o: I would LOVE to learn it, star! I do get a few things from anime, but I just want to learn and be able to write/read/understand Japanese better.

Mimi: I started at my second year of high school as they offered the program there. I studied it for 3 years there and a semester at college. I was planning on trying to major in it as I loved learning it, but I ran into some road blocks. Mainly my parents not wanting to pay for me to go out of state so I could go to a University that offered it. That and I was too stubborn to stick with the local University or community college to first get an associates and transfer out.

I'm self taught, and mainly just so I can read novels and manga that haven't made it onto American shelves yet - and let me tell you even at my basic level I think that the people they get to translate 'officially' are sloppy.

I'm studying to take the JLPT this year, and have realized how spotty my self-learning has been. I know waaaay more kanji and vocab than I need for level 4, but my grammar stinks to high heaven. So, unless a miracle happens before end of registration, I'm stuck taking the lowest level test. >.>'

So I only type in baby sentences until I can get through my grammar workbook some more. ^_^

@Jezriel: gimme an example of some sentences you would use..? That would be a pity to only make it that far when you know more than that..
