"Hey my bottle!" exclaimed Cedric as Codette pulled the items off of his head, "I can't eat without rum to wash it down." He said, placing down his log, grabbing the apple, and holding out his other hand for the bottle.
"By the way," He said, "How many apples is that so far today?"
One of Cedric's favorite things about being quartermaster was all of the counting. He was actually fairly fond of math, unlike some other pirates. Even though he hadn't grown up in a noble family, his father had made a decent living on his merchant ship. Cedric had been put through school right up until his dad decided he could help on the ship. Unfortunately his family's wealth and standing were not enough to keep the Navy press gangs at bay. Just the word Navy made him start to swell with rage.

Elliot frowned a little before sighing, moving to the wheel. "Fine fine. We will hurry." he said, muttering. "And it's not like I wish to see the Navy. You know better than anyone of that fact." he said dully before he moved the ship in the direction of the port. Luck would be with them, since the sails caught some wind. Frankly, now he was in a bit of a bad mood. Though he tried to keep it down. He had successfully evaded the Navy, but they still had to make more ground between them. He stifled a yawn, trying not to let it seem as if he were tired. He hadn't gotten sleep and the day before yesterday wasn't very good since they had the fight with the navy. Thank god that there weren't too many of the best men. They had only gotten out with a few scratches and loss. He almost sighed, looking up as some of the sailors started to work. He finished off his apple.

After a few moments of watching, Si'la turned to Elliot. Without skipping a beat, her voice almost harsh but low so no one else could hear them. "Elli, how much sleep have you had in the last couple days?" She took another bite of her apple, watching the man as he responded, checking for any of the normal clues that he might be lying to her...as he sometimes did.

Elliot smirked lightly, raising an eyebrow as he glanced at her. "Enough to function." He said simply, almost as if he were discussing the weather and not his lack of sleep. Honestly, that wasn't saying very much, since he always pushed himself more than was recommended, and he'd learned to hold out on very little sleep. His record was a week. Accumulating about four hours of sleep the whole time. Needless to say, Si'la had been pretty livid about it. He wouldn't be doing that for a while.

On a less busy part of the ship, Jesse was lying on the railing, her hands propped behind her head and her hat draped over her eyes. She fiddled with a toothpick in her mouth as she felt the movement of the waves caress against the ship. She had a fairly good sense of balance and trusted her instincts should a rogue wave strike. Though most of her mates would view this instinct as nothing more than cockiness.
Jesse had finished her work, most of it at least, and wanted to take some time to herself. She had chosen a quite, less visible area in hopes of not being disturbed. She hated to be bothered when she was resting. She knew what was expected of her as the cabin boy and what was to be done and she didn't need nobody telling her what she already knew.

Si'la literally growled at him. "I know that tone. I'll go get one of the pilots to man the wheel. You need to sleep Elliot. I want you awake when we make port and have to high tail it out of there again." She turned away from him to look back out over the ship. She saw Jesse, her cabin boy, just sitting and relaxing. Her voice rang loud and clear in the early morning air. "MISS JESSE! THERE IS STILL WORK TO BE DONE. NOW GET TO IT OR SO HELP ME, I WILL PUT YOU IN THE BRIG!" It wasn't really a shout, more of a loud projection of her voice. She watched and waited for the girl to go, a smile slowly trying to creep onto her face.

Ray tilted her head to the side saluting her captain. She winked her one good eye and started walking off to find the carpenter. "Aie, aie captain." She grinned heading below deck. She was out of the way she supposed.
She did however want to check the ship with her eye. One the way she'd just grab a few that were awake to help her. She had no idea where the carpenter was. She would just have to wing it until she ran into him. A mundane task technically away from the main crew but she supposed she'd have to deal with it. She hadn't built the close knit group she had on her own ship...Well Shal's ship. They were small and they barely got through most days but they were strong.
She shook her head to get rid of the memory. That was in the past and as she braced a board to hammer she let that distract her.

Well, perhaps there were some people who were certainly allowed to tell her what to do. The captain obviously being one of them. Despite her lowly position, Jesse didn't listen to many of her mates, but the captain was definitely a different story.
At the sound of Si'la voice, Jesse's eyes snapped open. Instantly, she contorted into a back walkover, landing perfectly on her feet and catching her hat securely on her head.
"Aye, Captain!" she called from the railing, standing at attention. "Just, just resting the eyes, but now I'm fully refreshed and ready for work!" Jesse rolled up one of her sleeves before quickly hoping down from the railing.

