Cyrus lead snivy off his arm, and it stood confidently in front of him. he pulled out his pokedex. "Snivy, the Grass Snake Pokémon. Cool, calm, and collected, Snivy uses photosynthesis to collect energy with the leaf on its tail. " it said.

"Should I go first?" Haley smiles happily. She keeps her dex open just in case. she can see the HP on the screen as well as the pokemon itself. Adrenaline seems to be going through her. She almost jumps with excitement.

"Vulpix lets start off with a ember!" Vulpix braces itself and with its mouth embers with the ember attack. Sparks of fire throw itself onto Snivy. "I know fire is super hard on grass pokemon. this should be easy." she chuckles.

((Hello, I'm the late one))
Name: Nae Stone
Bio: At 14 years old, Naila is the oldest of her parent’s children. Naila wanted to be a pokémon trainer for the longest, but she was definitely more needed back at home to help around the family farm with others chores. But that never stopped her from learning all she could about Pokémon. When the sun went down she’d turn on the oil lamp in her room and read the books she managed to get on their trips to market, so that when the time came, she’d be ready.
Pokémon you have chosen: Going for the lvl 5 Sandshrew.
hp - 23
attack - 15
defense - 17
sp. attack - 9
sp. defense - 12
speed - 11
Pic/description:
She works on a farm though, so her outfit will be overall shorts, a sturdy pair of boots, a boat-neck t-shirt, and a scrunchy, important to get keep the hair out of the way.

"Oh no, no, no!!" Nae said hurriedly as she rushed into town on her bike. Nae was late, and she knew it. She'd gotten turned around on the way to town, and with the help of some kind locals, had managed to find her way, but that still didn't change the fact that time was no longer on her side.
She tugged at her hair tie and shouldered her pack to better support it's weight as she rode.
Okay, so she was late. No matter. She would get to the lab, and get herself a pokemon.
"Professor Ash is a POKEMON PROFESSOR, no way he could just, run out of pokemon." she said to reassure herself, "yeah" she laughed with a nervous edge, "there'll still be pokemon left." She pedaled her bike a little harder as the city limits came into sight.
"Yes! I'm going to make it."
She skidded to a halt in front of the largest building which she presumed to be Professor Ash's lab. The ground had shown signs of a large crowd, now gone, and the gates were wide open. Nae hesitantly leaned her bike against the right gate and began to make her way into the lab.
----------
Nae just prayed Professor Ash really would have Pokémon left.

Arisa was surprised at the speeding bicycle and moved out of the way so it could stop, even though it stopped inches away from where she was originally standing. After the dust cleared up, she clearly saw a girl slightly older than she was, but had that new trainer look about her. The battle she was watching was exciting to watch, but duty came first as she approached the girl with a smile. "Good morning! That was pretty fast. There's no rush... My uncle makes sure he has Pokemon in stock for those late risers." She didn't mean that in an offensive way if the girl took being late to be a bad thing. It was meant more to seem like a friendly joke than anything else. "I'm assuming he's still in the lab and it can get pretty confusing in there so would you like me to show you the way? Or can you manage on your own? Doesn't matter either way."

(( MistWater:: I really want to respond to your character, but I have a question. Is Venya the only one who can roleplay for Ash and his response to them, or is the good professor, so long as he is kept in character sort of free for all?))

((Um... You know, I'm not sure... So far Venya was only playing the professor when it came to giving out Pokemon and gear... Arisa only referenced his responsibilities while fulfilling her own. Though the professor should only be an NPC. At least so the story can move along...))

((Hmmmm, I just want to get in the door, and get Nae her little sandshrew. I wonder if Venya will be on anytime soon, ah well. here goes, lol.))
Nae looked over at the girl who'd appeared at her side. Had she always been there? It looked like there had been a lot she'd missed in her rush to the lab. Two other trainers appeared to be battling. There was no way to be absolutely sure, but judging by the roughness of their technique they were both a bit green as well, but there was definitely a lot of spirit.
She missed most of what the girl said, but she now seemed to be trying to back track and was a little bit flustered. It was cute, she reminded Nae of her younger sister Reka in that way. Reka was always putting her foot in her mouth and often found herself attempting to save the situation, luckily for her she was cute.
Quote:
"would you like me to show you the way..."

Nae really had only just realized how large the lab really was. If she was offering help, Nae would definitely have to take her up on that offer.
"Would you please? I honestly have no idea where to go from here. I got a little turned around on my way to town, my family runs a farm near the mountains, so everything is a little new to me." Nae fell into step behind the girl, "By the way my name's Nae. Nice to meet you." she said with a smile.

((I could probably do as much as I can before then just to help the story come along, I suppose. A step forward.))
Arisa could somehow tell the girl's mind was elsewhere as she spoke, considering she looked a bit rushed or nervous about something. Maybe both. She would be, too if she was late for something and didn't know how things worked. Arisa's smile was still in tact, however, as she suggested to the girl that she lean her bicycle on the lab's wall till she was ready to use it again. Though bringing it in could be possible, too as the garage was attached to the building. Either way.
"I'd be happy to lead you then. I haven't lived here long, but having a curious mind, I'd managed to memorize the entire building within a week." She'd only lived there for about a month... Just before her tenth birthday.
The door was open and she allowed the girl to go in first before closing the door behind herself. "My uncle's really nice so there's no need to be nervous. Unless of course you're nervous about being too late for your chosen Pokemon. There's no need to worry about that. He has a pretty good system going." She was referring to his own method. First the helpful research ahead of time involving what the parents had either asked about or overheard when it came to their child's dream starters. Then the breeding came right after. He also had friends nearby who'd helped hatch and carefully raise them to the proper level.
"My name's Arisa by the way. I only just started my journey, too, but lab duties come first. He's been expecting any late arrivals and I couldn't just back down near the end, even when given permission."
Her Pokemon agreed by saying her name. "Pika!"

