Dae looked at Atticus as he spoke the words about preparation. "Your right. Hes too eager about it. Its not like you can kill your friends overnight." She said almost echoing his thoughts. Looking down at the folder on the side table of her bed she thougth of how close Atticus was to Darius. She didnt want to see him emotionally and mentally distroyed. He was right. He wasnt ready to kill Darius and the others. They could focus their efforts on the ones that flooded the guild that werent people that they truly cared about. She did something she thought she would never do as she thought about The pain Atticus would be in for killing his old friend. Running up to him she embraced the now neutral elf from behind. She was trying to comfort him though she didnt know how he would react... Suddenly she just let go and turned around. "Im sorry... I.. I shouldnt have done that." She said knowing he was going to leave and face Cain. She would go with him incase he needed her.

The half-elf's breath caught when Daeman embraced him, stiffening. He glanced at her over his shoulder when she apologized, his gray eyes full of something akin to wonder. "Come with me," he said, more of a statement than a question. "Cain will go easier on us if there's more than one." Atticus stepped forward then, pulling the door open quickly. Cain did not like to be kept waiting.
Cain sighed to himself, giving Veata's heartstone a slight tug on it's chain. She would do as he asked, though she seemed . . . different recently. The guild leader turned to the door upon hearing quiet footsteps approach - Atticus. Cain was facing the door when a light knock sounded through the room, and the door opened silently.
"Enter quickly," the tall man hissed, clasping his hands behind his back. "I don't have time for hesitation or dilly dallying."
Cain's blue-green eyes settled on the woman that followed the assassin, and he sighed to himself. "Why is she here, Atticus? When I call for you, I don't want to see all of your companions."
((And now I wait to see if Dae followed Atticus . . . though I know she most likely did. ;)))

Daeman noticed something changed in him as she followed. She knew Cain didnt like to be kep waiting and Atticus was right that he would go easier on him if there was more than one person there. But she also knew that when Cain calls a person in to him he means just that person. She would have to see what he says. Her silver hair swayed as they made their way to the mans door. Atticus knocked and Cain answered as he opened the door. Cains blue green eyes settled on her when they walked in. He didnt seem to approve of her presence and it became clear when he spoke. She of course didnt answer for Atticus knowing things would get worse if she did. He was speaking to Atticus not to her.

Atticus inclined his head, looking to Cain with a neutral expression. "She is here out of my request."
The guild leader raised an eyebrow. "She can stay then. I do enjoy seeing a bit of spirit out of you occassionally," Cain said, turning to the fireplace. "Though doesn't make it appropriate." His turquoise eyes narrowed. "The both of you have information on this uprising, do you not?"
The assassin nodded slowly.
"Good. I would be disappointed in you if you hadn't heard of it by now."
Atticus frowned, keeping his gray eyes on his master.
"I expect you to do something about this soon. Tonight is when you should start."
The half-elf blinked slowly, keeping his form still. "I am not ready for Darius," Atticus admitted quietly, his eyes finally lowering. "I can't kill him so soon."
Cain's eyes widened, and he smiled slightly. "I didn't expect you to defy me," the tall man paused, "but I will give you another week. Two weeks, Atticus. If you cannot get them all killed off by then, then you are of no use to me. I will kill you myself." With a quick wave of his hand, the guild master went to sit behind his desk. "Leave."
Atticus lowered his head, a solemn nod, and grabbed Daeman's wrist as he stepped past her, pulling her along until they were out of the room. The half-elf stayed silent until they were back to Dae's room. "He's getting soft," he hissed under his breath, closing the door behind them. He didn't know what else to say though. The assassin rested a hand on the thick door, sighing to himself.

