Yessss - emergency gallbladder surgery 2 weeks ago - what I thought was the flu for a month and a half (had a major head cold for 2 weeks just before I started getting sick) was actually a series of gallbladder attacks that got increasingly worse (had them just about every other day). It was a nightmare!

Ended up in the ER on a Tuesday, there all night. Came home Wednesday afternoon and called the surgeon's office after the ER discharged me and told me it wasn't a big deal. Got into the surgeon's office Thursday, set the surgery date for Monday. Back in the ER Thursday night and they admitted me into the hospital before doing emergency surgery Friday at noon (first opening they had that morning). Apparently I was screaming so loud the entire hospital wing and ER could hear me when I was in those areas - it was bad. Gave me Fentanyl and it lasted like 10 minutes tops and I was screaming again. Let's just say I never wish that pain on anyone

I go back to work tomorrow so we'll see how I survive! It's a half day so it hopefully won't be too bad, and then I have a day off in between my 9-5 days so hopefully that'll help ease me back into it and be enough of a break time to get me back to where I can do my full shifts each day. It'll be interesting, that's for sure lol!

Luckily my bosses are super understanding though and are working with me on my recovery - sucks about the paychecks though because I'm paid hourly, so if I don't work I don't get paid, and I don't get paid sick time either, so I have to get back to work but recovery is slow :( Although in talking to a couple of people today apparently I'm actually doing well! Everyone keeps telling me 1 week and I should be fine, 2 weeks tops and I'll be back to normal. Yeahhh I'm on week 2 and still feel like I'm dying soooooo....

Emma, I was in the hospital for 5 days when a gallstone got out and caused massive problems with my pancreas and liver. Not a whole lot of fun. Dilaudid was the pain med them gave, and it worked for 4 hours and then I needed another dose. Not the greatest way to live your life, waiting for that next round of pain meds.

Ohh no that sounds horrible. I know how bad gallbladder problems can be. My sister in law had it bad, she had just gone to Australia with her fams a few years back and got so sick they couldn't fly to perth from sydney. They had to stay where they were for a few days before her tummy settled down. But she had a pretty shit holiday because of it all. She has her gallbladder out now. But what she went through was horrendous.
I can imagine the pain though, i've given birth hahaha. Although i never got to the push a baby out through my hooha, but the contractions alone are excruciating. But not near as bad as when i got an abscess in my c-section wound and they had to change the dressing every 2 days. They literally had to hold me down & give me gas. xD

That is correct. I vaguely remember that from when my manager's daughter was over there in NZ being a nanny. Emma would call us at 1 pm our time and it was 10 am her time, but the next day.

Ahh i see, yes that would make sense it's currently daylight savings so an extra hour. :)
