I'm too socially awkward when it comes to meeting people. Especially when lots of people are around in close proximity. Scary shit.

It's why my list of friends is small. Like really small. It's like a club. Except it's free and you only get to be part of it if you can stand me.

Well, it's better than having nobody at all.

I've been there, and it sucked so bad.

And a few real friends are better than a million half-assed ones.

True. Best to know a few people really well than alot of people who you know barely anything about.

It at least helps with the anxiety because you don't have to remember so many names. Plus side of that. Downside is there is very few people who you really talk to and you come to get tired of alot of people because you really learn who they are because of it.

A friend is someone who knows all about you and still likes you.

I figure if they still like me, they're worthy of me liking them.

I've had a tiny few friends who have always been there for me, and some newer ones who seem to think I'm some sort of special super-genius goddess or other, and I don't know why, and then there's the ones I know and don't really feel much affection for, like they're just people I know.

Most of them time I just prefer to be alone, at least in real life, but having some friends has kept me alive at times.

Also true. I guess I like the redeeming qualities in people even if I might get angry at them from time to time.

Not a bad statement to make.

Ha. I have old friends who like my jokes and sarcasm because it always makes them laugh, new friends who have a hard time understanding my jokes or sarcasm, and people who forget my existence even if i'm friends with them. There's some good friends I have but i'm mostly alone. Waiting for the big 2-1 so I can get my drink on legally. There's one way of dealing with anxiety.

Yeah, just don't turn a crutch into a wheelchair!

Use it like training wheels, or an accessory, and learn to rely more and more on your experience and leveling-up socially.

Then you're just like 90% of the people out doing the same thing, and there's no need for the anxiety anymore.

Good point. I'm just really exhausted of people as of late though. I don't know why. Life, perhaps...

Leveling up socially? I wish I had an experience bar to know when it's happening. And how my progress is.

Yeah, but drinking only delays the problem though. It doesn't make it any better. It's not a permanent fix for anything. It's just a temporary thing.

What books have you been reading? O wO

I'm pretty good, hehe. My parents finally decided to buy some cake, since we've been kind of busy thee past few days. I'm probably not going have a party for my birthday either, LOL.

Yay!

Shadorilia, you've just met like some of the coolest people here, so hooray!

You know, I was once so shy I faced extreme embarrassment on an almost daily basis rather than speak up before it was too late, because I just couldn't speak up.

I was too embarrassed to say in front of everyone that I had to go pee when I was little, and wound up having emergencies every time. Then everyone made fun of me, and humiliated me, and it made it even harder to try and ask to go to the washroom.

And I was too embarrassed to go with everyone else, because I might make a noise or something, and every time anyone made a noise, everyone laughed.

I just wish to god I could have been home-schooled.

I'm better now, though. I mean, I'll fart on a bus and own up to it even, I refuse to be ashamed of doing anything anymore if I know everyone else does it, too.

Getting me on a bus in the first place though, now that I'm still working on. I hate buses, they're full of people.
I used to want to be homeschooled, but then I kind of missed my friends after the holidays and the breaks, haha!~ But meeting people is kind of awkward for me, since I don't talk a lot outside of the internet... I don't mind awkward silences though.

I'll have to lay out some of my ninja social mind-control tricks up in here sometime soon... I have a lot of ways of making social interaction easier on myself, mostly because necessity is the mother of invention...

Right now though, I should be cleaning and cooking... Alone time for this evening is almost over, because everyone's off work and heading home by now.

I want it to look like I did it all earlier, not at the last minute, so I better do it all now.

XD

I'll be back...

I have a hard time trying to come up with things to say and then the other person thinks I'm not interested in talking to them WHICH IS NOT TRUE I JUST DON't know what to say.

Ignis, yes, I feel you. Sometimes, I just like listening, LOL. Either that or I feel like ranting about things.

I like listening too. Sometimes i like being around people who talk most of the time so i don't have to say anything
but other times I want to talk :p

I'm talkative when I know there's a discussion and i'm kind of weird in that I say alot of random things. Sometimes funny and sometimes just weird.

I find that's one reason why I don't mesh with people. I'm too different. And unpredictable.

Yeah, with a discussion it's easier for me too. I used to talk a lot... but I guess growing up toned me down a little.

I'm much more socially awkward in real life than online. The anonymity helps I guess. xD

I'm way less socially awkward than I was when I was younger. Pain made me go from, "OH NO! WHAT IF I MESS UP???" to, "I don't care, go fuck yourself."

I think age might have something to do with it too...as a kid I could barely walk up to a McDonald's counter and order an ice cream.

^ METOO
I have to admit, I'm still scared of speaking English though I've been always pressured and told that studying in an English medium school I have to be able to talk. But I always end up with my mouth shut, no words >_>

Gah. Yeah, I know what you mean. I took some Japanese classes and I could never bring myself to say anything beyond the few times we had oral tests. That time I went on a trip with some friends to Japan I also stuttered and it was so hard to open my mouth to ask something. (although them not understanding my English was part of the reason...I later found that I have to enunciate very heavily on all the syllables and then they could mostly understand what I was saying...)

Me too, hehe. I find it easier to speak to people online. In a way, I find it comforting behind a mask when I'm interacting with humans.

Sadly I don't have many hoodies. ;; I'd love to get more though, especially some of those 'special' hoodies like this Toothless one:

@Ant - and HELMETS!
I want hoodies so bad, but I don't have any ;_; I don't think I can wear it on top of my headscarf, anyway
