the cover is the reason i despise the book Beauty Shop for Rent, and i refuse to read it. everybody doesn't want to read it in my school because of the cover.
its supposedly full of teenage drama (which i don't like anyway) but you would never be able to tell. its rated young adult and kept in the high school section, but it looks like it should be in the juvenile section.

I always focus on the summary on the back and the first couple pages more so than either title or author, unless it's an author who I have read stuff from before, then I give them special consideration.
Title doesn't really factor into my decision, as long as I can tell people what it is I'm reading without getting embarrassed, same logic behind covers as well. I figure the main focus should be the words. xD

When I go to a book store I don't judge on what the book looks like because a lot of really good books I have read have had boring covers or not really very entertaining covers.

Neither.
I usually go by how long it is (Under 300 pages? Pass. About 600? Hey, good looking!), then title/cover (doesn't hold much power), and then on to the summary/first page or two.
The author isn't factored in 'cause I can't retain names worth anything.

For me, it all depends. If i have heard of the author and like the other, than that attracts me. But if the title sounds awesome, then that.

I get most of my books from how it looks on the outside, the cover. If the cover isn't good enough, then why should I read it? Then I read the beginning chapter to see if it will hook me into the book. If it does not even do that, then obviously I wouldn't buy it. The authors matter if I read one of their book before or it's an on-going series. ^^ Though the books that I have are all very good, I must say. :D

Have any of you tried audio books? How do you think it compares to reading it yourself?
