DERRICK

A sort man in black cut a path through the crowds of New York like a knife. Derricks plan to get is mother followers was well laid out and already in the works. The job at Gen Advance gave Derrick access to all the influence and research he needed to put it into action. Just thinking of his beautiful plan put him in a giddy mood. Mot even the sight of some of his divine cousins could break his good mood.

He did not wish to work with them, he did not even want them in this city, but it would draw suspicion to him if he destroyed them. Still, it wouldn’t hurt to get a closer look. Walking into the café Derrick didn’t even glance around, he could sense the ‘special’ people without drawing attention from the mortals. “I would like a Grande Americano” he told the barista before they had a chance to ask him what he wanted, he gave the man a twenty and waited for his change.

The two mythical girls were useless to him, he had no interest in witches who didn’t even have the sense to not practice ‘real’ magic in public, and it appeared that she wasn’t very good at magic, judging by the scorch marks and the broken computer. He had no opinion on the naiad, he couldn’t see how she could be of use to him.

He couldn’t place the demi-god boys, they felt of magic that came from much farther south then his. Taking is cup and his change Derrick turned to leave. One of the women he couldn’t place either, though she felt like she was closer to his origins then the twin boys. It was the woman that felt of his own mythology that intrigued and somewhat frightened him, If Odin were to find out that his mother was striving to free herself from her prison then there could be trouble, and because of his godly grandfather Loki, most of the other Norse gods and demi-gods would be wary of his agenda.

It was something to be taken care of latter, they must have just arrived, he had been working on this city for a long time, Derrick was confident that his plans would not go awry because some of his ‘relatives’ showed up. Exiting the shop he glanced at the woman who felt of his homeland, but he couldn’t tell who her parent was, so there was no telling what her threat level was. Sipping his coffee Derrick continued down the sidewalk, the mortals parting to either side of him.

SHATHIKK

“aah Hello, My name is Shathikk Naṅgā I am calling in response to the add you posted. I have just rented a loft style apartment and am looking for a roommate, if you would like to check out the apartment I can give you the address.” Shathikk paused and went to his computer, he didn’t remember the address yet off of the tope of his head so he would have to look it up.

I hate to interrupt your RP flow- but I think a reminder may be necessary - you can't post the character name at the beginning of every post - that's Flobbing and not allowed.

I understand you need a way to differentiate, but you are going to have to do it with different colored text and try to work it into the context of the post, not just labeling.

Omut was grouchy from having stayed up too late the previous night and needed something that would help wake him up. Like coffee and food. There was a little cafe that he'd been to a few times and liked it. Which was an accomplishment for him. He entered the cafe, pushing his white hair out of his eyes. He went to the counter after another man had ordered his drink and he smiled tightly at the barista.

The girl was smiling when she said, "What would you like?"

"I'd like a large coffee, black and a cheese bagel. And don't smile at me when you don't mean it." Being grouchy, he wasn't in the mood to deal with lying. As usual. He went over his a corner that he usually tried to sit in and sat down while he waited for his order. He leaned back in his chair, hands behind his head and bracing against the wall behind him. He was about to close his eyes when he smelled something interesting. His gold eyes narrowed. He had been contacted that there were those in this city that would need his help but he hadn't found any. Until now.

He cocked his head to the side like a bird might as he swept his gaze around the small cafe. It stopped on a table near his where two young women were talking. And emitting auras that couldn't hide from his gaze. He sighs to himself. He gets up out of his chair as one gets up to order food. He looks at the girl that still sits there. He was glad she was the one still there. She looked more like his heritage than the other could ever hope to. As he walked over, he took in how beautiful she was. Not that that could interrupt his grouchy state of being.

"Excuse me. I hate to intrude. But may I join you and your...friend?" He wouldn't let on that he knew who they were. Yet.

Kamilah tilted her head curiously. She hadn't tried that meal yet. "Well, I am sure they will taste good." she said, offering her a small smile. Her eyes had wandered off to the explosion, her eyes wide. That was a bit dangerous. She took it that the girl was some form of witch, but not a very good one since not only did her potion or whatever not work, she had done it in public. Surprisingly, not very many people were phased by the display. One male went over to help her thankfully. She turned back to the other girl in front of her and resumed to drink from her smoothie. Since the girl got up to get her order, she glanced at the empty seat before looking at the odd male that had just left.

