speeds, there could always be something. you know.. black car with no tail lights that i'm not seeing. so now I have a habit of really using cruise control to slow my speeds. I still set it so its keeping up with other cars (people get so angry when you're no speeding sometimes) but not TOO fast.

Yeah, speeding is definitely something you get used to rather quickly. Though, I find that I'm pretty good at watching my speed (my car feels like it vibrates differently when I get near 75). My car doesn't have cruise control (makes roadtrips fun! xDD), but I totally get you with using that to maintain your speed. And yeah, there are just some areas that it's better to just go with the flow of the traffic. There's one spot where my mom lives that's posted as 35MPH, but people do more like 45-50. Usually I'm very good about going the speed limit (or 5 over), but in those instances, I just go along.
It think it would be more troublesome to be cruising along and suddenly come upon a person going that speed limit.
Driving is so tricky! :gonk:

Hi :) How are you? I'm alright. today is a lazy day. no school. no work. :)

my car doesn't have it but i know others have cruise control that even modifies itself. like if you come up within a certain distance of the car in front of you it'll adjust your speed accordingly. not sure I would trust something that automated though... it sounds so creepy.

I've already talked to the director of my program about it. And I know why too. I'll be getting help with my problem about time management.

was there a huge project you missed? or any chance you can apply for an incomplete and work out turning in big projects.

I felt horrible but once there was just too much going on and I had to take an incomplete in a class. I did have to prove the things that were going on though and that was actually tough to do...

I missed three projects .... And I can't prove anything, no medical reasons. There's no excuse except for the fact that I just have the worst time management....

At the start of the semester yeah ... But actually, I am going to be going to the student center and seeing people about helping me figure out how to manage my time better. Starting that as soon as the second semester starts.
