@Kenric: Woo! I'm glad you're liking the event. We've had some people complaining that they don't like having to post to get the event items, and while I know it's kind of a chore to post sometimes (as I'm a lurker at heart), I think it's been nice to get out and chat with people I don't know. I don't have enough time to do it anymore. I feel like this event is helping the community become more tight-knit, which is something I think we definitely need. :D

@Pou: OH really? I had no idea! Were you on 'winter' break before that? How does school work in Australia? Here we get a 'summer' break and it's going on right now. Do you guys get a 'summer' break in December/January?

I'm doing pretty good. Just sent my oldest off for her first day of high school and have decided to come out from the layers to chat a bit.

Oh wow, they get so old so fast! XD Was she nervous about it or anything? Man, I remember being a freshman. Everyone seemed so much older than me. XP That's kind of exciting. What classes is she taking?

I'm doing pretty alright I suppose -- feeling paranoid about having a UTI, but I think it's just all in my head. I do feel better today -- haven't had to use the bathroom as much at least. I've been downing cranberry supplements like there's no tomorrow. XD If anything, they'll at least give me peace of mind. I don't have any pain or anything -- just this strange pressure in my lower stomach/bladder that makes me feel like I've gotta pee. And no, it can't be pregnancy. :rofl: I just got off the rag... Wow, I have no sense of shame or too much information...

I don't think I've ever had a UTI. My daughter has. Enough so that they did all kinds of tests and scans and whatnot to see if they could pin point the source. She ended up having to take antibiotics for 6 months. It finally went away but damn. That was some scary shit.

The boy started school on Tuesday. So far so good.

She is afraid of getting lost so she printed out a map of the school and put where her classes were and everything. She's a little overwhelmed I think because she just got out of a school where 100 were in her graduating class and she is now going to a school with over 400 freshman.

Yeah, I've had several of them, and this doesn't feel like they usually do. Last time I went in and had a urineanalysis done, they didn't find anything, so I really think this one is just a figment of my imagination too. But they can be really serious if they go untreated. Wow, six MONTHS of antibiotics? :shock: That's a LOT. Danggggg. I'm glad that it finally went away. :D

I try to stay away from antibiotics as much as possible. A year ago I was taking them every other month for a strain of tonsillitis that refused to go away.

So you're all alone in the house again now? That must be a nice break. They didn't cause you too many problems this summer, did they? XP

Yeah, going to a larger school can be pretty intimidating. Sounds like her school is about the same size as mine was... and yeah, there were a LOT of people. :sweat: I'm sure she'll do fine. The map was a good idea.
