The new voice in the tavern shook Kell out of her thoughts. She looked around and saw no one new in the room... "What was that?" she mused to herself under her breath, watching the little owl peck at the bread. Kell whisper to Miel under her breath "You may want to check back on our guest, make sure he is enjoying his meal, doesnt need more drink. They appreciate it when we do that." Kell smiled, she didnt want Miel to think she was being critical, just giving advice.
"Oh and see of you can find out if he will need lodging." Kell added this as an after thought before Miel could walk away to check on him.

Mimrien eyed her, wondering what Nyth would do in this situation, if the little demon would do anything at all. When the girl had closed her eyes, Nyth decided to mess with her. When Miel reopened her eyes, it wasn't an owl that munched on the lone chunk of bread, but a ferret, fur streaked with small rivuelts of light violet and pinkish reds. He was not used to this form and thus, small hints of his true coloring, of the odd creature he was.

Kell startled Miel when she reminded her to check on their actual customer. She stepped back from the bird, now a ferret, and made her way back to him. "Is everything alright? Can I get you anything else?" she asked, trying not to rush the words. She tended to talk fast when she was nervous or flustered. The changing form of the bird/ferret had majorly flustered her. She started to turn away when she remembered the last thing she needed to ask him. "Oh yeah. Do you need lodging here for the night?" she asked.

Kell looked down at the owl to see if he was still enjoying his bread and gave a loud cry of surprise. "Oh, You are not an owl at all.... and I bet you are what I heard a moment ago when I was thinking so hard. That is one mean trick to play. And I would hate to insult you by continuing to call you an owl.... what shall I call you?" Kell chided the creature but she smiled.... this man could certainly tell a good story about adventure if he kept creatures like this for company. She was glad he had come into her tavern this evening.

Mimrien blinked, eyeing the girl blankly. "Hmm...yes, I suppose I will need a place to stay," he said, turning to stir his soup, still untouched. he had been so caught up, he had comepletely forgotten. "Me and Nyth are quite tired." He smield widely, turning back to her, noting that the innkeeper had approached and was now talking to Nyth. The ferret lifted it head, eyeing her with cold eyes. "Hmmm....you will call me Nyth," he hissed, rather unwilling to reveal his true nature, a form not even Mimirien had seen. he knew the boy would feel betrayed if he showed a stranger before even him. And he could not help but care for what his companion thought of him, much to his annoyance.

Kell smiled down at the ferret. "Well Nyth, would you like something other than that bread to chew on, since you have decided to talk, I suppose I could ask you what food is to your liking?" Kell had heard the man tell Miel that they would need to stay somewhere for the evening, Kell had forgotten to tell Miel the rates on the rooms. She hoped Miel would not fret too much about this oversight, she could tell the girl was a bit nervous already. She knew this girl would work out nicely. She also wondered how far away the girl lived. She worried about her walking far by herself late at night once the tavern slacked off, "If it ever gets busy." Kell mumbled to herself.

Nyth hummed lightly, narrowing his eyes. "Stag, if you have any," he said, lifting a paw to scratch an ear. "if not, I'll take rabbit." He tilted his head at her ending whisper, blinking almost suspiciously. He decided to shrug it off and stretched his long body, slamming his tubby tail against the counter.

Kell looked at the little creature... "Well I do not have stag, and I have the rabbit stew.... I also may have some decent rabbit scraps still out on the rubish pile, if you want me to try and save them... other wise, you are stuck with the stew dear." Kell liked this little creature, Nyth, and thought he was a bit funny, even if he didnt mean to be.

Nyth shuddered at the thought of eating such soiled meat. "Mm...no thank you," he murmured, shaking his little body before scuttling to teh edge of the counter. He jumped off, grunting as he landed. "I will just take more bread." And with that, he moved off toward Mimrian in his corner booth, steadily eating his stew and sipping his wine.

Kell moved into the kitchen and got more bread for Nyth. She carried it out to the table and placed it close to him again. She had brought nearly a whole loaf, hoping it would be enough to fill the creature up. Miel was still standing at the table, a bit flustered. "Did I hear right that they would need rooms Miel?"

Miel was unsure about the rates for the room. She had to pause while she tried to think of what to say, she had to have appeared so flustered. She was relieved when Kell came back to her and helped her out. "Yes, they do need one," she nodded at Kell.

