  • Laura shrugged and then put on her seat belt even though she disliked it. From there she began the car and drove off towards the east. It was only a matter of time before the buildings got smaller and more spread out. She woundered if it would be scary to be a Fae in this place. They barely ever roamed far from their colonies, or homes, or however they wanted to describe their living expectiations. They were careful and smart as well. More than anything, Laura hoped they weren't just rumors and this time-- were real.

Finally they came to an area where there were no tall buildings. There were homes, parking lots, a park, and a few other nice things. It was the peaceful side of the city. It was the side that not everyone even got to witness unless they ventured out for themselves. Everyone was just too caught up in the city life to exit it for a short amount of time. Laura parked the car in a fairly open parking lot. "This should be the area. I think there might be a few more houses that way," She said as she pulled off her seat belt. "If I was a Fae, i would live on the outer part of the outskirts, don't you think?"

Elizabeth nodded.

"I think that's a reasonable assumption," she said, looking around. "As far from the screaming metal deathtrap city as it's possible to get and still be in civilization." She grinned a bit. "You know that's how the Fae have to think of a city. It's all steel." She looked around again, absently patting her pockets to make sure she had what she needed. "So, where to now? You're the one who knows where this Fae is likely to be."

  • Laura agreed. It was interesting to think about. So many humans and supernatural other then Fae, welcome cities. They often enjoyed living in them. It was easy to hide within the site of so many people. Fae, however, viewed it more of a trap. Something they only lived around if they deemed it necessary. She woundered how it would feel to think and have to live like that.

"Hm," Laura muttered looking around. "Lets head over that way. The homes look more roomier,"

It was several blocks away, but Laura finally stopped and put her hands her hips, looking across the street at a small home. It was what people might see in a quaint movie. "I'm going to go ahead ans say this looks about right. Do you know if there are any specific ways we should go up and introduce ourselves? I mean geesh, Fae are so rare around here. We totally should have brought some gift. Or anything for that matter," she said and started to ramble a bit. It was what Laura had been waiting for- for such a long time.

As they got closer to the quaint little house, Elizabeth was able to pick up the faint scent of otherness that she typically associated with the Fae. It was an earthy, herb-like, almost-sweet scent that had just a hint of spice to it, and it got stronger as they got closer.

"Yeah, I think this is it," she said to her sister, nodding. "Definitely smells like Fae." She gestured to the door. "Go knock? I mean, it can't hurt just to go say hello, right?"

  • Laura chuckled a bit at herself. Of course that's what she would do. She was just excited and jittery at the moment. She took a deep breath and walked up to the door. There was an undeniable feeling of Fae all around. It was calming to her.

Reaching out her hand, Laura knocked, hopeing that this was her chance.

There were a few moments where nothing happened. And then the door opened to reveal the Fae. Claramae was fair skinned and red-haired with hazel eyes, and she moved with a grace not found in humans.

"Yes, may I help you?" she asked, glancing between the two on her doorstep.

Elizabeth subtly nudged her sister forward.

  • "Oh, ah yes, my name is Laura and this is my sister Elizabeth," Laura said with a little stumble as she was quickly brought back to the moment at hand. It was amazing how even at a first look the Fae was so elegant and graceful. Looks were not everything, however. The fae that answered the door was likely to also be quite powerful and smart. Laura knew that Fae were more then simple creatures.

"I've been waiting a very long time to get in touch with some Fae. I am a Gifted, and my sister is a Vampire. We've resided here in this city for quite some time and this is one of the first times recently that Fae have arrived. Is there anyway that we can sit down and talk sometime? I'm very interested in learning from you. Of course if you need any information on the area around here, or have any questions, i would of course do what I could as well," Laura mentioned. She didn't want to seem to forward, but it was useless for her to lie.

She was confident that they could work something out.

Claramae raised an eyebrow delicately as the witch spoke. Well, she certainly couldn't fault the girl for wanting further instruction; Claramae could sense the girl's power even from where she stood, and she could see that guidance was necessary. The girl's sister, however...

"Well, you are more than welcome to come in," she said to the witch, nodding. She made sure her intent was only directed towards the Gifted girl. "I am called Claramae."

  • Laura looked back at her sister, eyebrows a little furrowed. She didn't want her to be upset. It didn't surprise her that the Fae wasn't keen on Elizabeth. Fae were known for such gracefulness and purity. Vampries were very much opposite.

Thinking about her options, Laura tossed her keys to Elizabeth. "You take the car. I'll take a bus or cab or something when I need a ride," She commented. At least that would leave the rest of the day for whatever she wanted to instead of meeting with a Fae.

Laura then turned back and bowed her body a bit in a proper greeting. "I'm Laura. Nice to meet you,"

"I'll wait for you out here," Elizabeth said as she caught the keys. "No big deal." Really, she wasn't surprised; there were quite a few species out there that didn't like vampires, so she was used to being prejudiced against. And at least this way, she would be able to listen to the conversation and keep a metaphorical eye on her sister.

"Laura," Claramae said, rolling the name around in her head for a moment. "A humble name. Good, being humble is good." She gestured for Laura to sit down. "Tea?"

  • Laura had been looking around a tad as she spoke. She hoped she wasn't let down, even though it would be her own fault for putting so much into one thing. One would think that after living for so many years things would change.

"Oh, oh yes please," Laura answered sitting down. The aura of the home was warm, nice. It was so Fae like. When the tea was in her hands she took a small wiff, smiled, and sipped at it.

"Can I ask what a Fae is doing here? I mean i know not many come around places like this too often,"

Claramae looked at Laura for a moment before making her own cup of tea. It was her own blend, a mix of jasmine, oolong, and a hint of honeybush.

"I felt the need to get away for a little while," she said. "I wanted a quiet place, away from the Courts." That, and she'd heard some rumors lately that bothered her, but she wasn't going to mention that yet.