Daeman was glad that Cain had allowed her to stay but it also meant that he was getting softer than usual. What was going on with the man. Cain also mentioned himself as being happy to see Atticus' spirit. For one thing she had never known him to be happy. Another he always hated when Atticus showed any spirit of any kind, such as standing up against him. Daeman also nodded to the berly man who stood facing the fire place when he asked about the uprising rumors. She didnt know what to think when Atticus frowned at the next statement. She wanted desperately to hold his hand saying that she was here for comfort but restrained herself of course. When Atticus stated the truth about not being able to kill Darius, she knew that Cain would most likely get angry and strike him. But to her suprise he was calm and subtle about the situation. He gave them another two weeks to get it done. Of course Cain threw in the threat of killing him if he didnt but she could tell that this Cain wasnt the same strong evil man. What was changing him so drastically? Before she could say or do anything Atticus took her by the wrist, leading her out of the room, up the stairs, to her own bedroom. When they entered he said three words. Those three words ran through her mind like deer trying to escape from a lion. "Ive noticed." She stated, not knowing what to say besides that.

"Two weeks," the half-elf shook his head. "I don't know if-" Atticus cut himself off, pushing away from the door. "I've known Darius for a long time," he said quietly. Moving over to Daeman's bed, he sat down, letting his head sink into his hands. This was a time when loyalty, no matter how poorly placed, was challenged. The assassin sighed, shaking his head again. "This is going to take . . . time." His gray eyes were closed, but the slight tremor in his voice gave his feelings away. He didn't want to do this.

Daeman went over to him and placed a hand on his back for comfort. She circled the bed to come behind him. As soon as she was there she started to massage his shoulders to relieve tension. "We must start the attack tonight. Im here for you so we both can get this done the way he wants it done. Yes it will take time but he is testing you to see if you can do it." She said trying to comfort him. Knowing it wasnt working very well she let out a soft sigh. "Two weeks isnt long at all but would you defy him?" She asked not trying to see if he was loyal but to see if he truly was up for the task or not.

Atticus appreciated her efforts to calm him, but couldn't keep his mind away from his upcoming task.
"But would you defy him?"
Letting out a soft groan, he leaned back into Dae's hands. "No," he said softly. "I'll do as he says." It sounded like he was convincing himself, but when he spoke again, he sounded a bit more certain. "I will do what Cain tells me."
The half-elf closed his eyes, letting out a long breath. Silently, he thanked Daeman for being him - though said nothing. If he was alone, he would have hesitated. As it was, she was right - they needed to start tonight. It was time to become the dealers of Cain's ruling. It was time to become dealers of death.
His hand slipped to one of his sheathed daggers, and Atticus frowned. Once again he chose to wait - to procrastinate.
Looking back, the half-elf nodded his appreciation. And then closed his eyes as he lost himself in her massage, taking the time to enjoy it wholeheartedly.

Daeman was happy that he was was trying to convince himself that he would not defy the man who had taken him. She kept up with the massage as he leaned back into her. Knowing he was finally calming, she smiled as he thanked her without a word. It made her feel needed again. They would have to start tonight but Cain never said where. "We can start with the weaker defiants and work our way up" She strategized knowing he was finally enjoying his time. "We will start after dinner alright? This way we can make progress and get use what we are doing before we must get after them. Does this work for you?" She asked to see if he would like this better than thinking of only Darius himself.

"I have no problem with killing," Atticus said quietly. "And starting with the weaker rebel's sounds like a good idea." The half-elf sighed, opening his eyes slowly. "The new recruits are easily swayed. I suggest we start there - the people training them are bound to have a few traitors in their midst."
His hand darted down to brush against his blades.
"After we eat, we should go." The assassin nodded, as though finalizing the the thought in his own mind. Looking over his shoulder, Atticus blinked slowly. When had Dae gotten so beautiful? It startled him, and his breathing caught for a moment. Turning away from the woman, he fought to hide the slight dusting of blush that covered his features. Had he really been so caught up in his work that he hadn't noticed the people around him changing so much? The half-elf blushed even more as he let his mind dwell on such things.

Daeman smiled as she heard he was agreeing with her. She then saw him blush after he had looked at her. She couldnt help but notice that. It was so visible from the usually emotionless man. She finished massaging his shoulders and leaned in. "Well now that your feeling better we should go eat. Then we must go to the younglings and make sure they are being taught correctly to find the traitors." Her smile got bigger as she got up. Her hair had come down a bit as her silvery bangs swayed to the left like they usually should have. She took down her hair as she walked towards the door and brushed her hands through it. Turning to Atticus again she started to put her hair up. "I hope they cooked something good tonight. We might need it towards the end" She said assuredly.