Elliot rolled his eyes a little. "And I will be awake. No need to bite my head off." he said with a small smirk. He didn't move from his position, not really caring if she was going to punish him for that. He still had energy to work, and he'd be damned if he wasn't going to use that up. Maybe he'd rest when they got out from the port again. A safe distance away from the place. He winced a little as her voice came out like a huge speaker was right next to him. Obviously, he rubbed his ears. "God damn woman. You've gotten better." he joked before he bit down on his tongue to stifle a yawn. If he showed any sort of weakness right now, she'd be on him faster than he could change his eye color. And speaking of which, she hadn't even noticed his new color. He smirked lightly.

Codette sighed. "Fine, here." she handed the bottle back. She retied her bandanna as she did some mental calculations. "This morning I've given, out seven apples. Theres about fifteen to a cask. You're the numbers guy, we have two casks left." She tapped her fingers, "Theres five oranges left, but they're nearly rotten."

Cedric took a sip from the rum and a bite of the apple and thought while he chewed and swished in his mouth noisily.
"Why aren't we eating oranges then? Oranges go better with rum anyways!" He said.
Cedric scratched down the numbers on the apples in his log and shut it, placing it on top of his head along with the apple. He took another drink of his rum and looked at Codette for an answer.

Disappearing momentarily, Jesse reappeared with an old mop and bucket full of (almost clean) water. The ship was looking a bit dingy from their last battle and needed some sprucing up anyways. She dropped the mop in the pale, causing it to splash onto the deck. Pulling the sopping wet mop out and placing it on deck, the girl took off in a sprint, pushing the mop in front of her as she went. The excess water that was full of grime was pushed off deck as she reached the end of her run. Turning on her heals, Jesse raced back the way she came and repeated the same pattern before rushing briskly past Cedric and Codette.
"Oi! Watch out, you lot! I'm on a roll," Jesse shouted, splashing her crew members slightly as she ran by with a smirk.

Si'la nodded at the girl then turned back to Elliot. "I'm sorry. Did I hurt your poor ears? And I haven't bitten your head off. Yet. If you change your hair and eyes one more time, I'll seriously consider getting rid of the problem with that rather marvelous suggestion." She watched him for a moment, the smile going away replaced by a frown that reached her eyes. "Elliot, you have three more hours. Then you go to sleep." Then she grinned. "That's an order, Master Dawson."
Jerik grimaced when some cold water that didn't smell that great splashed on him as the cabin boy ran by. Before she could get much farther, he grabbed the bucket and pulled, stopping her running without spilling the water...which took some effort. He grunted, "Careful." He pointed to where she was just about to run over. Some water had spilled there from the first trip she made. Running on a wet deck has a tendency to hurt people.

Elliot pouted a little before smirking. "Oh you like it when I change my hair." he said, to prove it he made his hair a shocking red, and his eyes a very light green. He winked a little. "Besides, you can't have your mouth over my head to bite it off. And it would be extremely painful for me." he sad shaking his head. He raised an eyebrow, frowning again. "I'm not tired." He said stubbornly before smirking, since she directed him an order. He rolled his eyes, giving a halfassed salute. "Aye aye, Captain." he said. Honestly, very few people acted like that with her.

Codette glared at him. " I would've if any of you would eat the damned things. You want an orange, you know where the kitchen is. The others wouldn't touch citrus with a rapier." She rolled her eyes. As Jesse rushed by, Codette jumped, nearly ending up against Cedric. "Jesse! Grab an Apple! Eat girl!" she called. She knew she didn't have much for rank, but the Captain would understand her getting the crew to eat.

"Yes, mother!" Jesse called back to Codette smartly. She would grab a bite to eat after work was done. Maybe some of that rum too if Cedric didn't drink it all. The girl was young, but she knew how to hold her liquor, though it was best not to mix work and drinking at the same time. She was rambunctious enough already.
Jesse sprinted up and down the deck, not leaving a speck of dirt. When she was through, she tossed the mop a fair distance, having it land right in the bucket and slosh some of the water out of it. With a grin, Jesse wiped her hands triumphantly, satisfied with her work.

