Shoot... It sucks, even though it's not idea theft. OT, but I was thinking of opening up a topic about which items from other avatar sites the users would like to see here. I don't wanna get scolded, though, so I'll do it on Gaia, where rules are more lenient. Sorry for the babbling, but that's pure coindicence from what I get. Maybe later, much later...

Kalium, we had a topic like that a few months back, but it turned out to be a huge debate and eventually got locked. I'd advise not to, for the same reasons.....but it's your call.

Ohh yeah, I can see the similarities. I don't think there is much you can do abut it though. I was going to get one on the other site. Now I am not so sure.

People claim gaia is so awesome and hawt with their Item designs but w/e...they take idea's from other's just like everyone else.

It happened to me... The holly head piece? I entered that and low and behold a few weeks later it was an item... but no credit to me... And the longcat scarf... Someone suggested that waaaaay back in the first item contest... they didn't win and yet the very same design shows up on gaia... in an item that comes from the cash shop so the fat gaia cats are making a mint on that guy's idea!!!

That's why I won't enter anymore item contests anywhere... Sure most people are honnest, but I don't want to get burned again...

You know they say there are no new ideas, and it's true. Sometimes people all come to the same idea at the same time because something is popular in society at that given time and they don't even realize it influences their idea. As in the case of Steampunk. That is just really popular overall.

In other cases, as in the hobby horse...that's an old idea. I had a hobby horse that looked like that as a kid. That was over 35 years ago. There is a common concept for the hobby horse.

Ultimately you can't let what happens on another site keep you from releasing something on this site that the users want or would enjoy. You have to remember that's a two way street. This site will release things before other sites too.

I wouldn't get caught up in that. Even if they think we stole it...so what.
