I havent really noticed people obsessivly posting until recently. And yes it is quite annoying. Like they post things like if there going shopping or if they are just watching television. Does anyone really care about that stuff. I dont really think so.

I mean, I understand Facebook's status asks "What's on your mind?"
But I really doubt that "Watching TV" is going through their mind whilst watching television.

I know what you mean. ._.
The: "Like and I'll rate you out of 10" statuses. I mean, a couple times is okay I guess, but they keep on repeating it, over and over again - and only the same people like the status. >______________>;
And the constant status updates, I know one person who posts every hour: "At home", "In bed", "Going to ____" with his iPhone or whatever. And this is everyday, no joke.
Don't forget all the statuses about their totally dramatic lives, which is 'subtly' aimed at someone.
And then everyone comments: "Aw, what's wrong?", "Pm?" or "Chat? <3" Rofl, but those statuses aren't as annoying to me as the above two.
I've never seen anyone on my BL tlkn liek dis tho.
But this is the first time I've heard of the filter, so I will try look for that. ;p

I have people who just write novels for their status updates. And they are about NOTHING.
Just how their ENTIRE DAY STEP BY STEP went. That bugs the crap out of me!
And yeah, people who constantly post the "re-post this" and "like this" crap.
I usually just delete people who annoy me too much.
One girl got deleted because she used an apostrophe to form a plural all the time.
I also get annoyed when people post cryptic/vague statuses. Haha.
It bugs me but I usually just browse through the updates anymore because it's tedious.

I try to limit my facebook statuses, because I know I can be one of those people who is constantly on theirs. But yeah, it bugs me when someone I know talks about her relationships every five minutes. I try to limit my statuses to 3 or 4 a day if it's a busy day. I normally don't post one every day, but I just check my notifications. :)

Worse than annoying statuses about nothing are those mother freaking duck face photos that every girl in the world thinks is cute. It's NOT freaking cute!! IT'S A DUCK FACE, it makes you look like you're trying to catch a plane on your lip. D:<

I just want to say everything on this page is so relevant to my life and, lord.
The duck face, especially.
BUT WORSE IS WHEN THEY DO IT WITH THE PEACE SIGN.
Why the hell are you putting up the peace sign, when you start 98% of the drama you're involved in?!
So frustrating it's ridiculous.

Yeah..
I never care to stay on facebook 50 million times a day so I don't ever see it, nor do I have it on mobile or email alerts.
I don't care if people have no life that's their business.
I suppose though it can get annoying.
All those attention whores.
For shame.

Yeeeees! There's a difference between puckering your lips slightly and the annoying duck faced look. I'm okay with a slight pucker. But when you like you stuffed pringles in your mouth while taking pictures...
Meeeh, I don't know how people find that cute or attractive. When it's really the opposite. I'm sorry, I don't find Howard the Duck cute.

It drives me mad when people use Facebook like it's Twitter. Luckily I don't have many friends who do that.
I do however have my buddy's girlfriend as a friend on Facebook which was a bad mistake. She has like three different facebook accounts and has added me on all of them. On one, she makes statuses about how she misses her boyfriend, one's for quotes from vampire books, and the other she uses for everything else. She's a nice girl but good god, I've got like 30 friends on Facebook; half of them don't use their accounts frequently, so my wall is just VAMPIRE VAMPIRE ROLEPLAY I MISS MY BOYFRIEND LIFE SUCKS.

I had to remove my uncle from my friend list for almost that exact reason.
He's very closed-minded and opinionated and while that's acceptable in some cases, he did nothing but post hateful, negative, and mis-informed things about whatever was going on in he news. One of his friends actually jumped on me and insulted me after I pointed out to them that they had been mis-informed about what they were ranting about.
Since then I realized that everyone on Facebook really just should keep their dumbest thoughts to themselves. I don't get notifications anymore from over half of my "friends" just because I can't handle the vast amount of stupid posts they put up.