Kell smiled. "Well we have two room sizes. We have a single bed room with a decent wash basin for 3 coppers a night, and then we have a 2 sleeper with a tub, it is one silver a night. I know you are only 1 person, but you may enjoy a nice hot bath rather than just scrubing from a basin. The tub rooms go quickly when we are busy, and I personally think the beds are better, a bit softer." As soon as Kell knew which room his would prefer, she would go up and get it ready.

Mimrien was silent, listening as he watched Nyth munch almost mindlessly on the bread before him. "Hmm...I guess I'll take the two man room," he said, turning and smiling at them. He might as well. After all, it wasn't like he was short on funds.

Kell nodded and took her leave of Miel and the man. She wondered what his name was, but it was not unusual for a guest to not give a name, sometimes they even left fake ones. SHe went up the stairs and into her room. All clean linens were kept there. She pulled out clean sheets and two clean towels. They were not the best in the world, but they were clean. She left her room and went 2 doors down to the next large room and placed all the linens in one bed and began to make the other. She lifted the corner of the matress to check for any pests that may have moved in while the room sat empty. It was clean. Kell was glad, no one wants to stay in a bed that has bugs. She FInished making up the bed and went over to the tub. It was stilll sparkling clean like she had left it last time. She laid the towels carefully down on the edge and went back out of the room. Down the hall she went to a little closet door that was locked. She pulled a skeleton key from under her shirt and unlocked the door. There were soaps and perfums lined up in neat little rows along with straight razors and other personal supplies. She plucked out the soap and the straight razor, in case her guest wanted to make use of them and she also pulled out a sack bag, for his used clothing if he wanted her to wash them in the night. She locked the door and went back to the room. She laid all the items on a shelf next to the tub and went back down stairs. His room was all ready for him when he was ready to retire. She just had to carry the water up before he went for his bath. No sense in doing it now, it would be cold before he got up there if she did.

Mimrien watched as the woman ran off to prepare his room, brown eyes narrowing lightly. Now, things woudl be golden if he wasn't discovered again. Earthbreaker acolytes weren't regarded well in most towns. And he definately saw a Light-Warden church somehwere in town. In fact, Nyth was giving him a cold look as he turned back to his companion. Neither were welcome in town, so why order a room in a tavern smack dab within it's sphere? It was moronic. And neither may come out of it alive.

Kell came back down the stairs to the Tavern room to check on her guest. "Everything is ready sir, when ever you are ready to retire just let me know and I will ready your bath. Would you like anything else to eat? Maybe some more fruit wine?" Kell didnt see where Miel went, but it was not too big a concern. Maybe she had alreayd gone to get the man food, or she had ducked back to get some for herself. Either way, Kell wanted to make sure her guest was comfortable and pleased. She had seen the color of his money, and it was not copper.

Mimrien turned, smiling wider. "Why yes, some more wine would be lovely," he said, causing the ferret to snort. "Alcoholic," he snorted, turning away and scuttering across the table. "Narcisistic plague rat," Mimiren chuckled, leaning back and looking up to the ceiling, smile wide as he waited patiently for his wine.

Kell took his cup and refilled it. She brought it back and set it on the table. She was hoping now would be the time to glean some news about the outside world. "So.... I hear the king's army is on the move again. Any idea what war they are off to fight in now? I hope it wont last as long as the last one...." Kell spoke like she would to a long time friend. It usually got them to give answers quickly. Answers Kell desperately hoped to hear. This town was too small for good stories to be told. They had been telling the same stories here since Kell could remember: Farmer Tanner's pig got lose that one time.... When Lusetti got married..... There was once this old dragon.... Forget that Farmer Tanner had moved away 30 years ago and Lusetti had been dead just as long, and dragons, Kell had heard stories of them from travellers, but never seen one here near her town.
She loved new stories. Stories of war and triumph, defeat and sorrow. When Bards came through they often got a room for free just to sing their tales. She could tell this man was no bard, but she hoped he had a good yarn to spin to pass the time. And if he didnt, maybe Nyth would.

Mimiren turned his head , smiling at his newly filled cup. "Hmm...the king....Oh! Is he that codger that pushed a failed assault on the Troll tribes to the east? Is he really moving again...?" he tsked, shaking his head. Pitiful. "If anything, I'd imagine he'd be going for the Western kingdoms. After all, they have such fertile soil. He would never pass up a chance to grab it." He lifted his glass, swirling the liquid inside as he watched the delicious liquid, savouring its flavor as he tilted it into his mouth and drank.

