I can imagine the texture of peanut butter must seem gross to a lot of people. Texture can ruin food for me sometimes :( Makes no difference if it tastes good if it feels nasty in your mouth! Blech!

I used to LOVE peanut butter but I am not so big on it anymore. I never liked how it stuck to the roof of your mouth! Do you like peanuts? Maybe it is the peanut taste.

It's not an allergy, but I can't eat any type of nut or seed. Peanuts, cashews, sunflower seeds... even coconuts. I love their smell (roasted or raw), I love peanut butter (smooth), I love coconut flavouring and pistachio ice cream (with no pistachio chunks) is my favourite! But put one of these things raw in my mouth and I'll be gagging in a corner, holding back the vomit.
It's the weirdest thing... It's clearly the texture.

Does beer count? Because I loathe beer. I have tried several kinda of it now and all of it disgusts me. I am convinced that at some point I will find one that explains to me why other people think it's good, but I'm losing hope.

I hate the taste of beer too, it's so nasty But then I've seen cartoons and all sorts that say beer is an aquired taste and no-one likes it at first.
Is this a peer pressure thing? Stick with drinking this horrible thing until you can finally tolerate it, and eventually grow to like it, because all your mates are doing the same? Or is it because the "benefits" outweigh the negative points? It's still the cheapest way of getting drunk, even if it's gross?

There is a food, the worst part being that I cannot remember it until I eat it, that tastes like that horrible taste when you have a cold/ear infection and you suck that nasal-y mess down your throat, and some touches your tongue.

Oh my gosh, so normally I love fried rice. But the other day my brother made it with A CRAP TON of soy sauce, and it was so salty and runny and... Blech. Not fried rice. It was like soy sauce and a little rice soup. Nasteh crap!

Excessive soy sauce seems to be a guy thing? Or maybe excessive condiments as a whole is a guy thing, hmm...

Definitely a guy thing. I'll make white rice brown with soy sauce, which is why I need to switch the seasonings up.
Lol @ Uni. It's terrible, though. I CANNOT remember what food makes me feel this way and it drives me up a wall knowing that a new food I try may trigger this wave of nausea once more.

My mom would let me try sips of wine and beer when I was a kid, and I never liked them. By the time I reached 18 though, my taste had changed and I did come to like them. I kept trying them over the years partly because of the social pressure around drinking, but I genuinely came to like alcohol for it's own sake. I went through the same thing with smoking, tried it out due to social pressure, but basically hated it and gave it up immediately.
In general, when I find foods/drinks I don't like, I try to taste them again periodically, just to see. I used to hate ginger, for example, but kept trying it because it's such a key ingredient in so much Asian food, and eventually I realized it didn't taste like soap at all, but was in fact delicious!

Even when doused in sugar in milk, maltiada, I STILL can't drink it!

Some white or rose wine is really nice, but red? BLECH! That's nasty! Slow cook some beef in it then yay, but I don't want to be drinking it!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who hates beer.
I definitely think it's one of those acquired tastes, but I might just be full of it. But I have Irish and German blood so I figure if anyone was going to like beer it would be me...but I don't.
I don't really like alcohol in general, though. I like some ciders and one type of wine taste wise, but mostly I feel really uncomfortable getting drunk so I don't drink and disliking the taste of alcohol doesn't bother me because of that.

Ugh, tuna, I can't. There are tons of things I just can't eat. I have been getting quite a bit more adventurous with my diet though and trying a lot of new things that I wouldn't have liked in the past.

Reading back to the posts about peanut butter, it reminded me that I think the texture of nutella is worse than the texture of peanut butter. Nutella is kinda goopy and slimy in comparison to the peanut butters I've eaten and it weirds me out sometimes....maybe I've just had bad nutella.

Ah yes, texture plays a big part in it as well. Back when I ate peanut butter I would absolutely not eat the chunky kind.

I like beer but not the bitter ones. I also like sweet white wines. I'm not much for hard liqueur but if they are mixed with juice or something I'll go for it.

I like some champagnes and I like whiskey mixed with other things. I can also drink bottles and bottles of schnapps, so I just don't buy it.
Texture is definitely my biff. I don't like mixed textures in things. Like, I don't want crunchy onions in otherwise creamy/smooth potato salad.