Ottersaurus- I hate seeing the bad sides of people, I've had to delete a lot of people from my list too because of the hurtful and biased things they say. This site really brings it out of people. You're free to express yourself, and pretty soon everyone's feeding off of everyone else, negativity and all.
I deactivated my Facebook for this reason (because of the annoying/offensive/irrelevant things people post, and all the spam). Mostly, because it's so easy to go on there and post to get attention. I mean, that's what it's for right? Posting your thoughts in public and getting attention it? After a while I found myself sucked into posting things that I normally wouldn't share with others, I realized I felt...brainwashed by the appeal of getting to express yourself uncensored and get attention for it. I feel so much better since I left the site. :)
I'll probably come back after a while, just since it's the easiest way to stay in touch with people. I just won't read my news feed so much.

voenne; It really does. I don't understand why everyone feels the need to be so hateful on Facebook. It was supposed to be a place for friends and family to keep in contact with each other, right? Well it's hard to keep up with your family and friends if you have to remove them because they never say anything positive or un-annoying.

Maybe the people you know are really young and childish? =D
I only have REAL friends on facebook, all older than 20 years.
None of them (except for one or two maybe...) post that annoying stuff.
Most actually post things that are interesting. xP
Edit:
I also think it's EXTREMELY immature to get annoyed by that. Sure, you can roll your eyes at your friends but you still know how they are offline. You like them, right?
But then there are those people who add "friends" they don't even like, don't care about, have never met, ... just to have 250586 friends instead of maybe 30-50. =D
It's so sad that many kids need that to feel like they important enough. :< I just ignore all friend requests from people I would not invite to my birthday party.
Facebook is best that way.

I care about that kind of stuff when it's people I care about!
I live pretty far from my very best friend at the moment and logging in to see her post what she does at the moment makes me happy. It's like calling someone just for the sake of talking about nothing in particular and ending up talking about EVERYTHING that's on you mind. =D
I want to know how my friends feel and if they post something simple like "watching movie XY with my cat sitting on my lap. Awww, she's so cute!" then it makes me smile.
If it was posted by people I don't care about (e.g. those old classmates I never talk to anyway), I would be annoyed I guess.

I honestly don't know why you would say something over a social networking site and not out loud to people in the real word. I mean, if you feel that strongly about something do something about it, don't just sit there and bitch on Facebook about it.

Notifications are exactly what facebook is for. Uploading pictures, songs, videos that you're watching/playing. It's a site that lets you share every aspect of your life with your friends online, so that your friends can see what you like and what you hate.
It's made to make people discover new things and maybe learn things faster.
I'm not saying that it's going to necessarily be things that you actually want to hear about, but there's a way of filtering things out, you just have to take your time and modify your account's settings.
If you don't like notifications, you can just disable them all in all, and if you really are interested in what your closest friends are up to, go on their profile and see what they've posted about recently. Or better yet, don't open facebook up and call your friends if you wanna hear from them :D

I think maybe the reason why people post all the time on Facebook because they are really bored and don't have much to do with there day. Or they are obsessed with Facebook and having attention from people that could be a reason too for people doing that, but I wont keep a person as a friend on Facebook if they are like that because it can get very irritating.

This thread is for the fun of ranting, for the people who got rubbed the wrong way with it.
I don't through a trantrum when I see someone posting about how they can't wait until their Hot Pocket is done, or when the microwave beeps, or how they burned their finger, or how they have to wait for it to cool, etc.

I just do that. And I don't see how it classifies people as immature by getting annoyed by something.
Everyone has their list of pet peeves.

I also know this girl who types like a monkey with a computer. She is the ultimate terrible facebooker.
She t!ps lyk diz and she updates every five minutes. Plus, all her statuses are about her boyfriend and her "love problems." >.>
I finally had to delete her from my feed because I couldn't put up with it anymore.
The urge to comment and say
"Translation: Oh man boy. You have hurt me deeply. I hope we can work things out."
on a status that says
"o m@n boii// u gotz mi hertinn. i hp we wrk th!s out."
was just too great. :P

I don't know why people type like that, it has to take more effort than writing normally. Luckily I don't have friends who type that way, because I don't know if I would be able to supress the urge to correct them >>;
-x-
I don't have anybody who posts obsessively about their everyday life. There is a girl who talks about her baby a LOT and constantly adds pictures of her son, but who am I to judge? I get irritated by the people who look for pity or complain about how horrible their life is. I had a friend who complained about how her friends always did things without her and never called her. My thought is, why don't you take the initative rather than whine on facebook? I have asked her to do things but she's always busy, so I stopped asking =/ I just think some people spend too much energy on the site.

Luckily no one I know plays the games with the exception of my step mom, and I tolerate that from her.
I get those "Find out what someone said about you!!" things a bit though. I'm always curious to find out just WHAT they're saying but I'd rather not have to deal with the thing giving me notifications every day. :?
