Eilel had been ready for a fight, expected Jay's outburst towards himself, but the moment she turned her attention to her brother he felt suddenly deflated. He didn't like arguments, no matter how well his father thought he could argue. It had been one of the supporting reasons he'd wanted his son to enter politics alongside him. He was far too passive, to willing to worm his way out of a skirmish rather than deal with it head on. He'd been embarrassed and overwhelmed at finding that his ID had been stolen. Worse, he'd been disgusted at himself for trusting these two against his better judgement. In fact, he'd wanted to take it out on Jay, whether she was innocent or not.

He watched her stand before her brother's door, railing accusations, livid with anger. He half-listened to her, watched her unable to open her brother's door and felt his anger flare again. How dare they dupe him! These two really didn't know who they were up against. For all he knew, this was a planned ploy to throw him off. Make him think it was futile just to get him to leave. Jay had been alone with her brother long enough for them to plan this. In fact, she had nabbed her brother so quickly, left the room so quickly, that he couldn't have helped her take her brother to his room. Everything looked completley staged. His anger increased as he reflected on that. God, he had been stupid! He had played right into their hands! Sheelatoo was probably inside his room right now, laughing his head off, thinking how certain it was they had taken him, a rich idiot, for a ride... and would get away with it. They had better think again! he thought to himself.

He walked slowly over to the door where Jay stood kicking at it. "If I were you," he began slowly, softly, his voice burning with simmering anger, "I would get that ID and give it to me soon. If the two of you keep playing around, you will not like the consequences." He turned and looked up at the closed door and raised his voice to be certain Sheelatoo could hear. "Give me my ID, or you and your sister won't need to worry about keeping this trash heap of yours together. I'll make sure there's nothing left of it!"

“You don’t understand,” jay said turning towards Eilel. “This is not something we planned on doing.” Her eyes were brimming with tears of anger yet she kept her voice level when talking to him. “My brother has a bad habit he picked up from dad. He likes to see what he can lift.” She turned back to the door. “YOUR WORTHLESS YOU KNOW THAT. LEAVING ME TO FACE HIM KNOWING FULL WELL THAT YOU HAD HIS ID!!!” she turned back to him. “If you don’t mind the yelling and waiting I can get it back I promise you.” Her voice had an edge of worry. She turned back to the door shaking it as hard as she could, trying to get it to open. “COME ON, IF YOU DON’T I WILL LET THIS MAN TAKE YOU DOWN TILL YOUR STUCK WORKING IN THE SEWERS AND NOT ALLOWED TO LEAVE THEM. BUT I AM NOT GOING TO LET YOU TAKE ME WITH YOU!!!!!” the door shock at the force of her blows. Below at the bottom the small slip of plastic popped out from under the door. Reaching down quickly she looked it over then handed it to Eilel. “that looks to be you, please don’t report us.” At this close he could see that she had whiskers, and at this moment they were pointing forward in worry. “Would you like a tea plant in payment for this?”

Eilel took the thin plastic card, glaring heatedly at the small, young woman before him. He could see she was visibly upset but that didn't cool his temper any. He'd allowed himself to be duped once tonight by a distressed woman, how could he allow himself to let it happen a second time? He gripped it tightly in his hand, refusing to allow it to leave his body a second time.

"A tea plant?" he scoffed. "You think a measely tea plant is going to make this all better?" He shook his head in disbelief. "You said earlier that people think the two of your are theives. Perhaps, it is because of things like this!" he exclaimed, shoving his precious, newly returned ID card right beneath Jay's nose, barely missing the tense whiskers, and shaking it slightly for emphasis. "How could you be taken seriously, by anyone, with actions such as these! And how can I be certain that you won't try this on another unsuspecting chump, LIKE MYSELF, and get away with it?" He gritted his teeth in his indecision.

He had planned to report the twins no matter whether he had his ID returned or not, but his compassion for distressed females was beginning to kick in again. She could, he rationalized, be telling the truth. That alone had him in a quandary. Balling his free hand into a fist, he rammed it sideways along with his arm, hard, against the locked door.

"And YOU!" he hollered through the door. "Where do you get off hiding like a coward, leaving your sister to face me alone, while you hide away? You're TWICE her size, you cowardly snake!"

“You think that I would allow him to steal like this? We don’t need ID cards it’s not like he took your credits.” Jay could not believe this, here she was offering HIM a plant that was special to her and he was spitting it in her face. She was trying to make it up to him that her brother had been stupid. She did not need to deal with this; she did not have to worry about him calling the cops on here. He had his ID card her brother had returned it so he could not clam they stole it. And for him to turn down a plant, A PLANT! Was just surprising to her. Had she ever been offered a plant she would have happily taken it. He must be rolling in credits to be feeling this sure of himself.
“you really want some one to blame?” now she was mad how could he be that way. When she had opend her home to him, given him some of her tea, offered him food form the small amount of credits they had. “blame yourself, if you had kept a better watch on what was in or not in your pockets it would not have come to this.” Her ears twitched back as she heard her brother get up from the bed in the room. “I was just offing some thing that most people would have happily accepted so that they could have something nice to drink that did not cost them but no your so spoiled that you can even see what a good gift that is.” The door opened behind her.
“I am not a coward.” Shee said slowly and calmly. Jay could see his fur starting to stand up on end. oh great just great, he is pissed and he is going to hurt this man. He never should have said those things to Shee. He never should have yelled like that. she went from being made to being scared again. Turning to her brother she put her hands on his chest.
“calm down Sheelatoo, he did not mean it that way, he does not know.” Her ears lay flat on her head.
“I am quite calm sister, he should not have said that.” Whatever beer was still left in him before was gone now. His claws clicked as he tried to push past his sister. “let me go jay.”
“NO I WONT.” Her voice raised but her body said she was scared. “I will not let you hurt him. you have done enough damage. Your not going to do more.’

