Temple: Smores:

Wyrm will be using Dungeons and Dragons 4th Edition which was designed for people who are new to table top gaming. By far the most difficult part of 4E is designing a character and we have worked out a step-by-step guide for that, and the two of us would be more than happy to answer any questions you have on any of the game mechanics. : )

Wyrmskyld: The "Unclassified" section of the RP forum is noted for RP games. I just noticed it today and figured you could use the info (if, that is, you hadn't noticed already... which you probably did.)

For people who don't have the books, I have a website started that will cover everything. Unfortunately I got called out of town while I was working on it, so it's VERY incomplete at the moment. It does have a little information if you want to study up on the races and classes, but again, the site is a work in progress, and I'm on a borrowed computer so I don't have the info handy to work on it. Still, I plan on it being one of the main reference sources for when I start up the game, and it can be found here: DnD With Wyrm

And I keep saying this, but I would also like to thank Mythos for massive contributions to the site. :)

Awesome! And I'm home again, so I actually have the materials to complete the reference website I'm building for us!

I'm aiming on finishing the site and getting an OOC thread up by the end of the week.

Okay, so I think I was a little ambitious thinking I'd be done by the end of this week. Every time I think I'm getting somewhere I find 50 more things I need to get up on the site. I am working on it, though, and I'll post a notice here when I'm done and we can start on the fun part!

Definitely can't rush that.
Wyrm, I can't remember if you said you had tried 4E D&D before, I know you've tried a D&D version, but if you need any quick reference/advice on something on the DMing side I'm your... 'man'. ...now I have to go listen to another hour of Michael Buble.

On a side note: Nephila, your avatar is absolutely, 100% lovely!

Ooooh, D&D :D I would be interested in playing although I've had in the past some frustrations with leveling up and choosing feats and powers and all that (although that was with 3.5, so it'd be easier with 4.0 maybe? but that would be cancelled out by the difficulties my health is currently giving me)

It is easier to build/level characters in 4E, as it was designed to be more approachable for people beginning into tabletop gaming rather than the advanced players 3.5E was made for. I'm sorry to hear that you're having health problems... I think it might be a little while before this bird gets off the ground (no one has made characters yet, after all), is there a chance things will clear up in (considering how much there is against how ridiculously fast Wyrm works) a week-two weeks or so?

Aww thank you (re: "sorry") :)

*nod* I have sat in on some 4th ed stuff and even with it being easier I still might have a very low tolerance for having to choose between possible options. I'd probably feel like I had to make the best / perfect decisions and would stress about it! Which I could handle if I weren't sick.

I used the word "currently" but... I've been sick for four and a half months and don't forsee it getting better super soon. I could potentially say "I'd like to be x, y, and z" (like elf or striker or magic user or what not) and you could do creation / levelling and I could just use whatever feats and powers and such you thought would fit in best. It would mean more work for somebody else of course - if somebody could spend five minutes on it and be done then I'd ask but otherwise I would NOT want to make people do the extra work.

And actually, on second thought, even with a premade character my health'd be such that I could potentially be unreliable, which is why I haven't done roleplays here much before. D&D was too interesting a proposition to pass up talking about so plese excuse my rambling. I hope you all have a lot of fun with the game!

I'm sorry you're sick, too, diave! I'd dangle out things like 'I'm pretty sure this is going to be slow-paced compared to actual face-to-face tabletop', but... I'm not really sure it is, and when you're sick you're sick and it feels awful to think you're slowing everybody down. *hugs*
