[[I did not know that. Well, I knew about the democracy thing. I mean, it makes sense with mutiny, most the crew had to want to get rid of the captain. I have always loved pirates, and have done a fair bit of research, I even have a few information books on them and wrote and essay on why they're better than ninjas, but I didn't know about that stuff. Interesting.]]
Anthony was no longer laughing, but he chuckled a little bit. "Calm down, clam down," he said in a quieter voice. He rolled his eyes. Her threats thrown at him in panic did nothing to scare him. They just amused him. None of his men, nor he, were going to harm her in any way. They had sworn an oath. Well, at least his men had. But she didn't need to know that. Why not have a little fun with her.
He lowered his sword arm to his side. His arm was getting tired. He took one step closer to her. "There's no need to threaten me. I hold the swords, after all." He took another step closer and threw out his arms, as if to challenge her. "At least, not until you get all the facts." Another step. "You wanna know what I'm gonna do to you?" Another step. "You see, my men wont touch you. You're not good enough for them. You see, they--they want a real woman." Another step. "But me, I think you're plenty real." He was closed the last few steps between them. He leaned his arm against a support beam, grinning down at her, inches from her face.

Easy for him to say, calm down...he wasn't the one stuck on a ship with a bunch of strangers and people who eyed him like a piece of meat. Seeing his calm expression only served to scare the maiden even more. If she could reach the dagger at his belt, she'd do it.
As he spoke and stepped closer, Rhianwen shrunk back, biting back a whimper, eyes wide and alert and her legs pressed tightly together. Why was he coming so close?! Biting her lower lip, the redhead cringed, pressing herself against the wall and letting out a low hiss, staring at her captor.
As soon as the captain was so close to her flushed red face, Rhianwen could stand him no more. Lifting her hand, she slapped him as hard as she could across the face, not caring if her short but sharp fingernails accidentally cut his skin, but they seemed not to. "Get Away!" she shouted, scrambling and reaching out to grab for his throat after the slap, blinded by fear.

Anthony grabbed her hand after the slap. He knew she wouldn't mind killing him if he gave her the chance. He couldn't restrain her anymore, holding her sword, so he dropped it on the floor and kicked it away. He grabbed her other hand and turned it over, palm up. Blood caked it, down to her fingertips, and trailed over onto the top of her hand. He smiled a satisfactory smile. "Hmmm," he mumbled, as if to say See? I win.
Holding her by the wrists, he reached out with his leg and hooked another chair on his foot, jerking it closer. He sat down with a thump and grabbed the mug of ale sitting on the table next to him. There wasn't very much left in the mug, most of it had stained the table. It had been full before they raided that village. Anthony poured the rest of the ale over her hand. A dirty shirt of his was laying on the floor, and he used that to clean the wound. After wiping most of the blood off, he ripped a strip off the shirt and tied it tightly around her hand. Maybe a little too tight.
Anthony threw the rest of the shirt on the ground, forcefully. "Now," he said, glaring at her again. "None of my men are going to touch you. And I'm not going to touch you. So stop trying to kill me!" He threw up his hands, frustrated.

As he grabbed her hand, Rhianwen gasped softly, trying to pull her wrists away. Feeling far too vulnerable for her liking, she whimpered a bit, shaking her head. "Stop it...!"
As he poured ale on her hands, she hissed, the stinging of alchohol on a fresh wound making her cringe. Sure, she knew it was necessary to clean it, but he was making no effort to be gentle, and as such, she growled. "You stink at this! Not so tight dammit!" she grumbled, jerking away as much as possible and eying him distrustfully.
As soon as he mentioned his supossed words of reasuurance, she scoffed, standing and pointing an accusing finger at the man. "Oh so I shouldn't try to kill you?" Putting on a mock smile, she spoke in a mocking tone, a voice mimicking him, but much more whiney. "Oh I will be nice, sure, let's all get along. Just ignore the fact I kill and rape innocent people for a living, yeah, we're all a happy fucking family!" she then hissed. "Those who deny mercy and kindness for others deserve none for themselves. You are nothing but a cretin, and I will treat you as such. A bug..a sick, lowlife bug, worth only to be squashed!"
((she's so mean to people she is angry with isn't she?))

