That certainly sounds rather lame and strange, I'm surprised I never saw it before... then again, I try not to watch too much TV lest I start thinking certain TV shows are actually real... I have done that before... >.>

well, I sort of really get into fantasy shows to the point where I sometimes think that it's based on real life. then I find myself looking around for danger and hoping no dragons or demons will come after me... it tends to make me rather paranoid at times...

oh sure sure. i like to believe those shows too but it doesn't make me paranoid. watching Law and Order makes me paranoid.

Well the things is I tend to have a VERY OVERACTIVE imagination so I'm almost always roleplaying to a show/game that I like and then I start thinking it's real if I watch/play it too often. Then I get paranoid. Otherwise I'm fairly good at differentiating between reality and fiction. It's only when I start watching my favorite shows too much or playing a game too much that I start thinking it's real... >.<

I think it's an effect of having both ADHD and Asperger Syndrome... >.<

alright, I have ADHD, but what is Asperger?

Asperger Syndrome or Asperger's is known as an ASU (Autism Spectrum Disorder) but it's nothing like autism. Asperger's is much more high-functioning than that in the sense that most people diagnosed with it are actually highly intelligent and many of their mental functions develop early. But it is a 'Developmental Disorder'. People with Asperger's are socially awkward (can't pick up on social cues, can't see/feel the emotions of other people, don't know how to start a conversation or how to approach people to make conversation with) and as such, many Aspies don't have a lot of friends. They are usually focused around a single 'interest' that is a life-hobby, the one thing that they can see themselves doing with their lives. (For me, that would be anything involving Fantasy) They are often so focused on said hobby that they don't take notice of the world around them or their own health and mental state and they often can't talk about anything less than what they're into. But people with Asperger's can make great company considering they have a great sense of vocabulary when compared to people who don't have the disorder.

Technically I wrote that whole 'excerpt' myself, but I think it's most appropriate to put the quotes there anyway... A lot of people tend to think it's not a serious disorder, but it really is... I tend to think, and my councilor agrees with me, that my symptoms are actually a bit mild in comparison to other Aspies. So the interest bit, when added to the ADHD tends to make my mind too overactive for my own good at times... >.<

Yeah, it's not too bad though so no worries... I'm still trying to work on my social skills... face to face that is... otherwise, when I'm online I don't need to worry about most of it... >.<

no, not at all... I think it's the lack of face-to-face social ineraction that allows me to be more, myself, when I'm online. I have no problems with talking to people online but when it comes to rl, I get very nervous and shy and usually end up not saying anything when I want to make friends...