The assassin stood quickly, nodding in agreement. He stepped around Daeman, opening the door and slipping out. Waiting for the woman to follow, Atticus headed in the direction of the training grounds. Despite the cold weather, the new recruits would be trained outside.
From merely observing, it was easy to see which of the instructors was against Cain - nearly half of them were training rebels. The half-elf drew his blades, waiting for the lessons to end. It wasn't right to slaughter people in front of the new guild members . . . it would scare them off faster than anything.
When the classes began to disperse, Atticus nodded to Daeman. "Meet you in the kitchen when they're dead." With those words, the assassin flicked his hood up and drew his blades, a grim smile on his face as he spun to confront the first of the men. This wouldn't take long.

Daeman followed with a smiled towards the training grounds. She had grabbed her long black trench coat she had made along the way just for the hell of it. Putting it on it slipped around her concealing everything she had and formed against her slender figure. When they got to the training grounds the classes started to disperse. She knew some of the trainers who were traitors and thought to herself that this might be fun and worth the blood lust she had in her. The men who were against Cain were left behind. The Trainers who were with them left in the name of Cain to say they wernt against them. The others knew what was going to happen. She went up to the one that had trained her. He was against Cain as well but knew that the recruits had to know how to fight even if it was for Cain. "Nice to see you again Zeke."
"Dae. You never come visit me anymore. For advice or anything. So whats the special occasion?" He asked knowing full well what was going on. He had always been her mentor, whether for advice or more lessons.
Daeman looked at her old master then at Atticus waiting for him to strike first. None of the Assassins would run. It wasnt in their nature. Now it was the two elite assassins verses the many trainers who were about the same level. How this would turn out she didnt know but it would be interesting.

Atticus stepped closer to the first trainer, motioning him over as though to whisper something - only to slit his throat when he complied. Moving away from the dead man, the half-elf dodged a thrown weapon before rolling toward his next prey.
"Cain demands judgement," he growled, shoving his blade into the nearest opponent's leg. In all, there were about a dozen men - against two trained assassins. Moving quickly, Atticus felt the battle's rage overcome him . . . he would not lose.
Spinning around the man that had fallen, the assassin disarmed another, quickly delivering a killing blow. He moved on again, one smooth flow as he aimed for his next target. This was how it had to be. This is what happened to traitors.

Daeman attacked at the same time Atticus did with a swift chop to the mans neck. It split open his air way making it hard to breathe. She hated the man after all he had actually done to her. She made him bend over and hit him in the face as she stuck a dagger in the mans spinal cord. 4th lumbar down. The abdomidal aorta. The blood gushed out as she kicked the next victim in the face with a jump. He was coming to attack her so she had to give him a suprise. The blade in her boot popped out on time as she hit his face. She was covered in blood. She moved from person to person as the trainers were killed easily. Looks like they didnt have any good training to give to the kids if they could only fend off one or two attacks. She got slashed in the arm as she snapped the neck of one of the guys. Wheres that other assassin. the dark one. At a time like this. She thought to herself as she recognized the bloodbath to be the same as the tavern almost.

[Hey everyone! This is Freebie Fairy's main. I'll be playing Darius from this toon from now on. *hugs* He's going to be moving through the city from bar to pub to tavern so if anyone wants to maul him... ;D
I wonder what happened to Rae? I'm still assuming she's wandering with me.]
The older gentleman steadied his hand on the worn counter in front of him as he gave a moment to think back only a matter of hours. "Mmh, no, not since yesterday, I don't suppose... Yes, I believe the men you're talking about have already moved on. Four tall men and a shorter one... a rather scrappy lad?"
Darius shook his head "No, there would have been two riders, the others have homes here."
"I don't know what to say," he sighed with a mixture of annoyance and understanding. This was a hell of a place to try and find two, what sounded like very average men outside of the fact that they were North-men. "What were their names?"
"That's no good, they have lots of names."
"But you said there were only two of them."
Darius rubbed his eyes and turned his body toward the door "Great deeds are awarded with new names. We go by the one which we feel fits us best and these two are perhaps the most fickle minded heroes I've run into. Maybe... Astor, Haakon?" The publican shook his head again and politely turned Darius outside to his fourth stop in search for the other riders.

