I'm not going to do a craft challenge this year (too many other things to do) but I'm excited to see what everyone else makes!

The quilt looks like it's shaping up well, BSW.

I love those colors together! I can't wait to see the quilt when you finish it. :)

I finished one skein today but I didn't finish the item yet. I made a pot holder for my mom but I need to seam it closed and sew in the ends. I have two skeins of the same colorway left, and I'm looking for a washcloth pattern to go with the pot holders.
We just moved into a couple months ago so I decided to make some kitchen stuff and I found a green, yellow, and white yarn I thought would look nice in the kitchen.

I want to but I just moved states again (like, two days ago ) and am feeling extremely disorganized.. lemme get a few more of these box towers out of the way and I'll hopefully have a more positive answer.

Krazz has used up 1/40 skeins

Bargh... I haven't been feeling good and all I can manage to do is a couple rows on a dishcloth but I did use up one skein.
Micheals had a sale on most of their yarn and I got a bunch of cotton yarn in a teal, green, yellow, and white color that goes nice with our surroundings, so I'm making hot pads and dishcloths for the new house.
I think I have 4-6 skeins so enough for at 2-3 hot pads and a bunch of dishcloths. Oh and I'm making up the patterns as I go. I have a purple, blue, and white cotton yarn that I'm using to see if I like the pattern and then if I like it then I use the green/teal yarn.

well thats great! one down! and one month down! if you are going to do 40, you might want to do more than one a month though ;) but its a great start! i forget that micheals sells yarn... i dont go in there a lot because they are so much more expensive for the exact same items. but sometimes they have some unique stuff! i got my fox fabric there.

edit:

so bloomers happened! yay!

Micheals tends to be more expensive so I only get yarn when it's on sale or with the 40% off coupons.
I'm almost finished another skien and I have some plans for more yarn so I should be able to pick up my pace. I'm mostly making things out of cotton right now and I'm trying to find a hat pattern that using two yarns. The problem is I only have half of one skein and most of the patterns I like use more yarn that I have. :(

oh, i dont know much about knitting to be honest. are there many projects that you can do with only one skein?

Yay! 4/40 skeins.

bloodstainedwings

It depends on how much yardage you get in the skein and how many grams/ounces the skein is. For example wool is lighter than cotton, so you would get more yardage in a 100gram skein of wool than you would cotton.
I'm currently making some dishcloths/hot pads and I can get one hotpad per skein or two dishcloths because the hotpad's use more yarn.

wow. It's been a while since I've been on here. I haven't had a chance to really work on anything (Time), and I would have been working on different things but I don't like to take a chance of passing on my illness through the yarn to someone else (especially since a few of them are for babies). I'll probably be on a bit more since I'll be having a surgery soon (next week).

Usually, I'm giving stuff away as gifts, but I've also sold quite a few of my crafts. So maybe that's something to keep in mind, Shadami.

I've bought a couple things from people on etsy. There is also ebay. I couldn't tell you much about selling on either of those sites, unfortunately, because I haven't sold anything on them. Mostly the people that I've sold to are coworkers and friends.

BSW you made that totoro dress right? And than had a wedding job you picked up? Or am I thinking of someone else with my really foggy memory...

Anyways, that's awesome! I can't wait to see them. I finished the first hat for my little nephew. I can't get a picture of it up until Sunday, but its super cute. I still have a ton of yarn left though so I'm thinking I'm going to try to make a 'my brother size head" one and maybe try out that string things that hang down with the tassles.

I also picked up a scarf square form thingy. And hubby wants a ravenclaw scarf, so i have to figure out how to tassle the ends.

Well i'm about to work on it after I finish catching up on posts from the last couple hours while I was away checking out a house. I'll take some pictures as I go perhaps. :] can't upload them until I get home though.

btw, I LOVE your clothes. I'll check out your etsy some time. Perhaps I'll order some dresses for my girls. Mary especially would love some studio ghibli dresses. She would wear them all the time. She's about to turn 4. it may be a nice gift I could get her. I can probably spend the money on something like that :3

that sounds awesome! i would love to make a little girl dress! i just finished making tonka truck pj's for my nephew, he is turning 3 next week! i hope he loves them. but it was a lot of fun making something so little! and that totoro dress was super easy and fun to make, making a little version would be super fun!

thank you so much for liking my stuff. i work really hard on them and sometimes i feel like all the frustrations arnt worth it, but then i read something like this and it really does seem worth it in the end.

so this house, are you buying a house? or renting?
