Dracorix's eyes shifted between the jumpy trio, finally resting on the growling wolf. "easy, boy, I won't hurt you," he said. Then he turned his attention to the other two, extending his hands in a gesture of peace. "Or either of you. I am Dracorix, a dragonkin of Aviatis. May I ask your names?"

Yama relaxed slightly but was still on her guard "Yama of Silva. What is your business here?" shw asked as she eyed him warily. His wings were a bit offputting, but he had approached them peacefully... but for what purpose?

"Curiosity mostly." He gestured at the symbols on the wall. "I was wondering what you were trying to do with that. I also was looking for companions, if only temporarily. The skies may be my home, but it's always good to have friends."

Yama chuckled and relaxed further "True enough. Perhaps we should stick together since what remains of the natural order of the universe seems to have brought us together. I'm looking for a world where magic works, Ivan here is with me it seems." She placed a cautious hand on his back. "I can't speak for Anyes, but you're welcome with me at least."

Anyes held her chin high. "Anyes Fyr. Of Nataulpa." She said, extending one long fingered blue hand to Dracorix. Her eyes flashed with curiosity and the blade once again disappeared. A dragonkin, hmm?

Anyes glanced at Yama as the girl smiled. She had had a hard entry into this world. Everyone had. It was a rare relief to find a group of people that she felt comfortable around - at least, more comfortable than she did with most of the strangers in this world. She wondered if this world would begin to crumble too - there seemed to be so many different kinds of people. How many portals did that add up to? Anyes tried to crowd those morbid thoughts out of her mind. It was bad enough to see her home go down in that warping mess of gravity and polarity, all 4 dimensions bleeding into each other as they fought to stay upright. She shivered. She didn't want to have to see that again.

Dracorix shook Anyes' hand, then turned back to Yama. "Well, for at least as long as you are searching for a world of magic, I'll be glad to accompany you. It's been too long since I've been a full dragon." He knelt down and looked at Ivan. "Your wolf's name is Ivan? Well, nice to meet you, Ivan." He reached over to scratch the wolf's ear.

Yama laughed "Mine? No, he's not mine. He's friendly though so I guess that's safe..." she trailed off. After many years in Silva it was still a bit hard to accept that this large imposing predator was not going to attack. She looked up at the sky which was beginning to darken with clouds. "We should get to cover. It looks like a storm is coming and I for one would rather not get wet."

Ivan looked at the man and smiled a little as he felt him pet his head. He head gotten very use to people petting him from being in this world. He looked at Dracorix and shook his head to get him to stop petting him. "yes I do not belong to anyone, I belong to myself. But that can be hard for a wolf in this world to belong to himself." he said then walked over to Yama "I know a inn near here that we might be able to stay at." he said as he looked at her with his big blue eyes.

Yama swallowed tightly but nodded "Right. I have some gold... that should be good until I can sell some things or we find a portal." She chuckled "Funny, even as a universe collapses the universal currency is luxuries." She shook her head sadly.

Dracorix jumped as Ivan spoke. A talking wolf! Not all is as it seems, he thought, examining the wolf with a new interest. At Ivan's mention of an inn, he said, "good idea, but let's hurry. The rain won't wait much longer, and from the looks of it, it's going to suck if we get caught in the streets." As if to accent his words, a distant roll of thunder reached their ears.

Ivan smirked "oh yeah, it sure does suck to get sought in the streets when it rains. It has happend to me many times." he said as he started to walk out of the ally. He looked back at everyone and yelled "we have to run there if we dont want to get wet, it will start to rain in a few minutes." he said as he smelled the air. It was heavy with the sent of cold rain and he didn't want to get his fur wet now.

Yama nodded and turned to Ivan "Lead on Ivan, we'll follow and I'll pay." She turned to Anyes with a nod as though looking for approval on this plan before following along so she wouldn't get left behind.