He felt as if he were a demi-god as well. But more sinister. It made her somewhat uneasy, and was glad he had left. She strummed her fingers on the wood, fixing an armlet that had lowered a little. Hearing a voice above her, she glanced up. She saw a male with odd white hair. She had to wonder if it was his natural hair color. Nowadays, everyone had odd colors. She offered him smile before motioning to one of the open chairs. She had no problem with him sitting there. She did have to wonder why he chose to sit there though. "Of course." she said, her tone soft. He did seem a bit more than an ordinary human, though not demi-god type.

Damien smiled and nodded. "Oh! Sure, let me get a pen." he said, some more shuffling of papers to find the pen. Once he acquired it, he grabbed his notebook and waited for the man to tell him the address. "Alright, what is it?" he asked, grinning a little. He'd seen the ad of course, but had been wondering if it hadn't already been claimed, as such things were hard to come by. Apparently not.

Omut smiled slightly and took a seat. "Thank you." He paused at moment, not staring at her but just looking. He decided a direct approach would be good. That and he wasn't feeling like using small talk. His voice wasn't loud, more quiet. "My name is Omut Anklah (ank-lah). Im curious to know who you and your friend are, and who your parents are as well." He smiled a small one again. "And there's no use in lying to me, my lady. You can't lie to griffins."

She blinked a little in surprise before smiling, knowing the origins of the name. He chuckled when he said not to lie, since it would be hard to do so. "I wouldn't lie regardless." she replied, tilting her head. "I am Kamilah Eshe. My father is Toth." she said, wondering if he would recognize it as well. "So you are a griffin?" she asked, looking him over curiously. Since she had never seen a griffin in real life, naturally she was curious to know how a live one would look like. His disguise was rather good, no indications of him being something else. Besides his hair. "Ah as for my friend, she would have to tell you herself, since I don't wish to do something she might not want to say." she explained.

"Hello. I'm Eira, daughter of Freya." She tried not to drop her mouth open. A griffin! She had heard of them but she had never seen one. They didn't tend to hang around the Norse areas. It wasn't really in their tradition. It was incredibly beautiful The fierce beak for ripping, the claws for tearing... She wondered for a second how it was avoiding notice and then dismissed the thought. It was magic after all. It could probably manipulate the way it was seen. She assumed, for she didn't know hardly anything about griffins.

Jaden rolled his eyes at his brother. he supposed it couldn't be helped. He was a people person after all. But exposing them was something his mother would frown at. Their mother didn't punish them for much but if she if they did something that could potential lose them she would be furious. He glanced into the window at the others. There were more of them now and they all seemed to be getting to know each other. He also noticed that they abstained from going to either him or his brother. It was curious but he was not so curious that he would ask of it. It didn't matter the less people to bother him the better. He kept that in his mind while he went back to his book, ignoring the rest of the world.

Jason's grin widened. "Ah, well don' be down. ya can always try again." He says as he helps the girl clean up. He was correct in thinking that NY was nothing like New Orleans. If she was worried about people seeing. The humans in the room would whisper and look over or out right stare. He was amused by it more then anything however they weren't going to do anything. "I'm Jason by the way." He introduces himself as he attempts to clean the floor.

Tejina was used to doing this kind of work since she did the same thing at home each time after practicing. Though her floor was made of wood and would stain easily as it already had. It was almost rainbow patched by this time, but she didn't care as long as the dangerous parts of any potion were cleaned up right away before she stepped on the floor.
She looked up at the guy and smiled. "Thanks for helping me clean up... I don't usually do things like this in public." She wasn't sure if she said that already as she grabbed another napkin. "I like your accent. My name's Tejina."

Omut smiled a little again. "It is good to meet you both then. Yes, I'm a griffin. Took some years of practice but I finally managed to look human. Not that I like it over much. I'd show you my true form since this seems like lying to me but this isn't the place. Now, I'm going to be late for work." He takes out a pen and writes on a napkin two addresses and numbers. "These are the places you can reach me. Ones my work and ones my home. If I'm not at either place, then I'm sure the two of you can figure out how to get a hold of me. I'm pretty familiar with this town and with humans, sort of. I'm here to help you. Ask any questions if you need as well. I hope you have a good day, ladies." He bows his head at both of them in turn. "Oh, Lady Kamilah, I thought you should know that you look much like your father. Good day." He gets up and leaves the cafe, walking to the mechanic's shop that he works at. He was a bit shaken by meeting the two demi-gods. That much power in one place...he shivered a little and continued his walk.

