Ashila nodded at his statement. "Yeah it is a very off day." She muttered still rubbing her forehead as her hand took a break from typing her program, it would continue to test itself until she finished it. She sighed rubbing a hand over her eyes then turned back to Hunter. "I am sorry." She said with a sheepish smile head slightly ducked under apologetically. She was normally very friendly. Ashila shook her hair around her head and pulled it back away from her face. It wasn't in her usual pigtails but down around her face in tight curls that she found absolutely irritating. Thanks to her parents she had left it to grown till it was about mid back. Annoying. It was always in the way. She pulled a band from around her wrist and tied her hair in a tight bun that was out of her face. With out it however she looked younger. Another irritation. She grinned up at Hunter, "So, you've figured me out, and what are you a good Samaritan?" She said teasingly.

Livianna listened with interested eyes. Blinking lightly as she made a mental note of the story Sound familiar, what is a case where something like this has happened. Oh, right! That one patient that fell in love with her doctor in the early 1800's. She had, what was it called, Nightingale's syndrome. Wonder how long ago this was? and smiled softly nodding. "That's quiet...uh...amazing? No, heroic, That was quiet heroic of him. Its a good thing that you were with him while playing. Though I have to say it wasn't brilliant playing in the construction site to begin with. Can't say much though...My friends and I played in an old mine. That wasn't smart either." She said with a chuckle. "So how long ago was that?" She questioned her silver blonde hair falling into her face a little as she looked over following Sylvia's gaze.

She noticed another couple of students talking just a head of them obstructing her view of the young professor that Sylvia was drooling over. One was a good looking male and the other a familiar looking female. Searching her well organized memories she remembered her from the halls but no such luck on the name. Livianna couldn't seem to recall a time they actually talked, it was one of those faces she'd seen in the halls and knew, but didn't know the person. It was a bit confusing.

Sylvia tapped her chin in thought saying, "Let's see, I was five which means he was eight at the time. You might have seen him if you were here as a freshman since he was a senior then. He's a real prodigy. I don't know anyone else as good with combat manuevers as he is. Not only that, but whatever weapon he uses, he's trained himself to use it in a non-lethal manner. Its probably how he got the job as a combat instructor since if we kill someone we could, like, destroy time or something."

Livianna looked over pulled out of her thoughts giggling some. "Not destroy time but dramatically affect the future and alter our world as we know it, with no way of returning to fix what we did. In a way possibly destroy civilization." She said in a way that made it sound like it was no big deal. "Is he really?" The softness of her voice turning straight to an interested serious tone. Tilting her head some smiled some. "Well I hope he's better than our last one...the last one didn't like me." She said as her mind recalled an incident (she had a lot of them) where she stabbed her instructor in the foot when she tripped over herself. Then, she thought of another time, where she knocked over the entire weapons rack onto the instructor when she hit it wrong while dueling. Liv could be a clutts sometimes, but usually she was quiet skilled with some weapons and good at correctly predicting a competitors moves. It was more of an observation thing, which she was good at. "Are you taking his class this year?"

Hunter laughed at Ashila, taking him for a good samaritan. Though, it probably depends on the persons definition. "Oh no." Hunter licked his lips seductively, "Cant you tell? I'm an exotic dancer." Holding his sensual display for only moments Hunter bust out laughing, not able to hold up such a strange facade.

"Really though, I guess I'm just overly friendly." Sighing, Hunter crossed his legs and twiddled his thumbs. "So what kinda work do you do on that computer? Top secret kinda things?" Hunter leaned in a little closer. "If so do not tell me, Ill just want to know even more." Hunter smiled and pulled the loose hair out of his face. "Accursed hair, always bothering me so."

Ashila found herself laughing as well. His little display was cute and amusing, it was all in good humor. She shook her head about his inquiry about her computer. She blinked down at her laptop as the program finished recycling. It was done. Oh well she could close her computer now. She had been working on the thing for almost 72 hours. That was counting no sleep and bathroom breaks. It also reminded her that hadn't had a proper meal this week.