Anthony stood, too, and slapped her as soon as he did. With the same hand, he pointed at her. "I have never raped anyone." He'd had consensual sex with several barmaids and street-girls before, but never rape. It was other men in his crew that raped. He'd tried stopping them before, but it just seemed to create more problems, so he let them do what they wanted. He narrowed his eyes. "But don't think I won't start now," he hissed, trying to scare her. If she was going to insult him, she deserved what she got coming. "Now sit down!" He shoved her back into her seat.

Putting a hand up to touch her cheek, she watched the man, stunned, and now officially scared out of her wits. This was not going well for her, and it seemed once again, her sharp tongue would get her into trouble as it did when she was a child.
Closing her legs together as tight as she could, she scrambled to get away from him. "I-I won't let you!" Rhianwen stammered, watching his every move. "A-And...is that supposed to make me feel better? Make me think better of you? NO! You are just as bad for not stopping your men from doing such filthy things to people, you are no better, in fact, you're worse!"

"Have you ever tried to get in a pirate's way?" Anthony screamed at her. Oh...yeah...she had...And she'd done a pretty kick ass job of it. Whatever. He didn't have to justify himself to her. She was just a village wench. There was no arguing with her. She always had a rebuttal. Anthony hung his head and rubbed his temples. "Fuck," he muttered. He shook his head and rolled his eyes. "This is ridiculous." He stroked his chin once more and then walked towards the door, picking up her sword on the way.
At the door, he leaned his head out and called for Jasper. Jasper arrived and grunted at him sleepily. "Lock her in the brig. Use the, uh..." He waved his hand, as if that would help him remember the word. "The shackles. Yeah. Those. The ones on the far wall."
Jasper grunted and pushed his way past Anthony.

Despite being yelled at and hit, Rhianwen felt pretty proud of herself, pissing off a leader, the captain so well and always one -upping him. It was rather amusing to beat him at his own games and to drive him this crazy. Her victory was short lived though, seeing him take her sword and walk to the door to lock her up. As soon as the larger man who held her by himself appeared, she began to tremble. And being locked in a brig wouldn't be so bad to be locked in a room, if it weren't for what he said next. As soon as the word 'shackles' left his mouth, here eyes went wide and her face grew pale.
"G-get away from me! I won't be locked up in chains....let me be on my way and give me my sword...Wait..Let go!" she shouted, feeling the man grab her unceremoniously and begin to drag her out to the brig. Damn.
Rhianwen tried to fight, frightened and angry.

Jasper carried Rhianwen down to the brig and locked her in the shackles. Each shackle was bolted to the wall, about two feet apart, and three feet off the ground. Her wrists were locked in the shackles, her legs straight out in front of her as she sat on the dirty floor. Rats scurried around in the corners.
Anthony sighed, exhausted. Mindlessly, he looked at the sword again, turning it over and studying it, but not really forming any thoughts. He let the sword fall to his side and he sighed again. "What," he said, and tossed the sword onto his cot. "...was I thinking?" He punched the wall. This was going to be a whole lot worse than he had thought. There was nothing he could do now. Nothing but sleep. Anthony sat on his bed, his back against the wall, her sword at his feet, and closed his eyes.

Once chained up, the helpless female watched Jasper go, retreating to his bed. So this was how she'd spend her night? Locked up in shackles. Once she was alone, Rhianwen let herself give in to her sensitive, frightened and distraught side. Then, and only then would she cry. Silent tears poured down her face, blood still dried on as an after result of getting cut across her face.
Shivering, Rhianwen tested her bonds, feeling despair and hopeless ness fill her mind and gut, her stomach swirling with butterflies before sinking to her gut. A few soft whimpers escaped her lips as the flame haired girl stared at the ground, letting out her sorrow and fears. This royally sucked, and she was out of ideas for now. Seeing the rats, she cringed slightly. She was an animal lover no doubt, and mice and such were kinda cute, but, Rhianwen did not want to get bitten, especially by a dirty, sickly animal that could make her ill.

