I see what you mean about that now that you mention it. I've got a bit of OCD so I'd also do that. Alright I pick.... seventeen! It's easier for me to relate to a seventeen year old since I wasn't seventeen that long ago! And in boredom she might have decided to check out what was in the storage room and then found the doll and then wanted to put the choker back on it.
What is your way to convey a character, if I may ask? I always have a hard time with that, and I'm a stickler for details, so I end up writing a really long thing down.

And I understand why you would think of murder all the time! I have no reason aside from intense paranoia and anxiety!

Voice: Her voice is hinted with a Western accent, but not strongly-so. She is very outspoken, with a loud, demanding voice that sets her personality as a very independent and powerful woman. It’s light, nonetheless, very easy to note her as a female without looking at her. It’s never hesitant, always punctual and straightforward. There is never a point of second-guessing herself when she speaks. She can be soft and kind, but if she gets angry, her tone can reach borderline terrifying quality that sets anyone back a few yards.

Body Type: Not exactly hourglass-figured, Larissa is very well put together and it’s easy to see she is very confident. She is tall, around six feet tall but it’s hard to tell. Rather thin, she is also strong and it’s easy to tell she has done some heavy lifting in her time. A small waist is usually detailed by what she wears, her face sharply angled with a defined chin and small nose. Her legs are especially long, her fingers long but powerful.

Skin: A medium, sandy-tan, not too dark despite her being outside much of the time.

Hair: A mix of chestnut brown and lighter honey-toned tints, slightly curled and reaching just above her waist, the bangs in a single sweep over the left eye. It’s parted down the middle, and is usually in two low, loose pigtails.

Eyes: Rather large eyes, sharp and usually narrowed in concentration, with long lashes. They’re bright, deep blue, a bit watery, with paler blue flecks here and there.

Common Attire: A light cream-colored buttoned shirt with oversized sleeves and tight buttoned cuffs that keep the sleeves at her wrists and avoid falling over her hands, a light brown close-fitting vest that buttons three down, with a darker brown border and slight fringes along the bottom, and slightly angular collar. Her pants are the same color as the vest, tightly-fitted and easy to move around in, and are tucked into her boots, which come up to just below her knees and are closely-fitted around the ankle, but looser at the top, with rounded toes and a slight heel.

Accessories:

Belts- Larissa wears two belts, one of heavy dark brown leather that’s lined along the top and bottom with bronze links, the other made of brass plating and is ill-fitting, so it slips down one side of her waist.

Armwear- On her left arm are two dull silver bracelets, one linked to the other. On her right arm is a thick leather cuff with silver studs in two parallel rows.

Miscellaneous- She wears a floppy-rimmed hat made of leather and tough cloth, a tanned color with a faded red cloth band around its base.

Personality: Larissa is a very confident person. She never relies on anyone just because they’re bigger or at a higher status than she is. Strong willed and independent, she has made her own way for a while now, and despite being harsh and uncensored, she is rather kind and caring.

Physical Strength: She can lift more than her own weight, but only that up to twenty pounds more, and has quite a bit of lower body strength from pulling carts when needed in the past.

History: Larissa was born and raised on a very small farm. Her family was also a small one, and they owned two acres of land and several horses, an ox, and several goats. The family used the land to grow various crops, and when they sold out after their inability to pay taxes on the land after a horrible drought killed their crops and most of their animals, Larissa broke off from her family and stole a horse, taking to living her life the way she wanted to.

Alright, get ready for some brainstorming between posts! So, what were your ideas for sidekicks and the like?

Well that depends. I mean, I've had an idea for a cat-based person, something like a neko but not quite, one who used to be my own character's friend and somehow finds their way to where he now apparently lives with the family. Since the demon is awakened now, its aura has spread despite it being in the body of a doll, and it's brought about a lot of strange happenings that really make up the base and filler of the plotlines themselves.

Ah, yes that's a good idea! And that would make up for a lot of different things, too... Of course, my character would probably get dragged into strange happenings by being with the doll. I assume our characters will eventually be on good terms, yes?

Oh, I'm pretty sure the entire family would be involved in everything strange. You know, since it's a family who used to be exorcists that sealed the souls of demons and nonhumans in various artifacts and the like.

It's cool, I just sent my reply back and it's shorter than the first one. I hope that helps give your character more of an opening.

It's all right, make yours as long or short as you like, depending on the amount of detail you have in the post! I try to put a lot of detail, but when the character is disoriented and dizzy, it's hard to do!

Oh my goodness, him summoning those hummingbirds was priceless! I'm just having some problems with how I should continue one with the family. I'm having Alexis calm during the whole thing, because though she never heard about the choker, she did know that her family was involved with exorcists.

Well, perhaps the family could call a conference in the main living room or den, or what you would like to call it, and the Mayao should be there as well, though of course is reluctant to even get near the family. But that is my thought on the subject. I just included an inkling to the name Hughes in Mayao's memory, as well.

Yes, yes, I think that's where I'm going to be heading with that. And with Alexis having put the choker on the doll, she feels repsonsible for his unhappiness and the form that he's now in.

I felt Mayao was going a little too hard on Alexis, so I toned it down and made him think about it. It's not her fault he was put in the choker, and despite her curiosity bringing him into the body of a female doll and altering his powers, he takes most of the blame off her and might just blame her family, who intentionally kept his soul around without either destroying the choker or releasing him.

Ha! I was acutally going to make her side with Mayao during the family meeting! And I didn't mention it, but she's got a bit of an attitude when it comes to her mother. They have clashing personalities, what with her mother being prim and proper and Alexis being... Well, not so much.

I saw that for her personality in her profile. I figured it would be a bit of a rough clash between personalities. I love the idea, though! Puts them on a bit of friendlier terms.

And since she sees herself responsible, she see's him as an actual person with feelings, not just a talking doll. So she sort of pits herself against her family that way, by disagreeing with them.

Well, it should be seen that he is still someone with emotions, despite being in a shell. An appearance is secondary, the person within the shell is the thing that matters.
Also, I thought I would bring out his sarcastic, mean side in my post, just so you know!

I loved it! I laughed, but tried to do so quielty as not to wake Renee! And I completely agree with him! I'd be mean too! Heads up, her fathers name is Randall, since that was the first thing tha popped into my head, her brother Mark and her mother... Uh, lets see. Jackilyn, I suppose. I wanted something that sounded slightly stuffy, but its funny because its my own mothers name!

I laughed when I wrote it. Sometimes I surprise myself in how I make something sound, either funny or very mean. Oh, Randall keeps my mind going back to the zombie in Ugly Americans. It's so sad, it is. But if you want a stuffy name...! Where is she... not here, all right. Shelia seems very feminine and stuffy! It's actually Raine's middle name, and she hates it!