"What do you mean Zeke is dead?" Veata asked in a hushed tone. Her disbelief in the teacher's passing clearly showing in her eyes.
"Well, that's what I heard. And no one's seen him since his classes this afternoon." Marco replied, taking a swig of his beer. "Eh, maybe he just made a run for it. You know how he's against Cain. No doubt the boss has sent assassins after him. I just hope the rumors are wrong and he's still running on live legs."
"I guess..." muttered Veata as she cast her eyes down to her leg of lamb. She also hoped Zeke was a living deserter instead of a dead guild member. "Thanks Marco." she said, faking a smile.
"Anytime!" the black haired man replied merrily. "As long as there's free beer involved!" He raised his mug to Veata and the djinn tapped it with her own glass. Treating the highly informed man to a free drink was one of the best ways to receive up to date news.

[I don't want her to feel left out, but if that's what we have to do to best keep up with the rest of the game we probably should. If she does come back I'd like to try to work out some plot to welcome her back more than have her just following us around- as fun as that sounds! ; P]
"Haakon, yeah we had one of those- and another man traveling with him, just a little smaller... Messy fellows..." Darius grinned widely at the inn keeper and gave the man's arm a strong pat. "They're about town now, but if they come by I'll tell them you were looking for 'em."
"That would be perfect! They're probably in a bar by now, the sun's getting a little low..."
The innkeeper nodded and pointed out the direction he had seen the pair wander off last. With another few thank you's the rider was on his way to collect his wayward friends and explain the situation. It wasn't too much longer before Haakon gave Darius a strong clap on the back and grinned over Darius' own shoulder.
"Word around is that you've been looking for us... tell me, how much trouble have you managed to sink into this time, Johannes?"
"It's Darius now, and it's not me so much as the rest of the village. If we get somewhere quiet I'll explain more-"
Haakon's eyes twinkled as he cut in, "Why I'd love a drink, Darius! How thoughtful. There's a nice little pub over yonder we haven't tried." He chuckled and lead Darius by the shoulder into the doorway.

Atticus held the last trainer under his blade for a few moments, catching his breath. "You die because of your betrayal," he hissed, slitting the man's throat. Looking over to Daeman, he nodded, his hood falling farther over his eyes. Their job there was done.
Passing by his friend, he whispered a few words to her. "I'll meet you in your room after cleaning up." Turning, he headed the long way to his room . . . just in case anyone was foolish enough to follow. Not that he was trying to hide his actions. He wanted the guild knowing that he was a death dealer - Cain's blade of judgement. Leaving all of the slaughtered trainers as they were, Atticus headed for his room. He needed to get out of his bloody clothing, clean his soiled blades.
With a final nod to Dae, his slipped amongst his guildmates.

Daeman looked at the man as he whispered in her ear. She knew that he was starting to get the blood lust he had use to have whenever in a fight. She would clean up the mess so that Cain wouldnt get too upset with them. He hated bloody messes being left where they were. She started to gather the dead bodies together and burned their carcauses after they were in a pile. Lucky for her the floor was made of stone and the roof was to high in the room for a fire to start in the guild besides that. She was now a death dealer as well. They had to show what would happen to those who went against Cain and his ways. As the fire started to grow she walked towards the now staring crowd. Her trench coat was closed as she walked and they made way for her. She was not bothered by anyone ever again after that as she went up to her room. She took off her soiled clothing underneath the trench coat for she had it open when she fought. Wiping the blood off the trench coat was easy. It was her clothing that would be the hard part of wiping off the blood. She checked her drawers for any clothing she could where that she could fight in. Unfortunately most of her clothes were blood spattered. The only clothing she had left were black. They consisted of the black pants she hated and a skirt. Her shirts were tank tops or her assassin shirts. This was getting annoying. She put on her assassins shirt that was black and the skirt. I dont mind fighting in a skirt but who ever looks. Itll be the last thing they see. She thought to herself as she started washing the blood out of her hair.