[[When did she get cut on the face?]]
The sun rose over the waters, drenching the deck in warm, golden light. Anthony blinked drowsily and rubbed the sleep from his eyes. He frowned, furrowing his brows. He hadn't gotten much sleep. Maybe he should just leave Rhianwen down in the brig. He didn't want to deal with her crap.
Anthony rolled his eyes and groaned, pushing himself off the bed. He had to go talk to her sometime. Might as well get it over with.
The brig was dark and dirty. Light peeked through the cracks in the deck. One beam of light fell across Rhianwen, her head drooping. He couldn't tell if she was sleeping or not. He leaned against a wooden pole, watching her.

[[page one, post 7. that was how they subdued her in the first place, grabbing her just before Anthony told them to stop and leae her to him. They startled her long enough to grab her by cutting her face, like how the scar marking in her profile picture., second picture. she grabbed face in pain and to feel the cut and they grabbed her and tackled her to ground.]]
Having gotten practically no sleep, Rhianwen saw the faintest light shining through the cracks down into her prison. Her stomach growled with hunger, her muscles ached from the fighting of the day before, her uncomfortable position, and sitting in said position for so long. Hair hanging somewhat in her face, the miserable female stared at the floor, lightlyu tugging at her chains, to no avail, she was stuck.
With a slight flinch, she heard and felt footsteps enter her little dingy hole, making her more than slightly uneasy in the dark confinement. After several long, painfully silent moments, Rhianwen looked up slowly, frowning, an exhausted look on her face. Wetting her lips with her tongue, she parted her lips to speak, softer than before.
"Hn.......What now?"

[[Oh. Well, very good at knowing where it is.]]
Anthony stared at her, blank faced. He didn't know what to say. What was there to say? I'm sorry. I've made a mistake. We should never have kidnapped you? His pride would never let him say that. He licked his teeth. "In two weeks, we'll get to a small deserted island. We're going to leave you there." She obviously didn't want to be there, but he wasn't going to let her win this battle.
Anthony turned and began climbing the stairs back out of the brig.

Watching him incredulously, Rhianwen struggled a bit, feeling oddly upset at being left to rot alone in this brig.
"So what? You're leaving me down here until then? Where am I supposed to relieve myself? What about food? Why did you drag me here in the first place if all you're doing is dumping me somewhere else? Where are you going?" she blurted out, straining to see him and tossing a bit. Rhianwen loathed the feeling of being weak and dependant. Right now, she was both.
"I gave you my name! I should be told yours!"

Anthony let out a loud laugh and turned back to face her. "So..." he said. "You want me to do something for you? Give you food, better quarters? Let you go? I tried treating you better. I was willing to share my own personal quarters with you and you...As far as I'm concerned, you can piss yourself right here." He shook his head and smacked his lips. He walked down the few steps he'd climbed. "I'm a pirate," he said. "Remember?" He took a few long strides and crouched in front of her, once again in her face. "I don't have to give you anything." He straightened, took a step back, and then sat down, facing her. "You want better conditions? Start bargaining." He crossed his arms. He shouldn't even be giving her that option.

Rhianwen stared at the man in disbelief. Was he serious? What kind of man was he?! Frowning, she shivered at the closeness, flinching away. With a few seconds, she had her retort.
"If You make me soil myself here, you clean it up, not me. If you starve me, there will be a stench on your ship before long once I die of starvation. Again, your mess to deal with, since you told the crew I'm only yours, thus you have to deal with me. If I offend and treat you like dog shit, it's because you are. You want me to be nice? Perhaps I would, if I weren't hungry. Perhaps I might be a little more gentle, if you hand't stolen me from my home, killed my companions, destroyed the village, looted them for all their worth, chained me up in here, refused me food, threatened to rape me, and took the last sword my father forged. Perhaps I'd behave a little better, if I wasn't chained like a slae or like chattle ((sp?))"
Shifting uncomfortably, she looked away, her voice softer now. "Perhaps I'd be a little less brash and crude, if you treated me like a person, and not an object, some treasure and goods you stole..a pet to be bought or sold..." she whispered, biting her lip and hating this man with every fiber of her being. "What can I bargain with? You took everything besides my life and innocence, and I will not give you those."
There was actually, one thing she had left. An opal necklace around her neck, a gift from her mother.

