I hope you'll be okay! We currently are being hit by Sandy, but I am inland and in the 1 to 3 inches of rain getting category. But quite a few places were closed today....and I don't know why.

Yes...event. Need event. I like events. Although who knows if I will do a good job of participating. I didn't last time. :/ Which is how I ended up with only one EI. :(

I had heard that the event was going to start on the 1st.
I will also probably miss most of this.

We are going out of town later today.
I hope that I will be able to purchase the EI's on the Marketplace.

I thought I had posted in here, but I do not see the post in the thread.

I wonder if there is something wrong with my internet access.

We are going out of town later this evening, and I suspect we will be gone for most of the event.

I will try to use my friend's computer to sign on a few times. It would be nice to at least put a tea room out there for people to gather and post in.

Something is wrong.

When I check "My Accounts", I see the tea room thread.
I click on it, and my posts do not show up.

Yet when I submitted the last post, it appeared to show up somewhere.
Can anybody tell me what is happening?

I'm fine. We didn't get as much as people were thinking more inland where I am. I'm right near Lake Erie in the Northeast. But, just in case, they closed the schools down (every school EXCEPT the colleges) in the are. We did get a lot of wind here too. Some gusts were strong. But not strong enough to knock out the power.

I do have friends who live in NYC and on Long Island. They're all fine thank goodness.

@Connie: Hope you're ok. :) I heard some towns were postponing it because of the storm damage. Though some places still did Halloween. I have a friend who lives in Islip and the kids still went out.

Ack, I'll be missing the beginning of the event tonight. I have an assignment due at 11.59 that I finally figured out what I'm doing for it. ^^"

Yeah, my town is relatively okay.
Some downed power lines, a handful of transformers blew up that night, so a lot are without power. The salon is busy with hair clients looking for a shampoo just because we have hot water.
But trick or treating will happen most likely on Saturday night.

We got off lucky. NYC is still in the Dark Ages and most of their subway lines are still not operational. My friend took a video on his phone, and it was seriously like a shot from a post-apocalyptic movie.

Yeah, my friend in Islip was talking about how she won't look at the pictures her friends are posting because it isn't helping her anxiety. :/
Though I saw a picture today from somewhere out there where a house has a sign on its gate with a couple power strips and the sign read "We have power, please feel free to charge your phone"
So, I haven't completely lost all hope in humanity.

I wish someone did that when Jericho swept through here in the summer. I had to drive my car just to get a charge on my phone. Then I also got it charged when I went to the hospital to visit my mom. I did end up staying at my dad's eventually though because he had only lost power for a few hours while we didn't have electricity for a complete 48 hours. :/ Some in town were still without electricity for a week after that storm.
As far as I know, no one in town lost power due to Sandy though.

Yeah, my friends in Islip and Bay Shore both have power thankfully. I think another friend of mine on LI has power too.
My friend in Bay Shore just got her's turned back on this morning when she woke up.

It is so terrible what has happened with the storm!

Yeah...it was...I kinda wished we got snow though. But we weren't at a high enough elevation for my area. :/
