True you can use it to keep in contact with family, but so many people I know have gotten viruses from it :( makes me very hesitant.

Although... technically, if you have conquered the internet, you have kinda conquered the world as you can control what people see or do online. Gahhh I get way too technical with conversations like this. Drives my friends bonkers xD
