I hate it when people do that. :<
..just because I'm not reading it now doesn't mean I won't.
But then again, I am no match against teh-almighty-old-people.
So they sold my poor babies to the orphanage. =~=

I usually give away some of my books if I seriously haven't read them in a long long time.
I will NOT however, ever give up my box set of Chobits.

I might give away the romance novels I inadvertently picked up from work (they were free, there was a whole box of 'em.)

@Guivre: Yeah i know movies can become books. My cousins read the Disney's Cheetah Girls things and the Lizzy McGuire books... Which scare me, just a little.
@Cherry: I think I have the too...
@Aislin: It's a bad Wednesday. They changed the room of my class, without telling the students. Since we hadn't met the teacher yet we all sat there, and the English Comp teacher (the guy we thought was our teacher) didn't take attendance till an hour into the lecture. Then went "Oh, there was a room change this morning."
There is a big difference between English 1 comp and Lit theory & Crit. U_U
Only bright side is the Lit teacher is very nice, but that campus is to large to have us running around in the cold.

Heh, I don't have that kind of problem with my books.
..because they're all already donated/sold? :<
Suure..

Yeah, they started giving out free romance novels. It's...um... weird.
They give out free books at Dragon*Con and other conventions, too. I got like, three free books at D*Con this year.

@Gray: Oh my friend goes to AWA every year, unfortunately it's to far south for me. I'm waiting till Otakon in July. Possibly AnimeNEXT in June but don't quote me on that one. xD
I love conventions because dealer's room means manga = $2!
Speaking of conventions, does anyone know of book conventions things on the east coast? I think those would be so much fun (that and last time I cosplayed as a book character no one got it).

Awesome. : D
Unfortunately, I haven't been out too much to know of many conventions. :<
..but who did you cos as/ out of which book? : D
-will probably fail to recognize it too-
Random, but..
..I love to draw book characters. : D
(Maybe not that random because you were talking about cosplaying them? O3O)
The author's already given you a description of the characters, but you can still kind of get creative with them. : D

I can't remember the name of the book because it was a short story in an anthology book I read at the library (I knew it back then when I cosplayed) but the girls name was Miyko and she was a witch. She wore like rock tee's and school skirts with platform sneakers that flames came out of them. xD I think feathers grew out of her face too...
I need to find that book again, I might go to the library tomorrow and search for it, if I do I'll tell you. Curse my bad memory.

Dressing up as book characters is wonderfully fun. You're free to decide the little details for yourself instead of seeing an image clearly define them for you.
I myself am going as a book character to my local conventions this year.

@conventions - i'm already planning for otakon.
possibly even animenext, but i'm not sure about the whole month between them.
not awa, though. plus it would be really sad that i couldn't go with friends.
(although technically, i'm not an east-coaster anymore, i still go to otakon. x3)
awa and dragon*can make me wish i lived in atlanta. D:
the only convention really close to me is coming up in february. worst con time ever.
thanks, ikkicon. you aren't even during my friends' spring breaks.
and there's armadillocon, for sci-fi, and i may or may not go, depending.
but i must go to a-kon. it would be wrong to be living in texas and not go to a-kon.
... YAY CONVENTIONS.
speaking of events, there's a steampunk event coming up at the local goth/punk/alt club but it's only 21 and over. >:[
much sadness.
i will have to wait for the annual zombie walk in october to be involved in something awesome.

Who here has read Tuck Everlasting?
I was just talking about it, and now I want to reread it. The last time I read it was when the movie came out, and I must have been... 11 or 12 at the time. And it isn't a kiddie book, so I think I can reread it without going "Oh god, I LIKED this?!" and having my memory of it forever tainted.

@Cherry: I've read it. I actually didn't like it because I didn't agree with her choice (which I won't say anything about because I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't read it).
