Sewing is easier than you'd think! Just have needle and thread, and do whip stitches. Granted, if you want it in a stronger hold, you have to do other kinds, but whip stitch is enough for quick fixes.

You two look so similar I keep mistaking you for one another

I haven't made a lot of plushies, but I'm good at sewing so these would likely not be that hard.

Hee. I'm the one with sunglasses o3o

Just remember that plushies are 3D. That can give you trouble if you aren't used to it. And people who ARE used to it, sometimes still mess it up.

Black and Red.
All I'm good at is cross stitching, because obviously, they have those tiny boxes Stitching takes time, not something I like a lot >.<

That's why I said whip stitch, it is a fast stitch. You can go through a thing crazy fast.

But a sewing machine is a million times easier.

I don't let people tell me that they can't sew buttons, I hand them a button, fabric, a needle and thread, and then sit on them while they figure it out

.. I feel asleep.

FINALLY.

But now I just ache. Nothing quite like being up for over twenty-four hours to make you just stop moving.

The joys of chronic illness, everyone.

Hope you feel better, Zira!

I've wanted a new sewing machine for a few years now. Not projects on the horizon, but I think I'm going to hold off a bit till my son is a bit older (he's 5yo) because he is the king of no boundaries. I'd let him have at it with a needle, thread, and fabric, but he has hypotonia (low muscle tone) and the probability of self-acupuncture is a bit high.

Thank you

Ooooh, yeah. Not a good idea, there. But when he's older, I can see it. I wasn't allowed near the sewing machine or needles until I was eight or nine. Even then, under supervision. But my family also had them long before I was born, so there's that.

I need to say this just because: I love zombie movies! To the extent that it drives my family nuts.

With Otto, my son, I would love it if he wanted to sew anything. My mom is a fiberholic. She is into carding and spinning yarn, knits, crochets, sews - even puts on demos for Renaissance and Victorian festivals. Soki taught herself to sew, mostly out of frustration when we no longer had a machine. I taught her what little I knew - evidently the gift of sewing is not genetic.

Zombie movies are the BEST! Not that anyone but my mom agrees in my family :V

Haha, yeah. Sewing is all about practice if you want it good! Just like art and pretty much anything else! Practice makes perfect and all that.

I do felting, but that isn't so much sewing as it is sculpting. I take wool, and I stab it over and over, more times than anyone would bother counting, until it turns into something you shaped.
