I think when parents go to the extent of swearing at their child(ren) that it can be pretty upsetting for them, simply because kids assume that they get unconditional love from their parents if not anyone else.

I think the thing that insulted me the most was a former close friend of mine going behind my back and telling everyone how 'innocent' I was to the rest of my friends. Just because I didn't have a very sexual mindset at the time (and didn't talk about things like that every other sentence), I automatically was this pure little thing that she was determined to corrupt. I couldn't even stand up for myself because I wasn't going to public school. That's the worst kind of thing to me. It hurt like hell.

I’ve been called a whore by someone I thought was my friend, quite recently. I’d like to know when I had sex for money and where the money went, ‘cause I could use some right now…
It did hurt quite a bit, but I think insults hurt most when they are made by someone you love, rather than what it is.

A random stranger can come up to me and call me an assbutt and I will only shrug and go: "meh." on them. But if someone comes up to me, whom I consider "safe", and make an insult, it'll hurt a lot worse. (Parents, relationship-partner etc.)

LadyDesi: what did he call you? (I might be able to find a translation that fits....)

Pretty much everything under the sun...

The worse one for me is when someone tells me I'm worthless, useless, or a disappointment...
So that's that...

I got an insulting compliment.

I think the proper term is "Non-anorexic model" isn't it?

I can't remember the worst, but one that certainly left an impression was when a girl walked up to me in middle school (I was about 8 years old and got bullied all through middle school), said "I regret I have the same name as you" and walked off again. I had never met her before and didn't know who she was, so the only way she could've known my name in the first place is because other kids talked about me, or because kids heard other kids talk about me and bullied her instead because she was also called Caroline.

The funniest one I've heard was "I hope you get chronic diarrhea and tiny arms". From my ex-boyfriend, in an argument about nothing in particular.

Oh, that is sad Volucria...about that other Caroline saying that about you when you didn't even know her...what a way to find out people talked about you behind your back.

And that insult from your boyfriend is funny...even if he might have been serious about it.

I don't really get insulted by what someone says. It might annoy me if it's racist, sexist, or what not but most the time I just laugh and tell them to think whatever they want to think.

The only time I can really remember recently getting ticked, like honestly ticked, is when I was visiting my partner and some guy told him to "stay away from our white women". That instantly ticked me off because I have very little tolerance for racist remarks.

Wow... and to think specifically to state "white women"... basically alienating every single other race...

Sometimes I wonder how they get "women" to start with if they're so rude... white or otherwise

Yeah, they're kinda racist up that way but not as bad as where I live now. They had the nerve to shout that from a truck so I told them to come say it to my face. My partner was just like "Rei, shut up" and told me to get in the car. Really, if you're going to be a jerk and say stuff like that don't be a coward and run away after.

I've had every misogynistic epithet ever created hurled at me before. For me that pretty much takes the cake. Honestly, I WISH people had clever insults for me. I almost never insult people so I can't offer any of my own. Little to no practice there. =P

It gets strangely enjoyable watching them try to string them together to make new insults after that point...

My father once told me i looked like something that belonged in a Chinese knocking shop. Most of the insults i've ever been offered come from him, and they're all just as pleasant.

I never really insult people unless they're my close friends and it's out of love. So all my friends are computer nerds, like myself, and therefore I feel my best insult would have to be (this is going to be lame):

"I hope your computer crashes."
