Duke doubled backed. Some guards followed him, but he took them out.

Cassie waited for duke to come in.

Duke made it back into the lab. "It worked, they're gone"

"Good but i am putting the defenses up incase they come back," she said. She then got adam a bottle of blood and fed him.

Adam sucked on the bottle. "So, are we really the last vampires on earth?" Duke asked.

"I don't know. there could be some that escaped the cure but i wouldn't know for sure," she said.

"I guess that makes our family one in a million" Duke put his arm around Cassie.

"we are one in a million either way," she said with a smile.

Adam finished his bottle and reached for Duke. "Come here, little guy"

Cassie handed adam to duke. "my two little men," she said with a smile.

Duke held Adam in his arms. "Dada" Adam said.

Cassie smiled. " he said dads," she smiled.

"He finally did" Duke tickled Adam.

CassIe smiled thenaid down on the couch and fell asleep.

Duke continused to hold Adam in his arms. He was so proud that he had called him dad.

Cassie slept soundly, glad to be avle to rest.

Duke sat down and gently rocked Adam back and forth. He was glad to have some peace.

After a while, cassie woke up with a smile. "Is he being good?" she asked.

"Sleeping like an angel"

Cassie smiled and lean her head on duke's shoulder. "I hope he wont be raised around too much violence," she said.

"We'll make sure of that" Adam began to stir in his sleep.

Cassie smiled and gently stroked adam's head.

Duke could hear footsteps outside. The guards were back.

Cassie looked at duke worridly.

Duke handed Adam to Cassie. "I'm going upstairs. Lock down the lab"