"Its just a prototype right now. Nothing big and I am sure if I start rambling off numbers and facts you might not understand." She said with a grin on her face. She tilted her head to stare at him. "Let me just cut it down by saying that is something that will help me on further mission... hopefully." She chuckled at his comment on his hair. She felt the same way some days. "I would offer you a hair tie but.."

Hunter smiled when she mentioned the hair tie. "Its okay, usually I use this little bobby pin I carry around." Hunter laughed as he tried to stick the rebellious hairs into the mainstream. "Though, the bobby pin was a paperclip to begin with." Hunter smirked, licking his finger he forced his hair into submission. "That will probably last.. several moments." Hunter smiled again, looking up at his hair which, today of all days, had become nuisance. "Say, do you know if they serve lunch or anything here? I'm starved." Hunter stood up and stretched a little, "What kind of mission?" Hunter sat down again, interest perked. "Is it dangerous? Sneaky?" Hunter was like a big kid, he liked to get in trouble, it was more attentive then being good. No one looked at you when you performed a good deed.

Sylvia nodded enthusiastically saying, "Yeah, of course I am. How else am I going to preserve the space/time continueum if I don't know how to fight people without killing them. It would suck to accidentally kill someone and then cease to exist or something. That and I enjoy just looking at him, he's so damn good looking X3"

She grinned at him as she shut her computer down. It didn't take too long. just enough time to get him distracted with his hair and her to close the small notepad and stuff it in her bag. She gave the man an appraising look. He seemed very interested. She turned to him in her seat, her grin wicked with a slight kink in her posture as she stood up. "You'll find out as soon as I'm done." She laughed, "Sit down, we can not leave yet, not till the meeting is over." She chuckled sitting herself back down.

Livianna laughed pretty hard covering her mouth and covered her sides. "Ok....good to know and good plan." She said taking in a deep breath. "Do you think he's really that good looking?" She questioned with a giggle. "I find guys closer to my age better." She said with a grin. "But he's a decent looking guy." She agreed with a nod. Shaking her head some she leaned back and wondered something. "I want to solve one great mystery...." She said softly.

Sylvia shrugged saying, "He's only three years older than I am, it's not that big a diff. Oooh, what mystery! Tell me, I can keep a secret, I swear!" Sylvia began bouncing in her seat in excitement at the idea of a mystery.

A grin came over Livianna's face. "I want to solve the case of Jack the Ripper. No one really knows who he was, they never caught him. They tried and tried and then suddenly he stopped. Like he vanished. Its a cold case to this day. I want to find out who it was or is." She said with a serious looking face. "I know it not as interesting as it could be but of course there are others on my list. That's just the one I really want to know. I have a theory that since they never had a true lead it was someone who used the time travel things to leapfrog back in time. Leaving no trace of himself or herself, because they were pulled back to the present." She said in almost a whisper, such an accusation was dangerous or so she thought.

From behind them came Braig's voice voice gently saying, "That's quite the interesting theory miss Blackski." Sylvia gave a short shriek as she jumped, falling from her chair. Braig ignored her and leaned in saying, "Would you like to make your investigation an actual class project?"

Livianna jumped a little and looked back blinking. Her eyes lit up a little and she sort of nodded. "Well, I...er...yes that would be very cool. Yes, I would love if it was a class project. I would love to know." She said softly in a meek voice. Her cheeks turned up at the corners and a small smile came across her face. "Thank you, for the offer at least. Bra...I-I mean Mr. Porter." She said looking over his face trying to get a look at his personality.

((Has this died? If you guys need me to move things along I can start the speech now))

Braig shook his head saying, "No trouble at all, however you will be doing your research either after school or during free periods and only when I am availiable to accompany you. After all, you're hunting a fiendish predator who took many lives and I cannot trust a student to be able to handle themselves against someone like this without killing them in self-defense."

