thanks! i have been working a long time on that. i think im at about 6 hours into it.

i just have to sew those 4 by 4 blocks into 8 by 8 blocks. and then attach the pockets. then attach the 8 by 8 blocks to each other. and then attach the lining... and cut out the waist and then add the waist band. and then its done. so like 4 more hours.

here it is:
*random noises of joy/frustration*
teach me your quilting ways!! i was litterly talking about quilting earlier and how i didn't know what the thingy you put on the inside is... nor how to poke my sewing machine into working cause it has all those weird doohickeys you have to wind the string through before its even workable.

lol. shadami. you are the best. this is not a quilt, its a skirt. but it is patchwork.

the inside of s quilt is called "batting" and its normally cotton and poofy.

to thread a sewing machine you have to look at it, normally they put instructions on the machine as to how to thread it. one day when you are available and i am available, ill chat over discord with you and help you out.

fabric is very expensive. its far worth it to buy clothing. but the trade off is that you are supporting child/slave labour that way. so that is a choice you make every day. i do too. and what are the choices right?

Fabric can certainly be expensive!
I just got a sewing machine this year for cosplay stuff and I'm still too intimidated to use it. xD

I'll definitely do that, bsw!
Because I'd rather learn to make stuff and have it fit me perfect than buy something and have it not quite be right, you know? There's so much more control in crafting it yourself. And while I've had success in purchasing previous costumes for the most part... i'm looking forward to finally making them!

I'd like to learn but I would have to learn to make patterns of my own for my body shape
maybe not skirts, but shirts, definitely
it just gets overwhelming the more i think about it

my school skipped home ec for me. We were to half 2 quarters of cooking and than 2 quarters of home ec in 7th grade. when my class got to 7th they decided they would change that class so that half the class takes one in 7th and the other in 8th and the other half takes vice versa. I got cooking class, was all excited for home ec in 8th cause its the one I wanted to take. 8th grade.... they switched it back cause it was a stupid decision, but didn't give us the other class at all!!! So i never got home ec :(

so i'm completely useless with a sewing machine.

heck yeah! start simple. with a skirt. and then move to a dress. stay away from things like fitted pants. that shits hard. and no corsets. they look awesome but are hard as fuck to make. if you need help making a cosplay into something easy and fun that yo can wear year round, im pretty good at ideas. im working on a pusheen cosplay for halloween this year, but i wanna wear it all year

well if you want, i can try to help. re-sizing is good for going small but complicated for going big.

i usually need to go much bigger in the hips, thighs and bust.
my waist is pretty narrow comparatively so i like to have everything pulled in there and it gets really hard to do all the things

For those who were asking:
In truck day, we get our inventory on the truck and have to unpackage it and put it away.

what you need is to buy the shirts that fit your biggest part. and then wear a vest that is open chested and fits your waist. that will showcase your tiny waist and allow you to find things that fit. and make things fit that otherwise wouldnt. you can do the same with dresess.