Eilel was stunned. At first, he wanted to argue back against Jay's words, but each sentence seemed to knock him back a bit. He wanted to yell back he had no need to worry about funds but he stopped himself. That wasn't quite true, he rationalized to himself. He didn't have much more time to think on it because the door that had previously been locked suddenly opened beside him.

He suddenly found himself facing a great wall of a man. While Eilel may have been larger than Jay, he was no comparison to Sheelatoo. What anger Eilel had left was suddenly gone, deflated before the onslaught of sudden terror. What had he been thinking! He wasn't, had never been a fighter! He mentally eyed the door, wondering just how far away it was but knowing he'd never make it in time. He wondered yet again how he could have gotten himself into all this mess. He could see the tension in Jay's body, knew she was truly terrified and that realisation nearly made him faint.

Still, he had to be strong and face this mess head on. He imagined seeing himself lying on the ground as a bloody mess and swallowed past a large lump in his throat and trembled a bit.

"You know," he said past the constriction, slightly shaking his head, "I didn't want this." He suddenly thought of his father, and just as quickly decided he didn't want to hide behind him this time. "But you know, I only called you a coward because of how you treated your sister. You left her out here to deal with me. I could have done anything to her before you could have opened that door. I personally wouldn't have, no," he said quickly as a reassurance, "but another might have. Fine. Maybe I am to blame for all this, for even you stealing my ID, though it happened when I was trying to help the two of you out. But, whatever. I'll take the blame for it all. But did you see your sister? Look at her, really look at her!" He lowered his head, half closing his eyes.

"Maybe all the things you two have said about me is true." He lifted his head then, looking Sheelatoo straight in the eyes, "But, you really shouldn't have left your sister alone to attend to something you started," he finished with a strange calm, though his insides were twisting. He really expected anything at that moment. He took a deep, shaky breath and held it as he waited.

“My sister can take care of herself.” Shee’s voice was a low growl. He hated this puny little human, who thought he was so much better than them. Just because he had money, so much food he could waste it and a loving father that would do anything for him. Again he tried to push past his sister, the sound of claws digging into the floor seemed quite loud. “it is you that you should be worrying about. You don’t know us, you don’t live our lives. If you tried to live one day in my shoes you would be found in a small ball weeping for your mummy.”
“Shee STOP IT!” pushing Eilel into the dining room she stood in the doorway to block him. “Your still drunk, and we CAN’T have this happen here.” The dining room was dim compared to the rest of the house that Eilel had seen. Jay’s tale was slowly doubling in size as her short fur stated to stand on end. When she had been calm it would have been very hard to see the fur but now that it was moving it was quite seeable. Her tail flicked back and forth agitatedly. “He is our guest, even if you did take his ID. We do not harm guests. If Eilel had ever seen a mother cat defending its kittens he would have recognized Jays body language as that. She was standing up to a Tom that wanted to harm what she was guarding. She spread her arms out to block her brother’s move into the dining room. Suddenly his claws were inches near her throat. “DO IT!” she leaned her head back exposing her neck. “do it I dare you to. Then see where you will be.”

After being pushed into the dining room, Eielel lost his balance and fell to the floor. Events had escalated far beyond anything he had imagined. He let his anger build up once, just once, and even if he was justified for some of it he could not excuse how things had digressed to this. Jay had been good to him, even in light of his accusations towards her. From his angle where he half sat, he watched Jay's brother as he brought his claws up to his sister's throat. This was all far, far too much.

"Stop!" he yelled, coming to his feet, adreynaline pumping. "Why her? I'm the one who made you mad! You're right, I don't know what it's like to live how you two have, but I may not have a choice!" And there, he admitted to himself, was the crux of it all. He threw his arms to out in his frustration. "Look don't hurt her. I'll leave, just don't hurt her!" he begged.

They stood there Shee’s claws almost touching Jay’s neck. He looked over her shoulder at him blinking. “I hurt Jay?” he sounded surprised that the thought had even crossed this guys mind. “now why would I do a thing like that? She is my sister.” He slowly pulled his hand back from her throat still looking a bit puzzled. “it’s up to her if you leave, not me.” Turning back he kissed jay on the cheek and walked away. Jay sighed, turning she leaned against the door frame of the room and slid down it to sit on the floor. Her fur still a bit poofed.
“Ass!” she said to the air then turned to look at Eielel. “Sorry you had to see that, he gets this way some times, but he will never kill me. I was just afraid with you talking he was going to try to hurt you.”