[[Looks correct in spelling.]]
Anthony shrugged. "I've had to clean up messes before. I don't mind it." Hmmm...There was one other option. He didn't have to drop her off on a deserted island, he could always just sell her into slavery. Yeah, that'd be better. Get some money out of her. "And I never refused you food." He pulled some bread out of his pocket and tossed it to her, even though her arms were tied up. He smiled. "And don't worry about your sword. It's safe. And maybe if you weren't so violent and brash, you would have found out that you would have been treated like a part of the crew. But no. You tried to kill me."
He coughed and rested his hand on his chin, his elbow on his knee. "You know, there are more valuable things than money or gold or anything like that. For instance, if you were to offer, say, obedience, or maybe...I don't know..." He waved his hand in the air. "A promise that you wouldn't kill me or my men, you would be offered in return a place on our crew, a chance to not be chained up, tied up, carried over Jasper's shoulder, or forced to live with the rats, which is actually how you were going to fair before you tried to kill me."
His eye caught glimpse of a chain trailing down into her bosom. She did have something of worth after all.

Damn. He had a retort this time. Looking at the ground, she took a few deep, long breaths to steady her beating and try unsuccessfully to ease her pounding heart. Looking up, her eyes held anger still, but also hurt, sorrow.
"Why? Why would I want to do that either? Can you blame me for trying to kill you and your mean? After all you do? What did that village do to you? What did they do to warrent such brutal cruelty and slaughter, being butchered like pigs? Why? What did they do to deserve that, have their son's, their fathers killed, their daughters and mothers raped...why did they deserve that? What did they do to you? Why would you subject anyone to such pain...they were an innocent seaside down..not involved in politics or any such things. So why?" her voice was shaky, bt she would not cry, wound refuse to beg.
"Why would I want to do that to anyone? There are assuredly some people who do things bad to others, who deserve what is coming to them, who lie, cheat, steal, betray, murder, and all sorts of things, but that town was apeaceful one. Why would I want to join a crew of people who massacre entire towns. And for what? Money? Power? greed? Fun? What reason is good enough? If you need supplies or money, why not work to buy, trade, or at the very least take from those who have money to burn? Why?"
Sighing, she looked away, thinking him an ass for tossing food to her when she could not eat it or feed herself. No way would she let anyone feed her by hand.

Anthony shrugged again. Many a time he'd pondered that question, and honestly, he didn't really care about those people. He leaned forward and took the bread, biting off a big hunk. "Well, love, I think," he said through his chewing. He swallowed with a big gulp and tossed the rest of it back in her lap. "...that that guilt trip would have worked better on someone who has a concience." He poked her nose with his finger and stood up, stretching his arms. "I can't blame you for trying to kill me. Kill and be killed. It's the way of life. C'est la vie." He reached down and grabbed the chain around her neck, ripping it from her neck. "Now, I think I'll take this, if we're going to end up selling you to the slave trades." He kicked his leg out and step-pivoted, turning to walk away again. They'd gotten no where except he now had a beautiful opal necklace to add to his jewelry box. "I do work," he called over his shoulder. "Just not in a way people like." He stopped. "Oh, and one more thing."
Anthony ran back to Rhianwen and grabbed her chin, forcefully kissing her. He was careful not to use his tongue, lest she bite it off. "Souveneir for the seas," he explained, then finally did leave.

Rhianwen scowled as he ate the bread before her. Asshole. As she listened, she became more and more despondant, feeling her gut twist into knots and her hands clench into fists. Did this man have no heart? Why of all pirates did she get caught by the likes of him?! Brooding, she looked up at his term for her, making her growl softly to show her displeasure.
As he gripped the opal pendant and tugged, she cried out as if in pain. While of course ripping metal off from someone's neck did sting, the loss of both the sword and the necklace was too much for her to fathom. "Wait! Please! Give it back, it..it's all I have! My mother fgot that from my father, and I got it from her...you can't take that!"
Struggling, she fought to get at him, but of course it was no use. Looking panicked, she was about to shout at him to come back, even more terrified by his new plans for her, when she suddenly found lips crashed against hers. Face burning 10 shades of red, she gasped as he pulled away, eyes wide as saucers as she sat in shock. What was that?!
"W-wait Come back here! YOU JERK!!!!!" she shouted.
He was gone.
And so was her necklace and sword..in the hands of a brutal, heartless pirate!
This..was just too much. Biting her lip, she tried to remain calm, but it was too hard. Rhianwen finally let her tears flow freely, not really caring who saw now.

