I'm male.
My avatar's female because I don't like the willowy, skinny, feminine looking male base used on this site at all, and never have done.
If I can't be a manly man, I'd rather be a woman.

And if the avatars where better wouldn't you go back to being a manly man?

I agree with Bookworm, always have. The male avatars are unspottable unless they're shirtless.
I could probably name off all the men on this site if I were asked. At least the ones that haunt more than the roleplay forums.
<--been around forevah, so she knows who they are.

Im male. And yes, there are fewer males that frequent these sites, unless they fiarly heavily into anime. And yes, it is kinda hard to spot male avatars on this site, and I do kinda hate that they are all "pretty" like, but whatever, I make do.

I rarely ever pay attention as to which gender the person I'm talking to is. @_@
It doesn't really matter to me as long as I'm having a good time chatting and/or roleplaying with them.

I never said that the male avatars weren't feminine, when I said they were good I meant in relation to how they were pixeled. However, the chances of the male bases being totally overhauled to be more manly happening is extremely slim. CIs and EIs as well as other limited edition items are all unisex, and in order for them to work on both genders the bodies would obviously have to be close in proportion. If they're not, it really does limit the unisex items that can be made and would cause a lot more work for the pixelists that already have enough to do.

The male bases have already be made more masculine once, much to the horror and disgust of a great deal of the male users
There's truly no pleasing everyone :ninja:

I'm sorry, but to me, neither of those bases are at all manly. Which is fine for those that like them that way, but not for me, as if I woke up and found I looked anything like either of those bases when I was just in my boxers, I'd cry.
I always find a way to be pleased though, that's why my Avatar's female and likely to stay that way :D

The new male bases, although still not manly, are still much better than the old ones, in pixel quality and in muscle definition. However, I may make the suggestion of body hair for an item, as a hairy chest would make it look much more manly. xD

Let's get some broad shoulders and arm/leg muscles on those avis and it would be easier to tell them apart, maybe a slightly different face shape in case they are in winter clothing lol It can be done, it would be helpful...

Well the old ones are much worse, maybe a more square chin for the males? A more broad body?

My avvie is male. Some of the clothes on it aren't tho.
I'm TG in real life, so what I was born as is kinda irrelevant. I think that's so with a lot of people tho. Too many people mix up sex with gender. We are all of us both in various aspects; our bodies make both testosterone and estrogen.

You guys are not considering an extremely important factor :)
The male and female avatars have to be the same size, or the clothes won't fit them.
Years ago all items were male or female, we unisexed a huge amount of stuff after numerous requests for that (apart from stuff with boobs and the very girly skirts). If the male bases were beefed up, then for a start no current item would fit them any more, after that, all new male items would have to be just that, male, because they wouldn't fit the female bases.
So we're very limited in our options for making the guys look less "pretty".

+1 to the body hair idea.
That would help greatly in the manlyness stakes.
I could probably deal with willowy look if it had hairyness to counteract it :D
It's how I coped with not having a neck on the avatars over on Gaia. Added some bodyhair and being neckless didn't matter.
Went from being not so manly looking

To being all man.
..and I don't mean a Yeti looking hairy item! Proper body hair. Yes.

I think the male base is fine, I just didn't
realize how many users were male up
to this point judging from their
avatars.

I really liked the new male base... sexy tummies. <3 The only thing I didn't like when it came about was that some of the items still have arms that don't fit.. I think the items in the fancy-pantsy shop, the really gross-looking/old ones, are still fitted to the old base.
I don't see a problem with the male avatars. They don't have boobs and you can't well give them boy-bits. I understand that bases need to be similar to make it easier on pixelists  Generally people ALWAYS complain that it's hard to tell the difference between male and female avatars on avatar sites. It would take serious hard work and determination to make it otherwise.
In my opinion, if I went to an avatar site with huge, bulky, bear-bases.. it would be kind of a turn off for me.