Sighing deeply Livianna nodded. How could she complain? If anything this will satisfy her craving to know and a few rules wouldn't kill her. "Ok sounds only work when help is available same rules as normal." She said with a slight shrug. Turning slightly she looked at the new professor and grinned some. "Lets start with do you make a habit of sneaking behind your female students?" She asked knowing that was going to start them off on the wrong foot if she wasn't careful.

Selena Marlo stood up and cleared her throat. When the room refused to quiet she tapped her fingers on the podium, a quiet noise that resonated.

"Thank you. I am Professor Marlo and I am the head of this school. In a few days you will get your partner assignments. Before that, however, Professor Porter here will teach you the very basics of time travel. When you are fully versed in how time travel works, then and only then can you get your assignments. This won't take long, I promise. Feel free to ask questions, as I want you to have a full and complete understanding of how time travel works. I will not abide accidents. You will then go on a preliminary mission, where you feel out how time travel works."

((The speech can be fairly brief, but I want to have Braig do at least some instructing to everyone first, then everyone will get their assignments))

Braig looked up at Selena and nodded to Livianna (completely ignoring Sylvia) and walked to that main stage to stand next to Selena. Sylvia climbed back into her seat looking crestfallen mumbling, "He didn't even ask if I was okay."
Braig turned to face the students, his face having his normal absence of emotion as he looked at all the students before saying, "My name is Braig Porter and I graduated from here two years ago. A good amount of you probably recognize me from when you were freshmen or sophmores. I would like all of you to call me Mr. Porter instead of Professor Porter since Professor makes me feel really old. I have been hired here at this fine academy to teach you all the proper methods of combat. I have mastered nearly every weapon through time in order to be able to teach all of you how to properly wield whatever weapon it is that you prefer, in a non-lethal manner. I have also been given the opprotunity to tell you the basics of time travel here today. The one piece of equipment that remains consistent among all of you will be this," lifting up his wrist, Braig showed everyone what appeared to be a simple wrist-watch,"This watch is your link to the Now. With it, you can return to the time travel bay you left from, communicate with fellow operatives in your era along with mission control, jump small 'distances' in time, no more than a month, and, of course, tell time. Be careful when using it to make jumps because that drains it a good amount and if you run out of power we have to come bail you out. Once I was stuck in a concentration camp waiting for a pickup because I was stupid and used my watch too much. I managed to make a daring escape and rendezvous, but that's not a story for right now. When time traveling, be wary of going back too far because you may spread a disease of the modern world or pick one up of the old world. No doubt all of you heard of the poor freshman who snuck in a time machine and ended up dying of the Black Plague. The actual time travel process is very head-ache-causing complicated, but basically it creates a bubble around you upon arrival that makes you slowly fade in to avoid drawing attention to yourself. Any questions?"

((Okay, once anyone who has questions has them answered I'll announce the partners to them. However, so I don't forget who I partnered the partners are Ashila and Arnold, Somilia and Hunter, and Sylvia and Livianna. If your partner isn't posting, please let me know, and I'll either create a character for you to interact with or someone else can create one. After this brief bit I'll have a short scene where she's simply handing out envelopes, which is when your character will know your partner. Included in the envelope is a picture and their name.))

Somila sat somewhat quietly as she listened to the speeches. When Mr. Porter was finished, her hand shot up right away. She hoped that wasn't too obvious and that maybe somebody else would have a question as well. She sighed and waited to be called on, using her other hand to brush a strand of hair out of her face.
When she was called upon, first of all things, she stood up, hands clasped behind her back. Her voice was loud and strong so that she made sure she was heard. "Mr. Porter, what kind of basic knowledge do we have to have before we are allowed to venture into time periods of our choosing?" She hadn't meant to make it sound like she used big words a lot or stuck-up. That was just the only way she could figure out how to word it.

((We have a new character, Kiya. Right now I don't have a partner for her, so someone is going to have to create a second character or I can create one.))