((sorry it took forever for me to post. Christmas and all kind kept me busy. you are allowed to play the professor if you want. Just try to keep character. He's a nice fella.))
Professor Ash heard the door close and he swore he heard foot steps. He gets up from his desk from the back of the lab and comes to the front and see's his cousin. He chuckles when he see's the late girl. "ah you made it." he smiles walking closer and putting his hand out for a handshake. He can hear a battle going on outside from the fire blasting from a such a small pokemon. "Are they battling?" he asked Arisa.
Vulpix seemed uneffected again but the dex said differently. Snivy seemed weak though and could barely stand. "Come on Vilpix one last blast!" she says as vulpix does it again. Blasting embers from her mouth and almost hitting the snivy. She seemed to have missed this time. "what?!"

"Yeah. And quite a battle. Hard to know who's winning. They're both quite strong despite their types." Arisa wasn't ready to go back out there, though to see the outcome. By the time she got there from the building the battle would probably be over. Instead she proceeded to the same area as before to retrieve all the devices. They'd been pushed back and were now hidden under the top shelf of the desk they were placed on.
With Pikachu securely on her head again after having to place her down to bend over for the devices, Arisa walked back over to the girl and waited for her to retrieve and meet her Pokemon first.

((It's fine, these are the days of the holiday season after all. c ': I hope I did a decent job of staying in character, without boxing anyone off. Arisa is getting the pokedex(es?) from where they're stored right? I think stopping here gives her a chance to come in, with the aid of the professor, to get get Nae completely set up.))
Nae walked through the door way, and waited on the other side of it for Arisa to retake her position as leader. "Woah," she thought "this girl is related to Professor Ash! That has to be cool, having someone who knew so much about pokemon right there in your family tree." And speak of the devil, there was the professor. She shook his hand upon introduction, in a manner that she hoped seemed firm, but not desperate.
"Hello Professor" she bowed a bit, "I'm Nae, and I'm sorry to be so late."
The Professor laughed at the new trainer. "It's quite all right. If I do remember correctly, I was a little late on my first day as a trainer, just like yourself, and I wound up meeting my best friend." Ash said with a smile, "So now then, let's get you a pokemon."
"Really? You were really late on your first day? But you're a professor!" she covered her mouth, who had she said was good at putting their foot in there?
"Yup. It doesn't matter where you come from, or when you begin or who you know, so long as you go out there and do it." Professor Ash nodded with an old fire in his eyes, "Now, let's get you started on your journey." The professor had taken note of Arisa going to retrieve the gear, so he went to the pokemon storage and retrieved 5 empty pokeballs, and the one with the sandshrew inside. Ash returned to the area of the lab where the latest arrival stood. "And what pokemon were you looking for?"
Nae responded a little more boldly, to recover from her earlier misstep, "I was hoping for a Sandshrew for my first pokemon." she said waiting.
"A sandshrew huh..." Ash seriously seemed to be troubled, at this Ash said, "You're in luck, there's exactly one sandshrew left," handing handing her the pokeball, "why don't you call him out?"
Nae let out a sigh of relief as the pokeball toughed her hand, nodded and called her new Sandshrew out. She croutched down to be on level with her pokemon.
"Hi there, I'm Nae, and I'll be your new trainer. Pleased to meet you."

Vulpix was hit hard. She lets out a yell of pain and drops to the floor. "no!" Haley yelled almost throwing her dex on the floor. She ran to Vulpix and gently picked her up. Seeing a smile on Vulpixe's face. Haley sighs happy to have lost on her first battle. IT means her training has started. She gets up though and ran inside the professor Ash's place. "Professor!" she ran to the small group with Vulpix in her arms. "Professor do you have a healing station?"
"Yes I do." he bows down to Nae and Arisa. "Please give her, her items. Thank you Arisa." he walks to the station on the right side of the lab and pointed where everything should go. Vulpix was healed in minutes.
"Thank you professor." Haley says seeing Vulpix sitting there with glee.

She wanted to point out that the Sandshrew was the only one he'd specially bred and raised, but he seemed busy at the moment. It was true, however. She knew her uncle didn't like to breed too many of the same species only to let them go later. He only needed one per trainer and since he did his research ahead of time, there wasn't any hassles. Except maybe for the gender, but most of the time they were male depending on Pokemon...
She nodded toward her Uncle's direction as the girl with Vulpix went with him to find the healing machine after the quick dash inside. Arisa made her way over to Nae with the devices. "My Uncle already handed you the Pokeballs, which I subconsciously grabbed... So no worries there." She handed over the devices. "Here's the rest of what's needed. Pokedex and Pokegear. We all got them. Although..." Arisa took a look at the desk and saw something shimmer and figured it out. She sighed and giggled to herself at what he'd forgotten and picked them up. "Your badge case..." She handed that to her as well. "Excuse me while I delivery the rest of them..." She turned to walk toward the healing area first, hopefully not missing the guy with the Snivy as he would be next.

Arisa seemed right on time as she entered the room just then and was relieved to see the guy hadn't left yet. Though, why would they leave after a battle without healing first anyway? The thought never crossed her mind back then as she approached him now, figuring she'd get to the girl later. "Um... There was something we forgot to give you the first time." She handed the guy his badge case confidentially. "Here you go. Take care of it!"
