Kaya followed, matching her step to the gods. At the clearing, however, he broke away from the group, and she went around, nosing a few friends from neighboring packs, sniffing a few of the outskirters curiously. Kaori spoke up, and the female moved back with her group, nudging between her sister and mother, before laying down, enjoying the warmth.

He'd spoken of the humans before, and Kaya hadn't believed him. Still, when she looked around to see the various wolves gathered together, it was hard to picture more humans that wolves. She turned her attention back to the male, keeping her opinion to herself.

Kaori looked around at his followers. Those who trusted him. Those who held him in such high regards. Some whom avoided him because they were wary of him. “These creatures... These humans... They will rake up the land, deface it with... these massive dwellings of metal and wood and... and manufactured product. Things foreign to this land, and to us. They will bring their weapons onto this land and kill without remorse, without considering the absolute worth of what they kill. They will come after us, the dominant race of this land, and wipe us out. They will bring new disease to both the land and water, poisons, that will sicken and weaken us.”

Kaori paused. He had been dreading this moment. “And I know this. I’ve seen it with my own eyes. I appear before you, in most consideration, as your god, and you are right.” He glanced to where Kaya sat with her pack, then closed his eyes. The fur on his body slid off into folds of fabric as his posture lengthened vertically, paws once more becoming hands, legs growing longer, hair becoming much longer on his head, a mane of white that caught the wind much easier than his wolf-fur.

Kaya listened quietly, though she began to get rather fidgety. She knew what was coming...but she still sat up and shifted a few steps back when Kaori shifted. It was strange, seeing all the details. The previous night, she hadn't seen his physically change, due to the snow. Her mother and sister were equally alarmed, their hackles rising at the strange creature who was a wolf a moment ago.