"Grab an orange instead from the kitchen." Said Cedric, "Grab one for yourself too!"
He took another drink from his bottle and rum and found he had emptied it. He looked inside the bottle and said, "Some rum too."
He stood up and looked around, searching the area where he had been sitting.
"Has anyone seen my log book?" He said.

Codette put her hands on her hips. "I'm a cook, not a maid. Your log book is on your head, and if you want an orange get it yourself. The cask is clearly marked ORANGES." She rolled her eyes, leaning against the railing. She crossed her arms over her chest, enjoying the soft rocking, and the salty air. With a sigh, she closed her eyes.

Cedric reached up and found his apple and log book, and said "Oh yeah... I meant tiny, not you chef."
Cedric stuck his log book inside his jacket and took a bite of his apple. "Actually, though forget the oranges tiny I'll get it on my way down. I'm gonna go help with the repairs." He said, and walked down below deck, grabbing an orange and a new bottle of rum on his way, leaving the old bottle on the floor.
He made his way to where Rayanna was and said, "How are repairs going?"

Rayanna looked up at Cedric. Her eye blinking a few times as she thought to answer. Problem was she had about ten nails in her mouth and she couldn't say anything. She held her hand up a minute and shot them into the board she was holding, nailing it in place. Sighing she stood dusting her skirt off. "Not too bad, ships complaining though." She says as the ship groans in response.
Sometimes she wished she was just a bit stronger then she could actually talk to the ship. As long as it was a device it would be possible but it was still out of her reach. She wasn't nearly experienced enough with it. "How you doing, Cedric?" She asks picking up a few more boards and moving down the ship.

(Uzura, somebody talked to your character...)
Si'la's eyes practically bulged when Elliot changed both his hair and eye color. She was growling as he continued speaking. "One of these days, Elli, I am going to throttle you. And stop lying to me. I know your tired." She turned away from him again, making sure that the rest of the crew that Jerik was told to get up were actually emerging. They seemed to be. She watched as they got to work, repairing things, cleaning others, making sure her ship was in top form...as much as it could be at the moment in any case. She sighs, rubbing her head a little. It still throbbed from the night before.

Elliot laughed lightly. "It's always fun to see your knickers in a bunch." he joked before shrugging. "Fine, but only if I get a hug." he said, pouting. Deciding not to wait for it and since her back was turned, he took the chance and went to hug her. Leaning his head against hers, he raised an eyebrow. "Head hurts?" he asked, smirking a little. He was somewhat being playful, but also somewhat wary of her since, she might lash out at him for hugging her without permission. Even if he'd done it before, it wasn't usually out in the open like that. Not that the crew would think anything of it, seeing how he acted most of the time with all the girls.

Si'la grabbed one of his arms, spun, and had him leaning against the railing arm bent behind his back. One hand held the arm there and the other was pressing him against the wood. This of course, did not help the hangover headaches, which only caused her anger to flare more. "How dare you?" She hissed. Of course, she knew why. It was just who he was and usually she didn't care. But the pain, the color change, and the situation they were in caused her to overreact...as usual. "My head is perfectly fine, Master Dawson. And I'm your captain, not your wench." She let go and took a couple steps back, her face livid. "I'll be in my cabin for the time being. You have three hours." She turned on her heel and headed away, visibly shaking from the held in aggression. She hated when he did things like, treated her no different than any of the other girls.

He grunted a little as he hit the wood before pouting. She seemed a bit more pissy than usual, so he figured he should back off for now, or just for the entire day. He decided not to say anything about the wench part, since if she were to be a wench, he would had done much more than a simple hug. "Then stop calling me Master." he said, rolling his eyes as she let him go. He straightened up before shaking his head, letting her go. "Better take something for the pain, Captain." he said sarcastically. Smirking somewhat he shook his head before turning back to the wheel, almost as if nothing happened.

"It's a good thing you and the Captain are close Elliot. Anyone else would've lost their life." Codette smirked from her perch. She liked the first mate. He was fun and light hearted. While she was herself around the entire crew, something about him, maybe it was the similarities in their personality, made her relax around him. She considered him a friend, though she wasn't sure exactly what he thought of her.