Atticus knocked softly on Daeman's door before slipping inside. He was clean, though he didn't feel it. He still felt the lives of the men he had slaughtered, still felt their blood on his hands. This was no way for an assassin to think. Looking to his companion, the half-elf stepped up behind her to take her hair in his hands. Moving it away from her own grasp, he began to comb out the snarls with his fingers.
"The other targets will be wary," he said after a few minutes of silence. Continuing to brush through Daeman's hair, he frowned. Things would be harder. But that was part of the fun.

To Daemans suprise, after the knock on her door, Atticus came in and started brushing her hair for her with his fingers. She felt the deep regret for killing the men they had just slaughtered, in his voice. She knew what might be going through his head. Standing still so the man could continue brushing her hair to his desire, she spoke "That will just make it harder. We can do this and we will do this. Besides the fights will be fun." The regret afterwards not so much. She didnt want to say what she thought to the man hoping his spirits would heighten with just the first part.

"Alright well those will be easy" Daeman said. She was glad he was behind her because she also had a pained expression on her face. It almost showed in her voice had she not covered it a bit. She closed her eyes while his hands were on her shoulders. It was harder to kill traitors than she had thought. Not only were they killing people but they were killing within their own borders. It hurt a bit but she knew she had to do it to help Atticus. "I forgot to tell you i burned the bodies." She said. The image was imprinted in her mind as plain as day. "Maybe we should rest before we go after the next batch" Turning around she stared into the mans face with a slight smile.

[I guess you're right :)]
"But you know" the blue haired man continued in a more serious tone. "Zeke wasn't the only one who disappeared today. A few others did as well. It seems like there are some people who knew what happened to them but when I tried to ask, they kept their lips shut. Only people I know who can keep secrets like that are those with something to fear and those who are really loyal. Now, I know new recruits can't be anything too faithful to a guild they just joined but they sure were awful scared of something. Or someone." Marco stared down his mug dismally. "Be careful Veata. The last time people disappeared like this was when Cain became our guild leader and a bunch of your friends stood up to him." He took a deep chug of his beer. "That Dark Sky was a fool to think he could fight all of the guild assassins at once."
Veata gripped her cup tightly, her eyes closing as she heard Marco's last words. This bothered reaction clearly got the informant's notice for he quickly changed the subject.
"Sorry." he hastily muttered. "Anyway, I heard the captain of the guards has been replaced. Nobody knows why. Nobody outside our guild of course. You know how Cain has always disliked the guard leader." He lowered his voice to a near whisper, the smell of alcohol escaping his lips. "And I also heard that there's another guild rebellion under way. A certain someone has been recruiting enemies of the guild master against him. You wouldn't know anything about it would you lady djinn?"
"No." was her flat reply, taking another bite out of her lamb. She already knew he was fishing for information. Maybe he's decided to work as one of Cain's many eyes and ears. Marco was definitely one of the best and longest lived snitches she had ever met. But she truly did not know if he was referring to her secret efforts or someone else's.
"That's good to know." the guild member said, returning to a more merry mood. "Wouldn't want you to get caught up in that sort of nasty business. After all, your not as hard to kill as you used to be."
"Thanks for the advice, oh wise canary." she said with a grin and raised her mug to him.
"Anything for you, my fair lady" he replied with a grin and clinked his glass to hers. Finishing the rest of his drink in one gulp, the blue haired man stood up and prepared to leave. "Sorry to have to leave like this. Got work to do, people to look for and all that. Take care of yourself Veata."
"You as well Marco." Veata watched as the blue haired informant left the pub, vanishing into the crowd outside. She sighed before continuing with her meal.