Jason grinned at her, "Nice to meet you. " He says motioning to the window to his brother who was making a show of ignoring him. The boy had his leg crossed and looked the picture of a person who didn't care about who was going on around him. One eye on his book the other in his notepad. He was curious as to what Jaden was doing but he could look over his shoulder later. His eyes turned back to Tejina. "That's my brother Jaden. Sorry, he's a bit unsocial." He placed a hand behind his head. Another thing that set them apart, a major thing. Sometimes he wished that his brother would try harder to make friends.

"Same." The mess was cleaned up and Tejina was back to sitting at the table. She avoid looking at her mini laptop. "I've met people like your brother. In fact even I can be a bit unsocial." It was true. This was her first time in months since she'd gone to a cafe in the city. Even when shopping for things she didn't say much except a few mumbles to cashiers in a shy way. She'd lived alone for a few years, too despite being young. "I can see you're probably nothing like him right? I can sort of tell." She could easily be wrong in some ways, but not in an insulting way. Most people took the things she said seriously like that. It bothered her.

Jason grinned tilting his head and taking the seat across from her. "That obvious huh?" he chuckled, crossing his left leg over his right. He rubbed his eyes a little before another person came over asking him if he needed anything. He remembered he had left his coffee outside with his brother and his brother was not going to bring it out to him. He ordered another plain coffee with just sugar and no cream. He completed it with a smile and let the waitress do her job. "So, you don't get out much I take it.?" He asks curiously.

"Just a bit. It's probably the way you two acted. Almost like opposites." She smiled and crossed her own legs except near the ankles and under her. When the waitress came she also ordered a coffee. Except hers had both cream and sugar in it. The smoothie didn't seem like enough to her as her sweet craving was still there from the morning. Even if she didn't chug it down quickly. No one noticed anything though as she had. "You're right. I don't get out very often. Not sure if I said this already, but this is my first time in months to go anywhere like this. Grocery shopping doesn't count."

"Right, right. Well I can say dis is deh, third time I've been up 'ere." He says leaning on the table. They were a little low for him. It was a might uncomfortable. but he shifted a bit into a comfortable position. He tilted his head eyes drifting over to the window where his brother sat outside alone. Mother told them they had a link and they could talk to each other over a certain distance but as soon as Jaden heard that he had blocked off any communication with him. it actually hurt quite a bit. He never opened their channel, and couldn't even see into his head. He wanted to for comforts sake. He looked alone out there, probably because they looked so alike and Jason would actually be the one feeling lonely. he brought his attention back to Tejina.

"That's not bad. I actually didn't know that place existed till I..." She lowered her voice then. "Well flew here." She didn't want other to hear her say that since most of them were full humans. She gazed around the room at them all and was still a bit worried about what happened with her mishap. She didn't think anyone saw so that was okay. It just worried her. She could see at that point the guy was a bit spaced out, too, but didn't ask why. She'd been a bit spaced out too as the atmosphere was quite nice in the cafe. She also wasn't sure what else to say either.

Jason chuckled shaking his head. "No, no, baebe, I mean dis is my third time being in New York. I 'ardly, know my way around an' my brother is such a stick in the mud." He laughed at Jaden's expense. The boy really didn't know how to have fun, all he did was sit at home and read or help their mother around the house. There were those times when the two would be at each others throats though. Most mothers would worry if their sons beat each other to a bloody pulp but Dorinda just threw them in the back yard and told them to get it out of their systems. Their fights were few and far between because of this. They'd be forced to go to school anyway. It was rather embarrassing. He felt like dancing. He was feeling a bit on edge. His feet were shifting under the chair and there was a small beat going in his head. His brother said he had was bi-polar. If only that were true.

"Ahh. Okay. Whereas me... I don't really live nearby hence how I got here. I don't really know my way around either." Somehow this brother of his sounded a lot like her in many ways, but she was also willing to try make friends. She enjoyed reading anywhere where it was quiet, but she also liked to be around others and listen to them talk even if she didn't participate herself. She hated parties and dancing, though and large crowds. Made her nervous. Tejina never liked school either, but went anyway as well. The only time Tejina danced around was at home when no one was looking. She'd hum or sing in public easily though.

Eira was still slightly in shock from the visit. A griffin! She was not easily impressed, but Griffins definitewly did impress her. Especially ones that could retain a human shape so easily. He must have been very powerful.
"So it looks like we're already gaining allies. Do you think we should start gathering more, or do you think we should start making plans?"

Amadehy finished her smoothie, and looked around. The place felt... unusual today, and she wasn't sure why. It was almost as if the air was.... humming? She couldn't explain it. It wasn't unpleasant though. It seemed a bit familiar, in fact... She decided to sit there a bit longer, to see if she could figure out the source.