Anthony put the necklace in a hidden pocket on his person. That was something he shouldn't lose. He was probably gonna end up giving it back to her. Maybe someday. When she stopped being a bitch.
Anthony chuckled. "Jerk? Wh-what is that? One minute she's calling me vulgar names, then she resorts to child insults?" Wow. Whatever.
The crew was all up by now. As far as they knew, they were still heading toward the islands. As far as everyone, but Rhianwen. Anthony loved messing with her. She got so riled up over nothing. Granted, he wasn't the one chained up. He walked up the steps to his wheel, steering the ship. The wind filled the sails nicely and refreshed him.

Rhianwen squirmed uncomfortably, trying to make the best of it, but it was proving rather difficult. Perhaps if he sold her, she'd go to someone nicer, a decent man or woman who would take care of her and not be an ass twenty four seven? Yeah, right...what decent, gentle people went to slave markets anyway? None. What normal, merciful human being went to a slave market and casually bought a person as though they were an item? None, again. She was doomed either way.
Trying to nibble on her bread, she got one bite out before she couldn't reach it well enough or hold it in her knees without it slipping away. With an outraged cry, she cursed the man to hell and back, trying not to beg for him to let her go. No, She'd NEVER give him that satisfaction. Never.
She tried to wipe her mouth on her arm and sleeve, hating the fact that he stole her first kiss on the lips. The asshole. The flame haired Rhianwen still couldn't believe he did that. If he tried again, she'd bit his damn lips off. nevermind his tongue if he tried that.

They were making good time sailing toward the island caves, as long as a storm didn't hit, they would be there within the month. There wasn't much steering to do. The currents ran right past the first few of the islands. Anthony leaned against the railing around his little perch, looking out across the deck and into the blue of the ocean. The ocean glittered like emeralds, or sapphires, or...diamonds. The seas were the greatest treasure. If only he could freeze it and break off a piece, just a tiny piece, he'd be happy forever.
Anthony wondered what Rhianwen's life was like. He'd never lived on land. He'd been taken prisoner on a pirate ship along with several other people: A few young women, one or two other children, an able-bodied man, an old woman. The old woman was killed. The other children sold as slaves. The young women kept as sex slaves for a year or so before they were worn. Then they were also sold as slaves. He was kept as a cabin boy, doing everything the captain ordered him to for fear of death. A pirate's life was all he remembered.
Anthony showed up in the brig again, this time trailing Jasper, who was carrying some heavy chains. "You're coming up on deck," he said. "Sunlight's good for you." Maybe if he slowly started being nice to her, she would warm up to him and join his crew.

As Rhianwen sat alone, she tried to make plans and form ideas, but none came. Brooding and inwardly bemoaning her fate and her predicament, she was startled out of her thoughts by footsteps and the man's voice. At his words, she first looked somewhat hopeful. Would they just hold her arm or tie her hands behind her back and think they could watch and ensure she not run? No, sadly, she noticed with bitterness that they cought on fast. She couldn't pick locks to save her life.
As she was unchained from the shackles to be put in these new chains, she decided to keep her eyes out and behave...for now. Perhaps she could learn a thing of two to gie her some ideas and such. Simply pouting as the cuffs were clamped around her wrists, she otherwise stayed still, buit her eyes, her glare made her thoughts known. 'I still don't like you, and I don't appreciate being dragged in chains you asshole.'
Before they could drag her out, she used the opportunity to snatch her bread, holding it in her hands so he wouldn't steal it again.

Anthony grinned and pulled out a new piece of bread, holding it out to her. "For you, my lady," he said with a bow. When he stood back up, he looked at her and made a kissing noise. It wasn't necessarily going to win her favor, but...he just couldn't resist. Maybe kidnapping her was the right thing. He was having so much fun, despite her poor attitude.
Jasper held on to Rhianwen's chain, leading her after Anthony. Her wrists were once again shackled, but close together so she couldn't really choke someone with the chain. The end of her chain was attached to the wooden railing by the wheel. Anthony leaned back on a wooden crate that had been there for ages and never moved. It was easier than replacing it with a new chair. "Thanks, Jasper," Anthony said as Jasper left. Jasper was his only loyal mate. It was probably because he was dumb and mute.
