I've never found gaia's loading time to be a problem, but it's just been way too spam ridden. I joined in 2004 when it still had enough moderators and wasn't all about gauging its users but since then it's gone downhill. You'd think it'd be the opposite since they have so many more resources available now than they did back then.

I joined this site yesterday and I'm already really happy with it. I haven't seen any spam at all which amazes me and the graphics are gorgeous!!!
