Sounds like me. I have a bust that enters into the equation as well. I have to get large clothes to accommodate that and the ribcage, but it means that other places aren't liable to fit well...

We're both a little small on the bust-sizes. I'm too big for a B but too small for a C, and she's around thereabouts, too. My problem lies in my massive shakin' hips. They were made for bellydancing and makin' babies. They currently do one of those things. xDD
I don't know if I have a full-body pic so you can see the massiveness that are my hips. But I think the last time I checked my hips were 40" and my waist was 37.5"

@ Hyena: That's a helluva difference.
As for on the topic of lolita fashions, if I was to wear any I swear I would look like a guy in drag. Like my mom, I got a solid body type, meaning broad shoulders, hips about the same width, and big boobs. Seems having a rack runs in my mom's side of the family. In short, like my mom, I'm built like a brick s***house!

She's a BRICK.
HOOOOOUSE.
She mightay-mightay: let it allll hang out.
I look a lot like my mom in the face, but a lot more like my dad's mom in the body. Dad's family is all big swingy german hips and big shoulders and mom's family is all waiflike.
So apparently my mom + my dad = DEM THIGHS.

I have an hour glass figure, so my waist is around 7 inches narrower than my hips.
I too suffer from broad shoulders.

I wouldn't call it suffering. I'm gonna have on hell of a figure, that's for sure. No, correction; I've apparently already GOT a good figure. And my liking of PT makes it better. I'm more muscle than fat, which is WHY I'm such a solid build. Apparently, having a build like this makes me quite attactive.
Let's see...I'm full-blown German on my mom's side, and a freaking mutt on my dad's; German, Scottish, Welsh, English, Black Norse, and Pennsylvania Dutch. Not to mention there's fun little tidbits of family history on my dad's side of the family (descended from vikings and pirates...how can it get any better?), whereas on my mom's side of the family the most exciting thing that happened ws probably the family cheese factory. Which no longer belongs to the family, sadly.

I have viking heritage as well. Not sure about the pirate angle. Though are a fair amount of seafarers in there, so it may be.

Thank the Scottish in me for the "pirate" blood. I told that to one of my RL friends, and she was so jealous of me. I just told her that I can't chose my family, so there's nothing either of us can do about it.

oooOOooo! That's a pretty mixture. xD
For the longest time I thought that I was some variety of Swede because my mother's maiden name was Johanssen. But nope... Mayflower. Good thing I don't plan on marrying any other blue-bloods.

I'm mostly German. It shows. BIG BERTHIN' HIPS! -swingswing!-
I only plan on marrying blood if its encased in a beautiful body and comes attached to a brain capable of class.

Well yes. Even that might make me susceptible to marriage, even if I don't consider myself the marrying type.
I love the quotation from The Lion in Winter in which Eleanor of Aquitaine describes what first attracted her to Henry the II

That movie/play is full of crackling dialogue and some great one liners. Plus it has a young, pre-Bond Timothy Dalton

I think you will enjoy it. I really enjoyed Katherine Hepburn's Eleanor. Though I would have liked to see her play up the less-conniving bit of her more. It's not like it was all on that one level throughout the movie, but there wasn't a lot of variation. Eleanor is a personal hero of mine, you see.

*gate crashes the party* My family came over on the Mayflower too. On my dad's side. Mom's family came from England about 4 generations back.

I've got no freaking clue when my dad's side of the family came over and got mixed up, but I think my mom's family must've been fairly recent because my mom remembers my great-grandparents speaking a lot of German.
