I wanted a pet crow when I was younger, they had one for sale in the pet store of the mall. It was amusing.

lol. Nice.
There is a tv show, Teen Titans, that you might like Lady of the Snow Prince. There is a character in there called Raven and she ends up having a few of those show up every now and then. I know they are not crows, but they are cool anyways.

Welcome to Menewsha! Their is alot of crows where i live, but i never heard anyone keeping one as a pet! Still, that would be nice to have a unusual pet. How come it isn't legal for you to keep one? (perfectly fine here...).

@ShellyRoo: my friends call squirrels the incarnate of evil/spys/ninjas. Their reactions are actually quite funny. I've seen gray squirrels and black squirrels but never any red ones...I kinda want to see one now.

Maybe she spotted a crow with a broken wing and is carefully and lovingly nursing it to health in her living room, on her flowered couch which is directly in front of a nice fireplace with a crackling fire. She would hop on and tell us all about it but she doesn't want to move and startle the poor thing.
That reminds me, has anyone here ever tried cross-country skiing?

Maybe it was a raven? Though, I consider them the same thing, mostly. XD But they did have one or the other for sale in the pet store ages ago.

@ShellyRoo: aww thanks that would help =3
@Flink: huh then the storeowners might lie and sell you a raven when you wanted a crow or vice versa!
@Roslynn: Very well thank you, I think I might want to try roleplaying

Ravens and crows are certainly different, though i think "crow" is a more generic term for a bunch of birds including ravens.. lol. Generic crows are smaller and make a different call, and tend to hang out in swarms in cities (we have a ton of crows here, they are kind of loud and obnoxious and not too bright -- they'll eat stuff in the road while cars are driving by).. Ravens are larger and behave more like solitary birds of prey, I think they may have a different head shape too.

They probably aren't in every city. :) Depends on the climate and stuff. Where I live is mid-sized and surrounded by forests and whatnot, so it's not too far from more animal-friendly turf.
When I first moved here (I'd been in the desert where most birds were skittish and/or predatory) seeing so many large birds hanging out so close to people was really weird to me. After the first couple rains of the season there's literally a flock of crows on my lawn looking for the worms who come to the surface to avoid drowning. And then there's the facing off they do with squirrels over who gets to loot the berries.. very noisy. lol

ah that explains it. there aren't very many forests or anything where I live, and it's mostly pollution from cars...noise and others. I see pigeons a lot. Wow you lived in the desert? What's it like living there? i've always wondered.

It was nice. I miss it. :)
Let's see though.. where I lived was high altitude "alpine desert" - hardly ever rained but we got significant amounts of snow every year. I remember my wet hair actually freezing when I was outside waiting for the bus for school. =) It would get very hot in summer, but cool down at night. Dry heat though, so your sweat actually evaporates and the shade is actually cooler, hehe.
We had wild horses, and jackrabbits, coyotes all coming by our house.. carrion birds, hawks and eagles.. a ton of lizards and snakes.. Some pine and juniper trees could be seen, but mostly it was just sagebrush and various grasses and thorny bushes nearby. The night skies were beautiful and dramatic, and it was often very windy.