Miel came back with more stew. She hadn't been sure if he wanted more, but with the amount he paid her, bringing him more wasn't anything near a bad idea. She walked carefully again, still not trustful enough of herself to walk any faster. Tripping and falling would not lead to a good impression. She didn't want Kell to know how clumsy she could be at time. As she walked, she listened to their conversation about the king. She never knew much about what happened about the country, she rarely knew about what happened outside her home. She had been so busy trying to keep things there stable. "Here's more stew for ya," she said when she reached the table, setting it down carefully.

Kell was glad that Miel had been getting the man some more stew. The girl was such a great help, Kell figured she had more than earned an extra meal later. "The western Kingdoms.... are they unprotected at the moment? Well, that seems rather strange, they were in turmoil not two years ago, if you listen to the gossip that is." Kell wondered if the king was ever at war in many of the far off places she heard about. "Well, the western lands will be so busy arguing amonst themselves how to fend off an attack, Im sure Miel here could walk right in a take over no problem. It shouldnt be too much for the king then. Much easier than trolls I am sure."

Mimiren smiled widely, taking the sttew from the girl happily. "Oh, thank you~!" he said, licking his lips. "Hmm....well, the last I heard was that most of them had fallen under Armastas' control. You know, that crazy man with the magic sword," he said, beginning to eat his stew. "I've also heard tell of an old dragon giving him aid in his endeavors."

Luke sighed softly, running a hand through his orangeish yellow hair, while the other rested between ears atop a vicious looking wolf's head. The wolf was far less vicious than he looked, Luke knew this for a fact. The human felt very inadequate especially being near the wolf, but if he hadn't been human, he wasn't sure he would have survived that explosion. He had nearly given in to despair when the wolf had found him. Found him in some tiny town that wasn't marked on any map. He shuddered lightly, forcing those thoughts away. He had reached his destination, pushing open the door of an Inn. He entered quickly, orange colored eyes glancing around this way and that.
Loki whined softly when Luke shuddered next to him. The poor boy was human and humans were fragile things. Loki himself was a wolf demon. It had been a long and hard journey but it had paid off. He had been reunited with his brother...the others though...he couldn't say for sure if he'd ever find them again. It had taken a very long time for him to regain his full strength after that explosion of magic eating energy..and it had scattered them to far reaches of the realm. Lues and Vit would be alright, they were strong and Lamia..she was a clever creature..that is..if they had even survived. Loki whined again when Luke pushed open the door of an Inn, he didn't hesitate though, the large black wolf stepped in not leaving Luke's side for a moment. Those feral eyes sweeping this way and that.

Mimrien turned his head, eyeing the two new figures not far from the entrance. He tilted his head curiously, ignoring the humanoid figure and eyeing the large, rather dangerous looking wolf, the beast's eyes sparkling with an odd intelligence. He took a quick glance at Nyth, who was watching the large canine with sparkling eyes, unsure of what to make of the demonic beast. In fact, Mimrien noted he even looked bigger, as if he had unintentionally in flated his body. It always made him wonder his companion's actual size. If he had any at all. He turned back, smiling at the newcomers from beneath his hood, warped eyes glowing only lightly where orange criss crossed through brown.

Luke pulled his long, tattered dark brown cloak tight around his body. It looked about two sizes too big for him, but that was alright. It had belonged to Lues and he was a rather tall fellow. For a moment, Luke brought part of the cloak to his nose and inhaled deeply, Lues scent no longer clung to the folds of the fabric, as it had been in Luke's possession for years..still the action and the memory comforted him some. Beneath the cloak he wore simple black shirt tucked neatly into tight black pants, the legs of the pants were tucked into knee high low heeled boots. A small dagger sheathed at his left hip and a poniard sheathed in a hidden sheath on the inside of his right boot. Luke offered a small smile and pat Loki gently atop the head. "..Hello.." Then he was moving to a table, and sitting down at it.
Loki's ears were pricked forward, those eyes narrowed just a bit at the male and creature that served as his companion. The wolf was silent though, no growl, no whine left his throat and when Luke moved to sit at a table, Loki sat on the floor next to Luke's chair and laid his head gently against the boy's thigh. Loki sat so that from the position of his head on Luke's thigh he could see the entire establishment..or at least this room of the establishment.
