@Star Valo: I can't do any kind of art, period. XD"
I like Literature in general. XD Annabel Lee is my favourite poem from Poe though. There was another one about strangling someone, I think, but I'm not too sure about that. XD"
Turnip? O_O

I did saw however the film The Pit And The Pendulum based on his short story. Boy was that freaky or what!? I loove old movies back then they didn't have all this technology and their movies still scared the crap out of people. No gore needed just a little psychological playing.

It's most probibly going from the recorded symptoms that Poe died from rabies because he had alot of cats and dogs.
Yes a turnip. It was what was originally carved before the pumpkin was descovered.

If I'm right, it was the Druids who used to carve Turnips into skulls.
It was said that if an evil spirit came back from the dead, the person would carve turnips into the shapes of skulls and place them around themselves for protection. <3 They'd also dress up as someone else, to confused the spirit into thinking they had the wrong person.

Carved turnip with a light in it would protect you when you go home from the fields.
No one will ever be sure of what Poe died of, if I remeber rightly they just brushed it off as he died of liver failure.

Yeah you don't want any faries or spirits following you home. Hence your turnip lamp. I bet it was tastey as well.
I've got the bowl of halloween treats :XD

Faeries are playful creatures. They wouldn't do you harm. So yes, I would love for a Faerie to follow me home.
As for evil spirits... I could do without. xD;

Faries are michivious things, that's why you have to be careful round faries circles. Or if you've seen the film Labrynth faries are nasty bitey things.

Those are movies. XD; Unless you've had an encounter with one yourself, I wouldn't call them nasty.
Mischievous, they are. Little tricksters, I tell ya! But still, they aren't harmful.
But thats your opinion. ^^

You can never tell until you get upclose and personal to it.
Number 1 looks better.