Ivan smiled "then come on, it is this way" he said and ran down the street. He didn't go full speed because he wasn't sure if the others would be able to keep up with him if he did. Soon he could see the inn in the distance and smiled a little bit. But the smiled faided when he felt a rain drop on his nose. He picked up his pace a little bit and he was soon was at the door. He turned to face the others and barked happly at them.

Yama ran in behind him, pausing for a moment to nod at him before moving through the doors. The Inn was nice enough, obviously the recent chaos had been good to it. Yama spared the Inn no more then the briefest of glances before moving to the counter and rapping on it smartly, waiting for the attention of whoever ran the place.

Dracorix ran behind Ivan and Yama, hoping that they would make it before the rain began, or they would be drenched all too quickly. He let out a sigh of relief when they made it just as the rain began. Following Yama, he looked around at the diverse population of the Inn. there was everything from mouse-people to Avians, true dragons to normal humans, satyrs to centaurs. He nodded at a fellow Dragonkin, then turned his attention to the bar, waiting for the bartender to show up.

A large man came over to Yama when she rapped on the counter. "yes miss, what can I help you with?" he asked in a rough voice. He had big hands and had hardly any hair left on his hair. He looked like a heavy drinker and like he could get annoyed with anyone.

Ivan waited outside since most people didn't like it when he walked inside. Ever since he cmae here he has never went inside because when he tryed some people yelled at him and drove him away. He sighed a little bit and wondered if he could go inside soon.

"A room for the three of us and Ivan, our dog outside. Before you say no pets allowed let me assure you that I will take his behavior on my bill and pay for any damage he causes. I assume you take gold and barter?" Yama pulled out a pouch that hung around her neck from under her tunic and tugged it open. The telltale glimmer of gold from inside of it caught the light dimly.

The man smiled when he saw the gold and nodded "sure that is fine but if he hurts anyone he is out of here." he said said and waited for his gold.

Ivan slowly made his way inside after a little while. He walked over to Yama and sat down next to her and barked happly. He was happy that he was allowed inside for once.

Yama nodded to him and paid the innkeeper, getting two marked keys in return. She turned to Dracorix and handed him one of the keys before pulling them away from the counter slightly so they could speak in private. "It won't do any good to go charging out there looking for a portal with no idea where one is, we shoulld ask around. I vote we split up into pairs and check with people here, obviously they aren't local and hopefully at least one will know of a world where magic still works. No offense Ivan, but that body... I'm sorry, I can't. I'll partner with either Dracorix or Anyes." ((Assuming she came with us... >.>))

Dracorix accepted the key, then followed Yama away from the counter. When she suggested to split up, he said, "I agree, and we're going to need a way to contact each other quickly if we need to. For that reason, I suggest Ivan and I go in separate groups, since he can track and I can fly. So I'll go with Yama, ok?"

Yama nodded "Works for me. Good cop, bad cop or just straight up diplomacy? I can do either, though I must confess," She looked down at herself, at five feet tall, thin and willowy, she was not very intimidating "I'm not very good at bad cop."

Ivan nodded "that is fine with me and I understand Yama" he said as he looked at her and smiled a little bit. He knew from the time being with Yama that it would take some time for her to get use to being around a wolf. He didn't mind her not wanting to be partnered up with him.

Anyes looked huffy. She had followed in silence during this whole transaction of inn and bartender and rooms, ((because I didn't get on last night lol)) but now she was offended. Dracorix was kind enough, and smart, to be splitting up the two fighters, but she wished that he hadn't overlooked her. Well, no - Anyes was a fair fighter, but wasn't as powerful as a shape shifting wolf or a half-man, half-dragon. So she shrugged it off.

"Sounds like a plan." She said, crossing her arms. She would be with the wolf, which she wasn't opposed to. After all...he was fluffy.

"I think we should just use diplomacy, it seems the best course of action." Dracorix looked out a nearby window. "But we're going to have to stay in here for now. That won't clear up for a while."

Yama nodded, "Fine, with all the travelers here this is the best place to start." She turneded and approached a strange looking man that seemed to be half man-half bat "So, what happened to your world?"
