I totally was gonna make a thread - it was gonna be an epic contest thread. Like if anyone has seen "Where in the world is carmen sandiago". Something like that ... But it's too late now.

edit: Most of my likes came from Facebook friends since I oh-so-kindly posted my thread there. I think the only ones who voted "Like" from here were me and Cookie (For-Chan Cookie, obviously).

I personally have nothing against bribing people to get 'like's. It's a good tactic, in fact I think I'll try it myself. :D (I finally have a way to get rid of this ridiculous amount of gold now!)

You know, I can see how that would seem unfair about the giveaway and it attracting more people. It does trump out those who prefer to try and create an interesting thread instead of offering prizes. But, I also feel like it is an interesting way to do things and isn't against the rules.

:( I guess I don't feel too strongly about the methods done since I didn't plan on entering the iPod contest.

Well the way I see it is I was going to give away all this gold in my giveaway thread anyway, so I don't see what's wrong with asking people to make a few clicks in the process. :B

I don't see why people bribe to get the likes. Some of us had to work hard to get our likes, but others just say "Heres gold if you like this". But I just sound whiny and paranoid now.

I think the concept of this contest just went in the toilet Xd

So are you saying that I didn't work hard for the gold that I'm using towards those likes then?

The contest is to make a thread that's interesting, if people are interested in making gold, then I don't see why that sort of thread shouldn't be the winner.

Even then, they're at least on Menewsha. Your likes aren't any better, they just like and leave. Over half didn't even visit the site to leave a like. At least in the idea of a giveaway, you have the concept that they're all users on the site, and they all at least have participated, and genuinely think your giveaway is good enough to merit a like.
