It's a figure of speech. It basically means that it didn't work out how I wanted it to. Americans use too many "figures of speech". We say something and then it ends up meaning something completely different.

"Hit the ground running" = Starting immediately without waiting.
"It's better to go out with a bang" = Be impressive even if you're going to fail anyway.
"Racking our brains" = Putting ourselves through mental stress to solve a problem.
"She ran like the wind" = She ran really fast.

I'm trying to think of some others. But if you ever have a question about one, just let me know and I'll clarify.

You're welcome... what makes me angry sometimes is my stupid American comrades end up getting angry at people who attempt to correct them when they're learning a new language. It's counter-productive. I don't get angry, that's for sure. People only correct you because they're trying to help you become better in that language. But most Americans seem to take it as an insult. I don't know why,

Well, not me either. But it's just human I guess. You've got all kind of imperfections, and it's just one of them. So, myeah. I can't say that I don't mind, but. Well. It's better than total perfection. n__n

I suppose so... it would be a little creepy if everyone was perfect.

*clings and snuggles for the donation* Thanks again! I think I'll try the hat now. I've been putting it off for a while because I had requested it in a donation thread but they have the link to everything else I want to get so, meh.

lol, Yeah, guy looks pretty cool despite being a giant douchebag. And he's easy to cosplay. Just wear long black hair and a suit. XD

I think my favorite character is Shinichi. Lost touch with the manga so I don't remember what it felt like with my favorite characters anymore. .___.;

I just love the fact that he's basically a male prostitute. XD Cracks me up. He's sooooooo cute too! Although no one will have my heart like Noboue... not even Ren or Baldy. <3 Sorry Hachi...but if he'd stop following me around like a lost puppy dog then maybe he'd be all yours. *kicks Noboue & drinks a can of beer*

lol Yeah, he's pretty cute. I like Baldy too, he's funny. :lol:

Trying to think back, I think I stopped somewhere during Hachi's pregnancy. :sweat:
I remember seeing a flashback (flashforward?) where they were sitting together at a table, with Nana and Ren missing (I think I heard from somewhere that Ren died and Nana went crazy), and Takumi also gone, Hachi's kid running around chasing a butterfly, etc...I have no idea where that happened, it's probably somewhere really far back in the manga.

It must have been the manga. I saw all 50 episodes of the anime and I don't remember Ren dying...

I've never seen the anime before xD;
It wasn't mentioned that Ren died, not the part where I got to, though there's rumors that he died in a plane accident...or a drug overdose, I can't remember which.

It would have had to have been at the end of the series... or just rumors spread by the paparazzi. He was one for flair. And JUST in the manga.. because I remember the end of the anime. He was still alive.

The mangaka's works seem to have (somewhat) sad endings, I forgot what her previous work was but the ending was that the girl and the guy ended up being separated despite all they've gone though. Ren's a pretty interesting guy, I hope he doesn't end up dead.

@ Aoi ~ Thanks again! Every little bit counts for sure.

@ Fading ~ Well now that I have a better job I should be able to actually buy them all. I've actually been getting a great deal of my manga from a local used book store. I got 3 manga and some other miscellaneous books for about 6 dollars. It was mainly because I traded in a bunch I didn't want anymore/bought for someone else and it ended up in my collection. Stuff like that. I purchased the 3rd Clover and 5&7 of Nana recently.

I haven't bought manga in a long time. xD
Mainly because my last 'investment' had been a pretty large fail.
Samurai Deeper Kyo ended up not being what I liked so I sold them all for about a tenth of their original price to a friend, though I still have a few scattered volumes lying here and there in my room.

I'm waiting for Hunter x Hunter to finish before I decide on whether or not to collect it; the story's pretty interesting so far, despite the rough art.

I haven't bought it just because I haven't had the money. But I've noticed I'm a lot pickier now than I was in my...youth... so to speak.

I need to just make a list so I know what to get when I have money and I'm at the store.

-Pops in again-

I either borrow Manga's from my friend [she gets them from Germany] or read them online, because there aren't any shops where you can buy them here. ><

Yeah, I've been much more picky than I was before.
At the moment I'm thinking about getting Bakuman. If I save up some of my food money I should be able to collect all the volumes released so far...

I usually read them online, but for me it just isn't the same as holding the book(s) in my hands. xD

Agreed... i'm a huge paper fiend. Nothing smells better to me than a bookstore. I know that sounds kinda funny. But I think a lot of it comes from the fact that I read a ton when I was a child to deal with the fact that my parents basically treated me like a shut-in. They didn't hardly let me go anywhere. I was so sheltered it wasn't even funny. So most of the time I just stayed in my room and read. *nods*
