Haha, and my mother told me never to get involved in politics, so....I never have been. Which probably isn't the best thing.
Are you studying that right now? OuO

I don't really watch the news at all, but I tend to be one of those believers sometimes. Nowadays you can't tell reality from something staged. U_U
Oh, and Maiden, are you sailor moon themed? :D

I am :D

I'm sorry maiden, I shouldn't have turned your thread into a debate thread.

I was afraid. He had gone overseas to study and those who knew him talked about his temper. I never said him being in power was good. His father was willing to talk and negotiate... the son is still an unknown.
There was talk about North Korea joining South Korea in a unified country. Not a dictatorship but a democracy. Those talks were destroyed by President Bush. That is what the Koreans tell me.
They also tell me that North Korea isn't as powerful as American news like CNN claim. You can't just run a country the way you want. You have to have power. The power in North Korea is no longer with the dictatorship government... but the black market instead. They are losing their hold over their people. The South Koreans have studied how Germany reunited itself and have been making preparations to absorb the north for years. If Bush had been more respectful and not started spouting off about killing the North Koreans (whom had been treated as a possible ally before that) then the North Koreans wouldn't have become afraid and left negotiations.
American news stations are so incredibly damaging. I'm really tempted a lot to not return.

No, I'm just interested in history. Not big on politics but I almost completed a 2-year degree in economics. I am an economics nut lol I'm actually studying Accounting and possibly Meteorology.

I'm speaking as an American who pays absolutely no attention to the Liberal media (execpt to laugh occassionally). Bush threatened N. Korea because they threatened us first. The only reasons we didn't actually invade N. Korea was 1) it would have hurt S. Korea and 2) The dictator (I'm sorry I have no hope of spelling his name..) was bluffing. Bush didn't "spout off about killling N. Koreans." He was only protecting us by showing (not telling) that we will not be threatened. That is from the American stations (and European, British). They absolutely hate Bush, Reagan, and Republicans in general.
And I'm going to get off now before I say something that will hurt those I love! I have been listening to anti-conservative propaganda all night and I want to go to bed and visit dreamland where it really doesn't make sense :P
Good night all!

Sleep well.
Yeah, live in another country for a year and suddenly the details of what happened shifts. We don't have the same story here that Americans have. That isn't what happened according to the news here. A lot of things about world events are not the same. That is why people who live overseas are so different in their thinking when they return to the states.

I have seriously considered at least visiting a country (a long visit obviously) in the last few years for that very reason. Who knows what may happen :)
Ok, now I'm headed to bed! lol
