Tony just snorted at her. "I never thought we'd actually use the stairs," he grumbled.

"This floor." Strange had reached the top before them because he'd floated up on a little cloud. No joke. Alexis eyed him enviously as she waited for someone to get the door open so they could go investigate.

Autumn gestured Logan forward to deal with the door. At the moment, small-scale collateral damage like that was the least of her concerns.

Once the door was open, Strange moved inside. For a moment, nothing happened. Not until everyone was in the room, or at least close to. Then the trap activated, flashing once and swallowing the whole group before depositing them in two groups. The two groups were dropped into other parts of the city, quite literally. Alexis fell from a few feet up and swore, grimacing as she took Strange's hand and got to her feet again. Pietro did not look pleased either.

Not even Spidey had managed to catch himself, and ended up on the ground with the others.

"I'm torn between wanting to know what just happened and never, ever wanting to ask," he said as he got to his feet carefully.

Autumn swore colorfully as she was deposited on the ice.

"I hate dealing with magic," she grumbled, "this is not my area of specialty and I don't like it." She got to her feet, trying not to slide too bad on the ice. "Everyone alright?"

"I'll live," Clint said as he got up.

Tony's swearing was answer enough as he got to his feet. "I hate magic," he growled. "I never want to deal with magic again. I do technology and this, this is not okay, this is so not okay, I am going to have Words with Strange later, and they will not be nice words." He brushed himself off, still muttering.

Logan just grunted as he got to his feet, looking around to try and orient himself.

"Everyone okay here?" Alexis asked, looking at the other three. Pietro nodded, although he wasn't too happy to see which group he'd landed in. "Okay. Spidey, come here for a minute, you look like you're about to freeze."

"I'm totally about to freeze," Spidey replied as he went over to her, "and I really, really like all my bits where they are, thanks, I am not at all ashamed to admit that it's like hell froze over out here." He looked over at Strange. "Dude, what happened?"

"A trap," Strange replied. "Hidden beneath a decoy."

"For now, Tony, let's focus on saving the city and everything," Autumn said. "After that, I will personally distract his handler so you can have your Words."

"Good to know. We'll get to that in a minute." Alexis took her beanie off and stuffed it on his head. "You need a jacket too. Come on, let's go find something. Clothes first, dealing with the spell after."

Pietro took the scarf out of his pocket and tossed it over to Spidey too, since he was just fine now.

"You're my new favorite person of the day," Tony said with a forced grin as he looked around. "Well, we're still in New York, that's a plus. It hasn't stopped snowing, that's a down."

"Clothes sound like a wonderful idea," Spidey said, "this is why you're the agent." Catching the scarf, he wound it around his head until only his mask's eyes were showing.

"It's snowing even harder," Autumn said, looking around. "We need to figure this out before the city gets buried."

Alexis chuckled. "Ah, some respect, I never get that." She grinned and led the way over to a store, picking the lock easily and setting down her card on the register so the owner could call her for repayment. For the moment, she grabbed a sweatshirt, pulling it on swiftly and making sure Spidey was getting more clothes too. Pietro and Strange seemed to be fine for now.

"Right, so we need to figure out where all this is coming from," Tony said, looking around. "This would be so much easier if I had my suit." He looked at Clint. "Get up to a vantage point and see if you notice anything odd we should head towards. Preferably something that looks like an evil lair."

Clint raised an eyebrow, but headed towards the nearest building. It took a bit of finagling with the lock, but he was able to get inside. Pretty soon, Autumn was able to see him up on the roof scanning the area.

"Some more of those monsters off to the east," he said when he came back. "But otherwise a whole lot of glacier and nothing."

"Awesome." Tony huffed. "Well, we either pick a direction and start walking, or we see if we can get back to the Tower. Maybe this time I can get communications up again."

Alexis looked at her group once they were ready to go and then looked at Strange. "Any idea where we need to go now?"

"I believe Avengers Tower is the center of all of this," Strange replied. "We should get back there as soon as possible."

"Let's try to get back to the tower," Autumn said. "That's probably the safest place, and we can regroup and make plans there."

Alexis nodded and headed for the tower, though she didn't relax as they walked. She wouldn't relax until all this was over and done with.

And, although she hadn't done much, Pietro found himself annoyed with Alexis. Not for any real, logical reason. Just the same reasons he was usually annoyed with everyone.

"Great. Back to the tower it is." Tony sighed and started trudging through the snow, muttering to himself about magic and messing with his tower.

The way to the tower wasn't as easy the second time around. There were a lot more ice monsters, although those did keep Logan entertained well enough. For the most part, though, it was slow going and bad terrain all around.

The way back was a bit easier for the other group, if only because Pietro went ahead of them and took out all the monsters before they could become a problem.

Finally out of the cold, Alexis took a minute to stop shivering so she could actually ask intelligible questions.

"So now we just wait for the others to show up and go from there?"

"We're here," Autumn said as she came through the doors. "That was ridiculous and if it happens again, I might shoot someone."

"Thank god it's warmer in here," Clint muttered as he got inside as well. He grinned a bit when he saw Alexis and made his way over.

"Good to see you guys didn't get snowed in," Alexis said with a brief grin. She checked to make sure that Spidey was fine (because she hadn't missed his shivering either and his handler wasn't around so she was going to take care of him until they got back) before she looked at Strange.

"Let me guess. Back up the stairs."

Strange just smiled a bit and started floating up. Alexis groaned.

Pietro moved over next to Autumn as soon as she was inside, still scowling a bit.

"Good, you made it back with them," Autumn said to Pietro when she saw him. "I wasn't sure where everyone ended up." She looked at the stairs and sighed, but started climbing.

"We ended up in a group," Pietro said. "It was bothersome."

"Well, that didn't seem to take too long," Alexis said cheerfully, climbing the stairs ahead of Clint this time.

"I imagine it wasn't fun working with unfamiliar people," Autumn said, nodding.

"That was a pain in the ass," Clint corrected. "And colder than hell outside."

"Not at all," Pietro said, shaking his head. "I did not enjoy that." He didn't actually say anything disparaging about Alexis, because he figured Autumn wouldn't approve.

"Poor baby. Here." Alexis unwound her scarf and tucked it around his neck instead. "There. Have some warmth."

"It's alright," Autumn said. "By the way, any idea where your sister is? I would have thought she'd have been here, too."

"Careful about giving handouts to strays," Clint joked, taking the scarf. "They may follow you home and not leave."

"I... don't know." Pietro frowned. "I would have thought she would be here as well, but I have not seen or heard from her yet."

Alexis snorted. "I'm pretty sure you already know where I live when I'm not stealing one of Tony's ridiculously comfortable couches."

"We'll have to keep an eye out, then," Autumn said. "This whole situation smacks of chaos, so if Wanda's not already on top of it, something may have happened."

"I bet if you asked he'd just give you a room," Clint pointed out. "So you don't have to camp out on the couch all the time."

Pietro nodded. "Hopefully we will find her when we find the source of the problem," he said quietly.

"I think the point is I'm not really supposed to be having sleepovers with you lot, even if Coulson hasn't glared at me yet for it," Alexis pointed out. "I mean, how many handlers have you guys had who've been over for dinner?"
