Tell them they have to wait until they're taller then a great dane. That should give you a few years.

No no. Your two year old is absolutely right. You need a dog.

Unless you guys can't take care of one? D:

xD they have to be bigger then the dog itself to take care of it! How else are they gonna learn responsibility? owo b See all works out!

We cannot afford a dog here. Well I mean we could, but timewise we can't. Too busy.

I think its possible for a child to take care of a larger animal, but its not something I'd recommend as a starter animal either.

Exactly. Smaller is probably better. (I would actually suggest fish... I couldn't take care of fish so... I never graduated to a bigger pet) >>

I'm stressed enough being pregnant on top of keeping up with the house and my two year old!! I can not handle a dog right now. I will go insane - well not literally - if we got a dog now... so no. I am putting my foot down. NO dog. Not now at least.

LOL. Its a good idea to work up slowly. But I think a dog is okay as long as the parent is very stern about not letting the kid slack off.

Maybe later, and with my luck she'll forget by the time that I'll be ok with getting one - less work for me!!

Dystopia: My daughter is 2... All the work with the dog will fall on me or my husband.

I don't think small children ever forget about wanting a dog.

I partially blame my brother for Norah wanting a dog - they recently got a puppy... which Norah has fallen in love with.

I actually wanted a cat as a kid. xD

I like dogs but cats can take care of themselves.

@Moonlit
Puppies are the weakness for everyone! I always walk away from puppies feeling like I need to go buy one myself. xD

I love cats, too.

They're a little more independent, but they need care too. D:

I'm just a child who wasn't a huge fan of dogs. They were ok, but I wanted something small, but I'm allergic to cats. :(

We go over to my brother's place right after they got the puppy, and he came bounding out of the living room and surprised Norah, and she fell down and instead of crying like we all thought she would, she started laughing as the puppy attacked her with licks and snuggles. At least my brother lives in the same apartment complex. Maybe she can get her dog fix over there for now.

Awhh. How cute! I love puppies. <333

D: Just be sure that she doesn't hurt puppy and puppy doesn't hurt her. Both of them need to learn to be good to each other, so they can be good friends with no one worrying. :D

Oh, we never leave them alone together, and we monitor them closely. Don't worry! :]
